  1. Well I rode some woodies on my UK trip. Grand National was very rough (though it's airtime made up for it). However, it's neighboring wooden coasters Big Dipper and Nickelodeon Streak were much smoother yet still retained that classic woodie feel. Now I haven't been on Voyage, but from what I hear it could really do with being smoother (though they have done trackwork on it and plan to, someday, maybe, but timberliners on it). My point is, a wooden coaster can be a good wooden coaster without beating you to death. Just my opinion. By the way, if we ever get a woodie it'll likely be a GCI which are supposedly very smooth.
  2. I'm personally inclined to call this an overbank rather than an inversion, but either way it'll kick ass. To be honest, if Thorpe Park can get away with calling the Swarm's Inclined Loop/Helix an inversion when it doesn't even come close to going upside down then I'll accept the element on the woodie being called an inversion. Because I went to Disneyland yesterday and it opens on the 13th.
  3. I know some roughness on a woodie is good, but Voyage is really quite brutal beyond what's acceptable.
  4. It's a shame Grizzly won't be open when I go. Oh well, guess I'll just lap Space Mountain and RC Racer
  5. Looks awesome! I'm stopping in Hong Kong for a 8 hour layover on the way back to Australia from UK next Thursday. I'm going to be begging my mum to take me to Disneyland now! EDIT: Wait, the website says it isn't opening until July the 14th? Was the POV filmed in a media preview or something?
  6. Funnel Web Falls looks incredible, a huge step up from a standard funnel slide.
  7. Last time I checked Dreamworld don't care about capacity, *cough* Buzzsaw *cough*.
  8. Well I am, and if he does happen to be 13 I apologise on behalf of my awful generation.
  9. It'd be awesome to see another major attraction, but considering we got Buzzsaw, Shockwave and Dreamworks in the last 12 months I can't see it happening.
  10. I'm in UK at the moment and I rode the Swarm today. I have to say it's a fairly good ride, some surprising intensity on the first drop and the inline twist, and it's very smooth throughout. Australia really needs a wing rider.
  11. Nope. http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/story/2011/12/08/aussie-world-first-water-ride-the-plunge/
  12. To be serious though I'm glad they built the shed, it looks great. By the way, is there any news of that $1 million attraction that Aussie World said they'd be getting sometime this year?
  13. Just realised I posted that in the wrong thread. The GL thread and AASK thread are practically the same right now.
  14. Both Busch Gardens parks (Tampa, Florida and Williamsburg, Virginia), Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio), Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, New Jersey) and Hersheypark (Hershey, Pennsylvania) are some must visit parks IMO. There are plenty of others but those are the ones that stick out the most in my mind.
  15. Not available any of those days. Oh well, you guys will have to have fun without me.
  16. The Dippin Dots guy thing is a joke. It originated from people saying things like "Oh I heard from (park employee) that the new ride will be (insert ride here)" on the internet about different theme parks. So the joke has been spread with the Dippin Dots guy used as an example as a park employee.
  17. Or was giving away too much information about new rides :/
  18. Well since I've only been on 3 times I guess I need another 2 rides to finally get one with audio
  19. Not to mention the fact that Mick Doohan's Thigh Crusher isn't exactly the most comfortable ride...
  20. I know GL's audio definitely works but I don't think I've ever been lucky enough to have a ride with it. Maybe its just not loud enough for me to hear?
  21. Skyrush looks awesome, and hearing from reports it definitely sounds like one of the top coasters in the world, up there with Bizarro and Expedition GeForce. Here's a POV of a Mack family launched coaster called Manta opening soon at Sea World San Diego.
