  1. They bought seaviper to replace cyclone? or is it that the mushrooms are coming back to the log ride?
  2. Well I did try to look it up, and the only thing I could find (without trying to find an actual regulation about it) was something saying a court could charge anywhere up to $100,000 ($500 for personal infringements) and my previous employer had advised us it was a 75k fine. Please though, prove me wrong and show me, I'm genuinely curious.
  3. If they use that to fill the pool, isn't that about a $75000 fine or something ridiculous like that?
  4. Yes he did. He became the immediate past president of the being alive club. But I read the report and doesn't it say that was the most likely reason, but they were not able to confirm it with certainty? (Admittedly I did read it late at night though so I might be wrong)
  5. Contributing safety factors • The operator did not have a procedure in place to ensure independent crosschecking of the helicopter’s fuel quantity. [Minor safety issue] • At takeoff, there was insufficient fuel on board the helicopter to ensure the safe completion of the flight. • The pilot did not associate the illumination of the FUEL PUMP warning light with a possible low fuel state because of his previous experience where such illuminations were a consequence of electrical system faults. • The combination of low altitude, airspeed and main rotor RPM meant that there was insufficient energy in the main rotor for the pilot to arrest the descent rate prior to landing. Other safety factors • The helicopter’s fuel gauge may have been over reading. • The pilot deactivated the caution lights on the annunciator panel, which also deactivated the low rotor RPM warning horn. • The low fuel quantity approaching the helipad increased the risk that any unusual attitudes or out-of-balance flight may uncover the fuel boost pump(s). I guess this is a good thing.... Action taken by the helicopter operator The operator no longer operates any aircraft in Australia. Full report - It's an interesting read..... http://www.atsb.gov.au/media/2492711/ao2009026.pdf
  6. I hope the guy that under-fuelled it got his ass handed to him. I wouldn't be surprised if it came back to being a cost-cutting measure though. Keeping in mind airlines are notorious for only just putting enough fuel in to get to their destination +~30mins hold time to save money.
  7. That's what I remember it being too. That comes down to human error. The chopper doesn't go fuel itself up. It's amazing in this day and age that we still rely on people to calculate the fuel load themselves on aircraft. (Unless that's been changed since last time I watched air crash investigation.....which happened to be on a flight to the USA in 2011 lol)
  8. It's a shame it (I think) was human error in the end, but a good landing in the circumstances
  9. See now you're just confusing everyone. Who are you talking to? "anything of mine that he has dismissed" "negativity from my end?" If you're going to rant, get it right. But yes, feel free to PM me, I could use a laugh.
  10. You forgot to add BREAKING NEWS: to your post. Please try again.
  11. Shit Brad, get it together man. What an ass. I got no idea what he's talking about either though. I guess at some point in the past you've pointed out a mistake of his and he's bitter or something. Looking at his post history, July 5 is the only time I can see him quoting you on anything recently. But since we're dragging up the past, remember back in nineteen-dickity-two when you first signed up? Yeah, something you said back there was .......rude....or something.....anyway, I hate you now and you need to be nice.......or something As far as Aussie park accidents go, we've spoken on Dreamworld and Luna Park. What else have we got? I don't recall seeing the Dreamworld chopper crash mentioned, or the Seaworld chopper hi-jacking either.
  12. Cheers for that And also, thank you Spotty for the info
  13. Don't forget the classic - "You got my kid too excited and he ran and tripped over so now I'm suing you"
  14. Here you go. It's a bit of a dodgy cover up but you get the idea. https://www.dropbox.com/s/c0ox9lt530p9jc2/park.jpg
  15. So you mean basically every ski lift style chair lift in existence? It's just sad really that common sense doesn't seem to belong to everyone these days
  16. I do hope they add an extra maze though. The 4 they have are excellent usually but it would be nice to have just one more to soak up the crowd.
  17. If you read his post in the other thread. A tourist was "killed" on the chairlift. (See MickeyD's response though)
  18. ooh ooh me! pick me! me! sir! pick me sir!!!!
  19. I really really really hope they don't get it. For me it ruined Corkscrew and I don't want the same thing to happen to Cyclone.
  20. ^ Why would this need to be a joke thread? Can you not comprehend that someone may come on a theme park forum to ask a question related to theme parks that they may not have been to and might want some advice on? OP - I think djrappa has pretty much covered it for you, I'd suggest checking out some reviews and POV videos on youtube so you know what's in store (if you don't mind the spoilers).
  21. Make sure you point out the accident at the Adelaide show involving a similar ride. Hopefully it will scare the idiots away from the parks.
  22. I assume you mean speed2 and freestyle. I can't help but think surely some of these are accidentally added twice. It makes sense to have multiple dodgems but that's it.
