I'm disappointed @Mark Shaw that you didn't place any hints - even red herrings, clues or false positives in the image to stir the crowd. I'd have put ride manufacturer brochures splayed out across the desk... perhaps even a B&M one on top to fuel the hype train...!

I was of the understanding the pay point would be outside the ride... but given the loose item policy \ boxes - it wouldn't be that hard to accept that they'd do it all at load.

We've discussed the timeshare companies on here previously. I fully expect this will likely get moved by a mod to that thread if the discussion continues, but in the meantime I feel compelled to respond. Firstly as disclosure - two of my close relatives have shares in Wyndham, and a friend of mine does too. My most recent trip to Disneyland Resort was at the Worldmark Anaheim (affiliate through Wyndham) and I can honestly say it was fantastic. The thing is - people don't go into these things with eyes open. Your link to Wyndham refers to it repeatedly as a scam, and they (and i'm sure anyone who knows how to use google) found countless reviews, blogs and complaints about their process... however this link also says: ...and that's the problem of the consumer. The sales tactic is legitimate. The ACCC have investigated complaints about this style of marketing and selling and found it to be in accordance with the trade practices act. People attend these 'seminars' willingly, lured by the promise of a free hotel stay, discounted tickets or small gifts. I can't comment on Ultiqa - never seen or heard of them, but Wyndham's tactics are well known, and totally legal. Anyone who signs a contract without reading it is an idiot, deserves everything they get and receive no sympathy from me. All one has to do is watch Judge Judy or The People's Court to see the same old story about how someone didn't read their contract properly. As for their appearance in the theme parks... i'm sure they pay handsomely for the privilege. The parks therefore get a revenue stream from it which allows them to buy other things we want. If you aren't interested in it, or think its a scam - a simple no thankyou, or walking on the opposite side of the path is the end of the interaction with them. If you do attend a seminar, its usually because either: 1) you're interested in what they're selling; or 2) you want something for free, which is what they promise to give you if you come. Either way - you attend because you want something out of it. They offer the free things to you to get you there. Its the cost of marketing. They could buy TV ads costing thousands, or they could purchase tickets from the theme parks wholesale and then offer them at a substantial discount. Bottom line - don't like them, don't go, but don't go, and then complain that about how you wasted 2 hours of your time, or were pressured into buying from them - thats the price of the free tablet computer \ discount tickets. Nothing is free in this world.

My bet is to accommodate the headset area, charging stations and the like, they're simply going to cut a hole in the wall and this extra framework will be the 'service counter' for the headsets.

I'm really impressed with how the fountain came out. looks awesome - but it seems to be causing leaks across the other side of the path... I like the sound of something being done with the castle. It takes up a crapload of space in the park and is poorly utilised. Don't think that they won't do anything big just because Movie World has something big coming too - we have to remember that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the parks to capitalise on Commonwealth Games exposure. I firmly believe all the parks have something planned before the games arrive. On what scale I don't know, but VRTP has embarked on a huge improvement program around all of the parks, as well as large capital expenditures - SW roof, TopGolf, New MW Coaster, massive WWF refurb, and whatever is happening with the Aqua Racer and Jet Streams at WnW. SW could still have something else in the pipeline. We've been so busy trying to work out whats happening at MW, things at SW could very easily have slipped under the radar.

It almost looks like they're framing up offices, or a small living area - could this perhaps be more of a haunted house, than just a bunch of panic rooms?

But hey if you're that hard up - an hour or two of your time in exchange for half price tickets isn't that bad of an offer. You're getting something, and they're getting something.

Firebreaks aren't 'moot'. Yes, embers can fly over breaks... but they need the right conditions to reflare. Open, lush green lawns aren't likely candidates. I lived through the January 1994 fires in Sydney on rural acreage. Our property was used to park AVgas tankers for the helicopter water bombers. We did 12 hour shifts around the clock on spotfire watch. The Rural Fire station was at the end of our street and everyone in the community was a member. As you can see from Skeet's image - that section of the park is highly unlikely to have any sort of issue. The swamp shading is probably only shaded because it identifies as a rather large tract of bush. I'm sure that given the swamp itself, little of that area would actually be prone to fire as it would likely stay quite wet, and there's little around it to dry it out. That said - that risk factor may need to be updated after construction as some of that is likely to be cleared from what i've seen on Parkz. Your statement that a bushfire can be a threat no matter where you live is also incorrect. I'm sure those living in highrise apartments in CBD areas would disagree with you.

I was going to do up a nearmap image just to show the absurdity of 'bushfire' risk to the park - but its really not worth the effort. Anyone can look at google earth images showing what surrounds the park. Residential to the north and south, a 70+ metre firebreak to the east known as the M1, and hilly pockets of bushland divided by even more residential properties to the west. The only major bushfire risk comes from the south west, where a strip of bush approximately 120m wide leads up to Paradise Country. It would be incredibly unlikely, and require a veritable freak of nature for the fire to make its way up that strip of bushland requiring the right winds, and weather, changing at just the right time in order to get that far. Given the new eco-tourism installations in that area, VR is unlikely to let fire get that far, let alone over the hill, through the studios, WWF and half the park before it reached the coasters at the front of the park. Considering fire services deal with bushfires that have fronts stretching KILOMETRES, 120 metres isn't even worth firing up water bombers. I'm all for postulating possible risk situations where there is a likely hazard, but come on people - seriously.

I hope it works out for you. Traditionally, fireworks are the finale to a show - most people head home after that.

check the dates @reanimated35 - the dirty pool and dry grass is 2016 can confirm both pictures have the pools filled - 2016 was just really dirty - looked like a lot of sand had washed into the water.

The large steel structure next to the old TOT pod looks a bit weird. i'm sure it isn't, but the only thing I can think of is that it's a 'shipping frame' for the new pod - but it doesn't make sense that it would be shipped with so much steel - anyone got any ideas where it has come from? it doesn't look old...
