  1. Meh, I don't care, as long as it's still fun to ride (which to me it was) it's not too old. The day it goes to slow to be able to do a flip, I'll give in and say that it's too old. Still, it's a helluva fun ride.
  2. When I visited Dreamworld lasy year, the TOT seemed quiter then it did in 2001 when I first went. From those two limited experiences, I wouldn't say that it is getting louder.
  3. Nar, what LPS needs is a few more flatter, ground oriented flat rides. Much like the Breakdance or the Claw (travelling). The HUSS Booster (much different from the one above) would be a fabulous addition to LPS if they found the space to add it in. If not the Booster, perhaps a KMG Experience. They'd both be excellent additions to the park.
  4. Firstly, the Tower of Terror, from what I've seen and heard hasn't gone over 160kph in years. And indeed, it may have been true that the pod went that fast on the day that they were there, however (and it doesn't take a genius to understand this) there is no chance that it is going to operate that fast when average joe goes there for his holiday. Dreamworld may have let it go slightly faster whilst a TV crew was there to entice people not in the know-how to come there and ride the 165kph roller-coaster! When Jane and Joe arive there with their children, they find out they only went 157kph and feel all bummed out. Of course normal people wouldn't care because the ride is a great experience, but it is slightly misleading. Now, as for the quote that I supplied from the camera expert, theme park expert and mathematics expert. You think it is a camera angle thing, well done ol son, well done, good thinking. Unfortunately you aren't too good at reading because I've already said that the camera wasn't at a position at the base of the tower, like this: (I couldn't be bothered to look for an image like that of a roller-coaster, so I used your skyscraper idea.) This is a picture of the Transamerica Tower from GTA San Andreas, with the camera positioned at the bottom of the tower to make it look absurdly tall. Now, in the Sunrise show the camera wasn't down there, the camera was set up in a place that looked to be on the Cyclone Lift hill, although that's obviously not true, it gives a good indication of which part of the park the camera was set up in. So instead of giving off the illusion of a huge height, it looked more or less like the standard ol Tower of Terror, much like this image: The black arrow indicates the rough position that the pod normally reaches, the red arrow indicates the rough position that the pod reached on the Sunrise show. As I said before, it wasn't the camera angle that made the difference, Dr. Camera expert
  5. Definately. Everytime I step into LPS, I love what it looks like along the midway for the most part. Especially the placeing of the Tango & Rotor. Each of these rides has their own unique building and entrance, and these serve to enhance the rides attractiveness to the customer. If the Ranger was put back on top of one of the food buildings, or perhaps the Rotor, it would be great. I loved the way you used to have to go behind certain buildings and such to get to the Tumble Bug and Ranger. It's certainly a pity what happened to these rides, and Makoney's corner.
  6. All this is on one island right?
  7. Make sure you post lots of screenshots, I look foward to seeing these additions after Joz's very nice addition.
  8. Having never ridden either, it would be foolsih for me to take part in this poll. However, I do believe that Millennium Force has a much better reputation, a much smoother ride, a much more exhilarating ride (perhaps due to the absense of a mid ride brake run) and it is taller. If I were to make pre-ride assumptions, I'd say Millennium Force takes the cake.
  9. Right on Slicky-dog-homie-nigga-foo-bro you sex beast you.
  10. Themeing ey. Themeing, IMO is one of the most important things that a ride can have. Some might be saying "But Jim, you love carnival rides, they have no themeing." Yes, well done, but the theme of the carnival is the themeing that the carnival ride has. It's night-time, there's lots of flashy lights and loud music and horny teens wandering around. If you plonked a Breakdance out in the middle of the desert, it'd suck. If you plonk a breakdance amidst a few other rides with smelly operators and the aforementioned features, you have a great ride. Theme parks don't bother with smelly operators and bright lights, they go all out and do the full themeing, which is why theme parks are more popular then carnivals. Yes, themeing is of paramount importance.
  11. That's freaking ridiculous. In any event where there is a breakdown and you've been forced to exit the ride without having a full go you should be fully entitled to get a ride the instant they get it back up and running. This Movieworld policy is bullocks. I really can't see too much of the entry-fee paying public standing for that, and I believe they'll have a lot of unhappy, peeved off customers if they keep that "rule" up and running.
  12. Wha? What happened with the stench? What was it? I demand to know!
  13. Claw ey. I remember four things about that ride 1: They stole the name from the real Claw, the travelling version (which actually looks like a claw) 2: It was absurdly smooth & graceful and the rotation had just the right speed. 3: Much like the area near the Giant Drop, it stank really bad. Kinda like bad cooking oil. 4: Coming down from the apex facing the direction of the swing was awesome. Apart from the stench, 'twas great.
  14. The pod, looked as if it went higher then it really does. Does it really need more explanation? They made it out to go a lot faster (at one point Kochie said it goes 165kph), and higher up the tower then it really does. And the camera shot which showed it going up the tower looked to be somewhere around where the Wipeout was. No amount of severe angling from there could make it seem like it's gone up a lot higher then it really has. Sure, if they had the camera sitting at the bottom of the tower then the angle would make a difference, but from this angle, no. Simply no. Perhaps they ran it at a higher speed because it was on TV. People see how high it goes on TV, and then they think "wow!", then when they get there it barely reaches halfway. Not that I'm complaining about how high it goes, I love the Tower of Terror, but for some who've never seen it before, it could be misleading.
  15. The themeing sets they do have, for the most part are excellent. The Wild West theme set & spooky set are proof of that, however the generic themeing set leaves a lot out, and there could and should be a lot more different themeing options available.
  16. Very nice, especially when considering that you made a very well themed park with RCT3's limited themeing sets. It would be cool to see it all from a few different angles as well. I would download it, but I don't have soaked, so I can't.
  17. I watched it. It was a fairly standard type of "theme park show", but it was good none the less. The Tower of Terror looked to be going a lot higher up the tower on their show then it ever did whilst I was at Dreamworld. False advertising if you ask me.
  18. Such a pity I don't have this game anymore... Anyone wanna sell theirs over eBay? :?:
  19. I've never been a huge fan of water parks. They burn my pale british skin (despite the fact that my parents, and grandparents are Australian). Anyway, Roller-coasters are more exciting, hence I vote SE.
  20. Very nice indeed. I can never find the patience to create large buildings in RCT2 or 3. The camera is all crappy, and I get frustrated. If possible, can you get a screenshot of the whole park so we can compare the size of your part to the rest of the parts? Plus I wanna see my area again. Good times.
  21. Make sure you take some screenshots for us Joz. I don't have the game anymore (as I said, cracked disk) and hence won't be able to see your addition. I'd love to see it finished.
  22. Absolutely awesome, I had no idea this ride was on it's way here but I've always wanted to experience it. Some of it's motions seem outrageous. When does the Tango arrive?
