  1. Look everyone's points put together and in the end the fact is from our prospective the show isn't up to standards or polished, but we are like the film critics, when they go and judge a film they pick it to pieces and almost every time it turns out to be a bad response but the viewers love it. It is the same here we are picking it to pieces but the guest's the views love it i see this show and it's crowds 5 days a week and almost every person leaves with a smile on there face and i havn't once had a bad review by a guest that has either approached me or i approach them. "oh look, it's just like the Lights Motors Action show we saw at Disneyworld." That doesn't mean they dislike the show just means they have seen something similar and in most cases makes them want to go see it or excited to see it. It's the same as me going to the Great Moscow Circus and saying "oh look, it's just like Cirque Du Soleil we saw in Brisbane" Just because The Great Moscow circus was on a much smaller scale and nowhere near as good as Cirque Du Soleil Doesn't mean i dislike there show just means i have seen something similar and in my case it made me want to see it and i was excited to see it even though it was very much the same it was still good. Every single day HWSD is staged professionally nothing less these people who are in the show both actors and drivers, tech crew all trained months before the show started. The only reason why people have a go at the show is because we are adding new effects new scenes and we have made changes to the script which you can't say some shows don't. The fact is those who dislike and complain about these changes well you have a lot more complaining to do as things are going to be added and changed heaps this year even more so by the middle of the year when stage two is approved and things are changed all over again with new things new changes to the script ect. i say if you don't like it and don't think it polished enough or isn't professionally staged enough for you don't go see it.
  2. Nev i just have to say excellent point you have made i have performed in theatrical productions, many and i know that when there isn't a neat and polished show you will get nowhere, But if it were to be a neat and polished show it is excellent, last year i played a character in theatrical production called The importance of being Ernest. It took us 6 months to put together we expected a 3 week run and it lasted 8 now that show was one of the best i have been in for a long time, I my self am a magician and perform for schools both primary and high schools and also do shows at RSL clubs and other major venues my last years show was called Mystic took me 4 months to put together and i had almost full shows every time because it would have to have been in my opinion my most polished work. It was only suppose to be performed for last year but I'm still doing that exact same show this year. In the case of HWSD i have seen the show so many times i have lost count but each day it doesn't get old i enjoy it as much as everyone in the audience does. IMO the only reason why people on the forums say "oh it was ok" is because we compare it to PASS a show which is so much different and followed a different aspect than HWSD does. Everyone hates the script on the forums they talk to much. That is the point, the reason for the show was to teach the guests the audience how stunts and films were made and the original script followed that. After reading complaints from people about the show most weren't even from our actual guests they were from people i know in the theme parking community. I know they are guests to but they are trying to compare this show to PASS. I always ask guests what did they think off the show and every single guest says "that show was brilliant" or to that extent the fact is the guests love it and find the show to be a excellent addition and one thing a guest said to me one day was it was a older guy a father he said to me. "It is great to see that Movie World is starting to go back to the original days were it shows us the movie aspect of things" which i find to be so true. Micheal and his team spent so much time before anyone here knew about the show coming to put together a show that brings the movies back to the park. IMO he has done a job well done. I know everyone now is going to have a go at this and say oh we aren't comparing the shows the fact is you are this show is nothing like and isn't suppose to be anything like PASS it is designed to show you how stunts and movies work and you need a script with a decent amount of talking to tell you that. The show isn't well polished because the time management plan wasn't very well managed after the issues with the PASS set deconstruction the fact is with the time they had this show is very good. All those involved deserve a standing ovation for there hard time work and effort.
  3. Just to point out from what a few people have said its sounds as if you have gotten the impression that dreamworld is going to a pay per attraction system, this is not the case. this is just what a few people have said looks like the direction that will be taken in the future in my opinion it will be after the q4u trial period if anything. Oh and whitsy this is a community forum anyone is allowed to bitch about what ever they like that is the purpose of a forum to discuss matters weather they be good or bad dreamworld these days just happens to have more bad than good.
  4. I recon as Troy81 said the removal of dreamworlds gates with a cost to what ever attraction you do would be a good idea for the way they are going though i don't see it happening as dreamworld is to wrapped up in its self and will never let down on its competition with WVTP that they lost a long time ago. There not really getting anywhere with these stupid decisions being made, there now starting to put new attractions in every 6 months that are a waste of there time and our money. I think its about time they really have a hard look at what is happening and see that it is probably a wise move to quiet down for a bit do a little spite shine clean the place up bring it back to its original state, Put in a parade for god sakes create a bit of atmosphere they have enough well known characters to do so. Give it some time slowly put the pieces back were they belong and then after having time without impulse buying with these silly things like race cars and laser games put in an attraction that will wow Australia like you used to. Dreamworld used to have huge ques in summer time i mean huge these days you wait 10 mins and your in what happen to the crowds. Oh wait you empty there bank accounts these days don't you we may as well hand you our key card and pin number.
  5. I wasn't asked to leave like i said read my post's properly i said recommended as at that time there was a lot of heat on the issue of people leaking info which shouldn't have been which i'm sure a lot of people on this forum would have heard about. It wasn't based on people putting the disclosed info on the net it was to reporters ect. The issue has been dealt with and those who were involved have been shown the consequences. End of discussion back on topic. If you also have a problem with me being back discuss it over PM not on the forums as people are sick of the stupid arguments made by new members.
  6. Just to help you out Alex im guessing he has a issue with me posting now seeing i said i was leaving which was recommended by those of whom i work with, but after recent discussion things are fine and that no longer need be the case, so i hope to be welcomed back with open arm's, as we can see ash obviously has a issue with opening his i guess
  7. I would be saying goodbye to the Terror Canyons all those who enjoyed them and be keeping a close eye out in our car parks in the up and coming months. We shall be in for a great surprise.
  8. Original as you added the Billboard located by the M1 has been removed that also being the reason for the temporary fencing, that was were the crane used to dismantle the Billboard sign was kept for the few days in which it was on site to stop anyone from touching it a night. I presume the billboard is going to be replace one reason for its dismantle i heard was because on the bottom was our parks operating times listed 10am-5pm which as of Feb 2nd is no longer the case. Though i don't personally see why they couldn't uses a little paint to cover and change that or get a pre made banner to go over top. Things are uncertain i don't see it to be anything huge just a means of curiosity but we shall see if there are any changes soon.

  10. Yet again Djrappa you have nothing better to do than jump on my case for your information i had permission from my supervisor to attend the show while on a break to take personal photos as i hadn't as of yet gotten a chance to see the show except for when i have been working. You again and again question things i do I'm very much aware of what i can and cant do and always double check my limits before doing things and get authorized permission. But thank you for your concern yet again (that being said with sarcasm).
  11. Original very very good point and i can assure you and many other staff who are in higher places that are on this forum could also tell you this matter gets discussed all the time the op's staff will always write it down in the weekly ride comments for lethal weapon, ear/headache pain from rides seats. It doesn't get forgotten i can tell you guests send in formal complaints by email and mail about the ride its just a matter of getting a chance to do the change. It takes a far bit of work to do something like this and we will see it happen soon i'm sure. As much as you will and could all say "all you have to do is remove the old seats and replace them with new ones" There is a lot more work involved and that's not the reason why there is no line up shown, i took this picture after i updated the board at about 12ish lethal weapon had a technical fault with the sync of the loading bay and the 2nd brake pad section beside the maintenance bay which caused it to close for about 2mins reason being the ride has no marker on the 10min section and it is on the line
  12. Happy to help. Best option yes, Buy it online you will get your print out with the bar code on it, on the day head straight to the turnstiles or scanners as you called it then go to the guest services building in main street not the upgrade booth because they will just send you to guest services in main street. Atm yes Superman Escape is first but its only been penciled in final decision you will find out the same time as i do it will be on the site as soon as it is finalised.
  13. Just thought i would add this photo its my favourite took it today while i was at work taken from the tech booth of HWSD shows a full legnth view from straight in the middle of the arena.
  14. Thanks T-bone Just quickly Gazza if you look at the picture i posted you will see superman escape was beyond 40mins today it was on 45+ most of the day seeing i changed both boards for the morning half. My advice would be excellent time to go round the 31st major rush is over and usually dies down around the 20Th plus no maintenance will start till around mid Feb with Superman Escape first of the cab from what iv seen on the schedule this though can change if someone decides to hirer the attraction in that time it will then be put back later. With the annual pass best thing for you is to just purchase the pass online in the end it will end up the same price or maybe slightly cheaper and it will save you a lot of hassle on the day trying to buy and upgrading this way you will have your day entry already so you can enter straight into the park through the turnstiles with out having to go to the ticket booth if you had of got a NRMA ticket because they don't give you the turnstile bar code you need to redeem that from the ticket booth were as if you buy online it will print you the bar code for straight entry, then you just need to go to guest services for a mug shot and they will get some details and your scribble and they will give you your pass.
  15. Its 45+ not just 40 the ride was lined up outside all day plus the inside que.
  16. Oh sorry thats what i meant by the souvenir cups.
  17. Hi jake just from a Movie World staff prospective here for you. The next three weeks are anticipated to be full capacity days each and every day meaning same amount of guests each day so you'll be in for the same Sh#t fight every day. Quick run down which should help you out a lot. Hollywood stunt driver runs 3 times a day 12:30, 2:30 and 4:15 the que starts 1hr and 15 mins before the show does and the line wraps around to the intencity game building if not longer. Take great use of the new ride times guide which is located near scooby doo and superman this is a trial system for a electronic system we may see very soon. Picture bellow. Do Scooby doo spooky coaster first off i mean right on 10am seeing the que will branch into the extended que area outside and has for the last 3 days. leaving you with a 2hr wait plus there has been break downs very often every day this week due to the amount of trains on the track on the plus side the fog is excellent in the main room and the drop. lethal weapon do when ever small que and both trains in operation at all times. Superman escape your bound to get a que length around 1hr an half plus all day long on the plus side the locker times have been extended to allow for the long que times exceeding the 1hr period. Batwing its que times are up and down all day so refer to your ride times guide. Batman adventure ride II 20 mins if that. Wild West falls best to be done early in the morning. All rides and attractions will be open and there is no scheduled maintenance Superman escape will close in rain and Batwing will close under strong winds. Quick tips 1. Do major rides while shows like Hollywood Stunt driver and the parade are on or if you want to see the parade leave for a major attraction after they have done the descent down the street because the ascent back up the street is the same. 2. Arrive early if you need to purchase your ticket or if you need to redeem a ticket from a pre purchased ticket like NRMA, RACQ ect. If your ticket has a barcode on it about 15cm long then far chance is you wont need to visit a booth just head to the turnstiles, arriving early ensures your either first to get a ticket or first into the park. 9am is a good time 11am they have been telling people sorry the park has reached capacity. 3. Eat snacks or pre made lunch while in a line que to save time exclusions with Superman escape and Scooby Doo Spooky coaster no food is allowed to be brought into the que area. I hope this info will be of help if you have any questions regarding anything in general PM or contact 133FUN for any park matters.
  18. The merchandise which is sold for Hollywood stunt driver is pretty much the same as the stuff for jet rescue there is mouse pads, The new souvenir cups are HWSD ones they sell HWSD plastic mega phones, personalized mugs, normal mugs few different t-shirts and also they sell those blow up cricket hands you all would have seen with the finger pointing up but they are red with HWSD logo. Some of the stuff is sold at the show by tenders roaming around the seating area along with food.
  19. It's been there for a while now WVTP are doing the exact same thing.
  20. Richo is correct as i mention in the HWSD thread the pin has been pulled for both soft openings at HWSD and Jet Rescue to allow for more training to happen tommorrow. So looks like Boxing day is going to be a big day for WVTP good luck to them.
  21. Well im sure those of you who attended todays show would have been pretty impressed, after seeing bits and pieces over the last few weeks i have been rather excited to see the show. those who got invited to the media revue would have also enjoyed that little preview and interview session which was also a good insight to the show and its backround. I got to see some of todays show very good in my opinion, after seeing police academy on a day to day basis i also had high expectations as did a lot of staff as to wether it would fill the shoes of police academy, i recon it did it quite well. well done Warner Bros. Movie World for bring back the meaning to this parks name. If you read Gazzas spoiler he mentioned about a few things that you can tell are there but didnt happen today you will see that on boxing day and in the future. as for the car jump timing that was mention by every tech guy who works on the show today that it needs some adjusting and it didnt go well, from when i had seen it last week perfect timing so seeing its first public show without stopping starting again over and over in training there was bound to be a few hickups, But after todays show training again comenced to fine tune some things, Also from what iv been told dont rush to see the show tommorrow as there is no soft opening but she will be up and running on boxing day ready for a maximum capacity day. Not looking forward to it.
  22. When the email's were sent out you all would have read it and then if interested you would have RSVP all you needed was your name and how many were going, if your a family there would have been more than one person for example. Replies came in very quickly and there were a far few people who didn't get in. The system worked by sending a automatic reply back to the first 200 people who RSVP. Rest a sure if you did miss out chances are there will be a soft opening on Wed. If interested in Wed soft opening email Guest Services before Wed to double check if it will go ahead, Tue is going to be used as a rehearsal for after the official opening (Boxing Day) if all goes well we will see a soft opening Wed if not we won't see a soft opening so email just in case. Ill be in at the park on Tue so i will find out if there is a soft opening on wed or not.
  23. Regarding the entrance there was originally ideas for re themeing it to tie in with the show but from what iv been told that won't be happening. So i assume just a sign but i think you will find the inside area before you enter the arena will be themed to the show. lately it has just been a giant mess with rubbish and construction left overs. Those attending the annual pass sneak peak will be in for a great show, from what I've been told it will be a great morning. Also from what iv heard the show will also be running on Wed closed Thurs (Christmas day) and official opening on Friday looking to be a very action packed Friday also, with the Jet rescue launch.
  24. Both HWSD and the Jet Rescue were scheduled to be ready by the 21st which will then allow for a soft opening to allow staff to get ready and prepare for what is to come on boxing day and afterwards, As most of you know and may have read after reading the article on HWSD. There has been some second guessing as to whether or not the HWSD soft opening is going to go ahead. The decision will be made over the next 2 days ill keep you all posted. If it does go ahead it will start on Monday. As for Jet Rescue the soft opening is being promoted at the park and I'm pretty sure it is going ahead i haven't heard any different.
  25. Car on the roof that would be the cantilevered car jump it uses one of the set roofs as a jump but they have been doing a lot of work with the special effect the other day if you had of seen it, it was in mid air aka part way through its jump and had been stopped. They are getting the effect right so it doesn't look as if its just a car on a stick flying across the air. They have to make the jump run smooth at a correct speed. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would have seen what happens when the old PASS cantilevered car flip didn't go to plan how it would struggle to turn and drop sometimes of it would go really slowly while it was doing the flip.
