  1. Meanwhile in the real world, I'm about to tuck into a delicious cheese and herb pork schnitzel parmagana with chips right now at Schnitz. That would work.
  2. I don't know how to win an argument with you and I'm really not at all interested in trying to.
  3. It's just better quality food. Quite honestly the quality of even the burgers and fries at the existing outlets is poor. Also, I don't know what makes you think I'd complain if it took 30 minutes for my meal to be served (which I've never experienced at Schnitz) but personally I value the quality of my food more than the speed of service. I guess you just jumped to another wild and pointless conclusion, for no reason, based on nothing, as usual. I know good value and good quality dining is possible at theme parks because I've experienced it. Just not in Australia.
  4. It is Disney so it's reasonable to assume that it features some great effects. Nevertheless, $120 ($30 each) is just way over the top for what's really just a game of mini golf! I might consider up to $20 each maximum if I knew the effects were mind-blowing.
  5. It's the sort of food outlet I believe would work well in a theme park. I have a feeling that a silver service a la carte restaurant might not be quite what most guests at Movie World are looking for. Again though, I might be wrong. If I am then I hope people enjoy their lobsters and champagne after watching the "stuntless show" and riding the no-scooby not so spooky coaster.
  6. It's an existing building with an existing kitchen. Certainly needs sprucing up, but if there was sufficient demand they'd make the money to pay for it quite quickly. Anyway, this isn't really about maintenance so that's all from me on this!
  7. One of the businesses I have managed was a restaurant, so strangely enough I do know what I'm talking about! Have I toured the kitchens at AOS? No, but I have seen them and they're big! Why would they have built AOS with kitchens that are not large enough to prep the food? Anyway. Not my problem! I'm a guest, not the catering manager. As a customer, I have said what I want, and it's good quality food at a competitive price. I doubt I'm the only one who would eat in the park if this was available, but who knows? Maybe I am! If I am the only one (or one of just a small number), then of course, it wouldn't make sense for Movie World to offer such options.
  8. Ok but wasn't there food available at Stars Bar when it was open? Regardless, there's another decent commercial kitchen in Ricks / team diner that can be used for functions.
  9. I think it's reasonable to assume that you're intelligent enough to see the obvious alternative so I won't explain it to you as if you're an idiot! As for kitchen space being used to prep for AOS, I know there's ample kitchen space for that at AOS so not an issue.
  10. On a very slightly different note, I've been thinking lately that the building at the front of Movie World (was Stars Bar, and more recently a discount merchandise shop) would be fantastic if they lease it to a good quality, reasonably priced restaurant franchise. One of my favorites which I think would be very popular with guests is Schnitz (a good range of schnitzels with chips or salad). Something like that would actually persuade me to have lunch at the park quite often. I'm sure I'm not the only one! Currently the dining options are limited and not all that tempting when compared to what's available outside the park. The building is sitting there unused, so what's to lose by giving this a shot?
  11. That's exactly what I do when I fly anywhere. If you're not in a hurry I've heard that some airlines have cheaper prices on certain days each week. It could be worth monitoring several of the cheapest for a couple of weeks to see if you notice a pattern.
  12. Ok. I'll switch it off. It's all wired wrong anyway.
  13. How much does it cost to have a terrible photo taken?
  14. You never know. It might just get a late surge.
  15. Yep. I still say the Jurassic Park ride looks way better. It just has a lot more atmospherics. Shame, as I actually think the Jurassic World movie is better than the Jurassic Park ones! Perhaps they needed more space to do a proper job of it.
  16. Were those issues also present before the refurbishment then? If not, it's a downgrade!
  17. From the description by AlexB I'd have to agree that it's very much a downgrade. Like I said, I've never been on so only have this thread to go by.
  18. I've never been on the old one or this one, but if I had I'd hate this one too. In fact, it sounds like they've done a similar job with it to what Movie World has with Scooby!
  19. Looks like it would have been a very nice attraction!
  20. Sort of like a massively improved version of Wild West Falls!
  21. Very good question, to which of course I have no inside information to go on. I do know from personal experience that managers often don't have the budget necessary to do their job effectively, or have other constraints in organisational structure / policy which prevent them doing so.
  22. Their response tells me absolutely nothing. It's just a standard response used by many businesses on social media when there's either no information to provide, or there is but the person responding doesn't know it or isn't allowed to share it.
  23. While I sympathise with anyone in that position (having been made redundant myself 2 years ago from my ideal job), I do wonder what the entertainment manager was actually doing at Dreamworld, where there's very little entertainment normally!
