  1. MW guest services informed us at 9 days old he was able to go on the carousel and the yosemite railway as he can be held, that is their policy not mine. Tweety cages, children must sit in the seat and be able to support their head and they are fine to ride. Again, MW policy not mine. Brad, he has been holding his head up with no head wobble since 2 months old. Age is not a definative indicator of milestones.
  2. Had an interesting few things occur at MW yesterday. Little Mr's pram broke walking from the carpark so we had to carry him in and head to Guest Services to hire one. We were informed by the Guest Services manager on duty that he has to be 6 months old, be able to hold his head up and sit up for us to be able to use a stroller for him and as such were subsequently told that they would not hire one to us... Yes he is only 3 months old, but he holds his own head up and sits up on his own. Annoyed we went to the dirty harry bar for nachos where Mr sat up in a high chair while we ate. We then headed to WB Kids area where we had no problems getting him on his usual 3 rides including the tweety cages where the requirement is that he has to sit on the seat and hold his head up... So MW policy states he can go on these rides but not use a stroller? Tad bizarre.
  3. I was referring to the fact this was posted a few days prior to his question.
  4. People need to read a thread before posting, the opening date is set as September. So safe to say before October 1st... Recent history would suggest open for a school holiday with a soft opening at least a few days prior to try and work out any kinks. Meaning opening for September 22 possible soft opening anytime from 17th.
  5. Australia Zoo does the whole black out thing with their passes. We bought a basic pass which gives acces only during the week, not weekends, school holidays or special event days. The next level gives entry to weekends as well, and the third level every day of the year. Because I work in hospitality and usually have my days off during the week and the wife is on maternity leave, the basic pass is perfect for us.
  6. Dammit I had yesterday off and was considering heading down to the park. This is looking great. So assuming open for school holidays in 17 days, run a soft opening the week prior we should see people walking through that arch in just over a week. Hopefully...
  7. Made it easier when you were always picked out along with a few other frequent annual pass visitors to do the sound stage, superman or the memphis belle stage. Was always lots of fun. The number of times I almost drained the splash pool for the final sound effect with water all over me was classic. Always a big response.
  8. That instance was back when Gremlin Adventure, Movie magic Studio Tour and Maverick still existed so there was a fair bit to fill days and keep you entertained. Also spent a couple of days of those doing only one thing for example, Movie Magic Studio Tour only, Gremlins only, shows only (PASS, Maverick, lunch, PASS, Maverick, PASS), and so on.
  9. From the years 2000 until 2009 I would not be exaggerating by saying I visited MW at least once every week (13 times in 14 days at one stage) unless I was going to another theme park that week. After that time changes to the industry I work in put a stop to weekends off and as such to my attending parks so frequently. I will still get to MW once every three weeks tops and to other parks (SW, DW) once a year or so, however while my once a week trips were from open to close, these days they are more limited to 10am to 1pm as apart from the rollercoasters there is not much more to soak up the time. My typical day (towards the end of frequent trips) used to be: SDSC, WWF, PASS, Superman, Lethal, Lunch, Street Performances, PASS, BATR, Parade, PASS, LTRR and then repeat anything I wanted to do again. These days it is: GL, HWSD, Lunch, WB Kids Zone, look through shops, head home.
  10. As one of the three rides the little man can go on (Tweety Cages, Yosemite Railway and the WB Carousel), we would. I can't say I have a favourite ride. They all have their plus and minus, some days you feel like riding a certain one or two, other days you don't. Ask again once JL is open and i may have an answer to this question.
  11. I always thought they should have updated the Movie Magic Stage to a Matrix based special effects, maybe show how it used to be done and then the new ways they bring it to life. Hell they could still do it and show the rig they used to bring the Bat to life if they want to keep adding DC related attractions.
  12. Again, thought nothing of it at the time, but it does add fuel to the fire however loosely in regards to this rumour. I doubt they would change it from WBMW. However with small elements of the HWSD having been removed and the fact it is a smaller budget "ripoff" of the LMA show, it is now basically 10 minutes of figure 8 drifting with some 2 wheel driving and a motorcycle doing a few wheelies back and forth. If I wanted to see that (not the 2 wheel driving) I would just go down the coast on a Friday and Saturday night.
  13. Every time I post I get targetted... What is wrong with people here? Others post bull faecal matter rumours, I post fact. Their comments get praise, mine negativity. Sorry to point out the factual crap that occurs, but at least I don't generate tripe that has no backing whatsoever. I didn't post this when I occured because I thought nothing of it, but posted it now as in a way it shows some support, however loosely, to this current rumour.
  14. I know it is basically reaching just thought it was interesting given this rumour. It wasn't just one staff member, it was 3 different staff from different areas of the park. And I thought it was an odd comment to make as well, but there was no discussion prior, just me with my Marvel Heroes shirt (basically the Avengers plus a couple of others).
  15. Probably nothing but, was at MW 2 weeks ago and had a lot of staff comment on the Marvel Heroes shirt I was wearing saying "You do know you are at a DC park?" Wouldn't have thought much of it except it was at Scooby, HWSD and WB Kids Zone, not in the DC area. If removing HWSD is correct and replacing with a Batman show it adds fuel to the idea previously mentioned in the forums of turning MW into a new park completely DC themed. Of anything they could have rethemed LW they went Arkham. Everything they have added (outside the Roxy movie changes) over the last few years has been DC related. Sure all the DC movies have been WB related but there have been more than just DC movies from WB over the last few years. Why is there nothing based on them?
  16. We went on Sunday. All the main rides were 45min - 1hr wait times and that was during the HWSD morning show.
  17. We just plug the vhs into our computer use a screen capture program and then burn to dvd. Very simple process to do at home. As I said though, can't find the old vhs as it was before I moved out of my parents place many years ago. They have since moved and whether or not they kept the particular tape I don't know.
  18. Just reading through the wikipedia of Movie World to notice it is rife with inaccuracy and missing quite a few attractions through its history including Superstars Live! and the Harry Potter experience. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warner_Bros._Movie_World
  19. Looking back at it, other than the 2 loops it was not much at all. In saying that though it was the first rollercoaster I even went on and sadly my wife was too small to go on it before it was closed and later removed. I think it's time to get back to RCT3 and re-ride it utilizing dads movie projector.
  20. I must admit... I wept a little watching the Dreamworld 1988 ad. Brought back so many memories as a little kid getting my first ride on Thunderbolt, the policeman checking my "license" on the Model T Fords, the barbershop quartet signing in Rivertown, the minecart... Those were the days. When we were too young to care about costs, companies, record breaking rides. We felt like we were walking right into a land that could only be created in our dreams. I had the old MW souvenir video that had a hidden message which you had to pause the tape at the right times throughout to piece it together. A friend and I also taped a whole Police Academy Stunt Show back in 2000 from two different sections of the audience and pieced it together. Wish I could find it and convert it to dvd.
  21. I had one ride where a guy the row in front of me had snuck his camera on. He held it above his head at the launch. I remember it flying over my head as we took off. Was in the last carriage so doubt any injury occured. Also know that a bag has fallen out of a carriage on Scooby, reportedly cracking one of the mirrors on the floor.
  22. I used to go into the park on my solo days with just my car key and my annual pass. I had pants that had zip up and press clip pockets which I put them in. If asked by an attendant I told them I had the stuff and showed the pockets and explained I had no cash on me and had only brought those 2 things into the park today. Majority of times they allowed me to continue onto the ride.
  23. No age restrictions but every ride has its own height restrictions on riding alone or with an adult. However with the taxis and bumper cars obviously you don't have room for parents which is why I found it interesting they don't post this information on their website.
  24. So we were heading down to Helensvale Shopping Centre on Thursday and the wife decided we should call in to MW so she could go on a ride or two since she hasn't been able to for the last 9 months. Of course the park was busy and Green Lantern was down (again or still) so she ended up not going on anything, until we wandered through to the WB Kids Zone and she decided it would be nice to take bub on his first ride in the Carousel. 9 days old and already hitting the rides. Then headed to the Ice Age 4D and must say I LOVE the fact they have returned Roxy to the 50's / 60's feel of an old theatre. Even the girl working the attraction had her hair done in an era relevant style. It is small attention to detail like this that impresses me about MW. Movie itself was well done, would have been nice to have been able to sit in a motion chair but as the little man was sleeping in my arms was not an option. Small side note: Checked the website to see if there was anything bub could go on. States WB Kids Zone has no age restriction... But the taxis, sylvester bounce and tweety cages all have restrictions posted (which is fair enough). Obviously at 9 days old it makes no difference to us now but for someone with a 4 year old thinking they can get on anything in that area only to read otherwise at each attraction is something that may cause an issue at some stage. Also Journey to the Centre of the Earth is still listed on the restrictions page. Hopefully this is corrected soon.
