I'm sure after the money invested with it they wouldn't simply get with rid of it. -
Disneyland Australia; will it EVER happen?
New display name replied to SunshineTom's topic in Theme Park Discussion
@Jamberoo Fan Just to add to AlexB with a picture. The area you visit might be round in shape but the land needed is a lot bigger. Disney land in CA. To add to this- Disney also owns this land. I've been told by a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who knows somebody that Disney also owns area marked in green and 5 years ago Disney also did a buy back of some of the land surrounding Disney. -

It might be time for you to get a new insider. My insider said your insider is full of shit. I do crave a good themed ride but there comes a point when the ride is that good, it doesn’t need much theming, if any. -

Dreamworld Lego Store construction

You’re not getting it. The building is standard and nothing special. The theme is added onto it and can be easily removed. -
Dreamworld Lego Store construction
New display name replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
100% I do. It's a standard building. Nothing different from your local Coles store re-fitting out their shop every few years. A friendly word from skeet. From time to time you will come across people here who actual know what is going on. So, if you say “incorrect” you better have something to back it up. -

Hogwash. DW would be paying to build the new Lego store. If Lego wanted to cancel the contract they would of. -
After checking out all the land around the Markets it is safe to assume that it will be built on the land indicated by a ferris wheel. WTF Skeet has gone crazy and attaching random pictures. Application in for a new Bunnings. Application in for a new residential development. (looks like the cows will finally go) Songcheng Legendary Kingdom could even connect the new ferry services to it.

Another new project for the Gold Coast http://blankgc.com.au/largest-night-market-in-australia-coming-to-the-gold-coast/ http://thefareground.com.au/ Right in the middle of Carrara. The FareGround will deliver all of that, and more, when it opens in early 2018. The new market is a collaboration between Carrara Markets owner (and Sirromet Wines founder), Terry Morris and NightQuarter entrepreneurs Michelle Christoe and Ian Van der Woude. The initative will see an unused urban space, adjacent to Carrara Markets next to the Gooding Drive roundabout transformed into a buzzing night market, right before the Commonwealth Games hit town. Michelle Christoe told Blank Gold Coast that they’re taking their inspiration from old world fairgrounds. Think carousel rides, ferris wheels and sideshow alleys. And then they’re throwing into the mix 40 chef-driven street kitchens, eclectic bars, circus, live music and 30 creative local arts and craft vendors. To top it all off, FareGround will also create a new 750 person live music venue. The local music scene has long lamented the gap in the market for a venue this size. So as well as offering opportunities for street performers, buskers, circus acts and theatre performers, the venue is also expected to attract touring bands wishing to cater to that mid-size audience range. Striking a balance between nostalgia and innovation, the architectural design of the site will draw from whimsical images of fairgrounds and carnivals of days past, while innovating with upcycled materials to create something completely new. If this is not just a quick chuck together development and they are drawing inspiration from old world fairgrounds and are truly looking at recreating it, I would check it out.

@Brad2912If it was we would have dinosaurs roaming free and guest bathing in the water features. DW Facebook replied to a question. (Hey Joshua! I haven't had confirmation on what exactly will be operating in Dreamworld but we'll have updates to share this week so stay tuned). In short "stayed tuned") -
If you had $500 million to spend on a theme park...
New display name replied to SunshineTom's topic in Theme Park Discussion
1. If you think about it somebody already has the rights to Jurassic Park 2. Why does it have to have the Jurassic Park’s naming rights? 3. The last time I looked it up nobody owned the rights to dinosaurs so why couldn’t you do a dinosaur park without the name and come up with your own ideas instead of coping a movie? 4. What is with you and all your B&M coaster talk? Why would somebody want all B&M coasters? Talk about a dead giveaway that you need your B&M coaster cherry popped. 5. What type of water features are you looking at adding? 6. I’ve never liked the idea of a zipline in a park. Went to WnW yesterday and didn’t see one group go on the SkyCoaster. I asked a staff member and they said it was open. (Side note: What is going on with the Zipline at WnW? Has is ever operated?) This is what I would do with 500 Million dollars. I wouldn’t buy a theme park or build one. I would travel the world visiting as many places as I could while drinking a lot of piss on the way. Why would I go to your Jurassic Park and only ride B@M coasters, a zipline and a few spin and spew rides while looking at pretty water features? -

DW have spent the big bucks, just not in the area you want. DW spent 55 million on WWW. I don't think DW adding one 55 million dollar ride would ever of given them the same return that WWW has. You have to remember that DW charged you for the Thunderbolt when it first opened. What happens if this new coaster opens up at MW and they charge you $5.00 to ride? Would you be happy to pay it? If DW can't make a return of a ride, why would they build it? What B&M coaster do you want? When I go shopping for a new car I don't say I want a new KIA. I would say I want a new KIA Carnival because I have 48 kids to stuff inside. -
99% of the time the link changes which will require you to look up the application. https://publicdocs.c1.sccl.qld.gov.au/hprmwebdrawer/RecordHtml/7564029 Application number: MCU16/0279 Go to Sunshine Coast Council and locate PDonline.

Dreamworld Memorial & Reopening discussion
New display name replied to JaggedJanine's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Craig Davidson said on the radio today DW hasn't made any plans for the memorial. He also said when they talk to the family about and if the families don’t want one than DW will not build it -
I'll see you @Gazza and raise you with this. "This application “replacement rides” is an interim step in the upgrading and modernisation of Aussie World. Later this year, an additional application will be made seeking 5 new rides. This application will be followed by an application for a full masterplan in 2017" If that's your idea of a pick line you better try harder. I'm not that easy but I do accept Fast Passes as gifts.

Maybe you should learn to read. -
Now that the land has been developed behind AW it will be interesting if it gets the same resistance that MW is getting. I don't know where to stick this: Aussie World has lodged a Fast Track Approval for this. Typhoon 360 (replacing Octopus) Crazy Mouse (replacing Wild Mouse)

DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion
New display name replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
@thunder001 The age old foundation debate. For on the record it's a regional thing. In Australia it's a footing. If someone ask you for a biscuit or a cookie do you correct them or do you know what they are talking about. If I'm talking to a client and the person calls it a footer, I will call it a footer too, not to confuse that person. @themagician called it a footer so I called it the same so if somebody is reading it they won't think we are talking about 2 different things. -

By the size of the footer and the amount of Tie-down I might have to rethink if this footer is for bracing. Might be a chance that you will drive under the coaster as you enter the park. Ok who has ridden a Mack train like this? What do you think about your feet not touching the floor? Mack wheel porn. (just because)
