  1. I don't think we will see anything that is too tall at LPS again. Something like Rainbow could be a possibility, but anything much higher than that would be hard to picture at LPS. People are also saying that they could "expand" Maloney's corner. I don't think they have any more space to expand that they own. However you could move the childrens rides that are facing the harbour and place the Ranger in the top left corner near Spider. This would create an interesting sensation for people on the ride, swinging out over the water. The noise generated from the ride would also be further away from the evil residents. There would also be a large area to the entrance of the corner, near the railway lines that could fit 2 - 3 flat rides or a small coaster. As far as coasters go, I was looking at a Maurer Söhne / Xtended SC 2000. The ride fits within a 20m x 40m Dimension, which would fit perfectly where I am talking about. I have looked at Google Arial views and checked it all out. It would suit LPS perfectly and is only 2mill USD. http://www.rcdb.com/m/id2315.htm
  2. You enter in the side of the building, I have never seen a line longer than say 10 minutes and that was with half the switchbacks filled. I would say the total duration of the attraction is around 15 minutes, including the Pre-Show and actual gameshow. Hope that answers your questions Jjuttp.
  3. Yes, the Flume Ride had extensive maintenance last year, but every ride has some down time during the year to go over things. It is also a rather short period of 10 days. The Train Line went down during the construction of Jet Rescue as well, and it seems they have not bothered to bring it back. It wasn't exactly interesting though.
  4. Would be hard with the height regulations... we don't want to see another Sea World Eye fiasco.
  5. Yeah it would explain alot. Hopefully they will replace it with another flat ride, as that is all that can really fit in that space.
  6. Park model, recently refurbished. The ride is in very good condition, it has just been decommissioned in an amusement park. Total refurbishedment a few years ago. In perfect working order. Must sell US$130,000 Euro$100,000. Can Ship worldwide, and have people available to set-up and recommission the ride if necessary. I just found this on used rides... If you search for pirate it's the 2nd advert down. www.usedrides.com
  7. No Idea, they MIGHT come back if they don't get sold. I however would not hold your breath.
  8. Claw and Chaos will not be back at RES as they are up for sale. In Regards to Rainbow it was a very last minute thing that happened. I am not 100% as to why it was replaced with Ali Baba at the last minute, but I know it was not due to safety concerns. From what I have heard it was something to do with the company, but I can't go into specifics as I don't know for certain. Hopefully someone could shed some more light onto the situation.
  9. IF they are the Mates Rates Cards, they are valid in the following periods. I got these at the end of my seasonal contract at Dreamworld: "Valid from 27 January to 24 December 2009. Excluding peak periods 10 - 19 April 2009, 27 June - 12 July 2009, 19 September - 4 October 2009"
  10. I'd say around 1999 was Dreamworld's Peak. Tower Of Terror still had the Pre Show. Giant Drop had staff in costume and looked great. Wipeout, Thunderbolt, Village Oval... god I had so many memories around that time. And it will ALWAYS be the Gravitron to me, not the Vortex Same with the Reef Diver and Enterprise... 2000 was still good... but 1999 was where it was at!
  11. ^ What he said... it was better... but not that much.
  12. LOL! They may as well just turn on the studio house lights if they let it get much worse... It would be cheaper after all
  13. That was another thing I forgot to mention, the projectors were not working...
  14. I guess with AVPX, it would depend on the staff member. I know I would be pretty damn pissed off if little bratty children kept firing guns into my eyes even when I told them to stop it. I would just de-activate there phasers mid way through the game Or... Turn EVERYONE against them
  15. I agree with EVERYTHING that Klassen and many other people have said about WVTP and Dreamworld lately. Dreamworld seems to have been improving in leaps and bounds under the new management, but what is Movie World doing? Letting things slip once again. They did this around 2004 when they had all the strikes and the rides running rotationally. With the way they are acting down there, It would not surprise me to see that again. However one thing that ALL the parks are seeming to strive in right now is Staff friendliness and cleanliness within the park. I remember 2 - 3 years ago Dreamworld's staff were the most rude people I had ever come across. WVTP recently had a dark period in that department from my own experience. But now across the board it seems to be fixed. So to any staff that are reading here, while the rides may be a bit on the worn down side. You can and have been making a big difference to the park overall!
  16. But that's the thing, there were people behind us and they even commented on it. They had obviously been in the past and they said something along the lines of "That was really crap compared to 2 years ago"
  17. Well... I don't know this for certain, but what Reanimated said does actually make some sense. They could have been pumping the water through faster later in the day. I know that the pumps on other Log Flumes can be "primed" which can help determine how wet you get as well as the flow of water. However if you had a heap of larger riders, you will most likely get more wet. I know for a fact that if the boat is a bit lopsided... you WILL get drenched on the turn near "Ol Faithful" if you happen to be on the wrong side
  18. When I rode it yesterday... I was VERY disapointed after waiting 60 minutes for my ride. There was no smoke, the music was that quite I could not even hear it, and the lasers were "Mehtastic" to say the least. And in the last room, there was no light whatsoever. Come on Movie World, pick up your game. You have shown that you can give rides the TLC they deserve with the Corkscrew and Jet Streams. It's time to make this ride the World Class ride it deserves. I have almost given up faith in Movie World, the last 3 times I have been there my visit has left alot to be desired. I know the park is more than capable of living up to it's name, but they have let it slide.
  19. You see, even if Noel Dempsey had no prior theme park experience before this job. He had other executives that could help him out, such as Bob Tan. Noel really seems to have his head screwed on with this place, and there have been so many changes in the last 6 months. I even noticed that there were more trees planted around the place, such as in front of the Reef Diver. Which I will point out is looking very darn good right now. Congrats to Noel, Dreamworld, Macquarie Leisure and everyone else down there. If you keep going the way you are, you will soon be the theme park that you used to be
  20. 1. Bermuda Triangle 2. Wipeout 3. Jet Rescue 4. Superman Escape 5. The Claw 6. Cyclone 7. The Giant Drop 8. Wild West Falls 9. Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster 10. Lethal Weapon
  21. I personally think it's fine the way it is. Batwing Spaceshot IMO is more of a "filler" attraction for the park. It looks well presented, and there is not that much you can really do with it. I would like to see capacity improved on the ride, but due to the actual ride it's near impossible to greatly improve the overall capacity. Pre-Shows should be left for the more major rides such as Batman, Scooby Doo, Superman etc.
  22. Hmmm... very odd... maybe it is getting a retheme? I did also hear rumors of a possible retrofitting of the launch systems. However on a unrelated note... the sign saying how fast you went was actually WORKING on Sunday!
  23. Well, as promised I went to Dreamworld yesterday to check out AVPX. I also made my thoughts clear on the attraction and was overall very impressed. A few little things that I would like to see adjusted, but I think as the attraction settles in all that will be rectified. I have also attached a few photos to show the detail within the holding area's prior to the briefing bays. There was no signs saying I could not take photos within those rooms, but I did not just to avoid being yelled at I will be heading down there probably next week so I could get some more pics then As seen from the Game Site near Reef Diver As seen looking towards the entrance of the attraction As seen looking towards the end of the corridor, heading towards the briefing rooms. Showing the detail of the attraction, even the walls have had the logos put on it.
  24. Yes, you can leave your bags under the guns in the briefing rooms. Now somebody mentioned that there are 22 people per group going through the attraction, but I remember the operator counting 28 people in our group and there ended up being 2 spare guns still. Anyway it's a very good, solid attraction on the inside, however I do hope the outside gets done up real soon.
  25. But there are up to 3 groups in the briefing rooms at any one time... And if the lines are really long I'm sure the game could be shortened. It felt like 10 minutes in the arena, but it may have been less I'm not 100%
