  1. I just think they should be more careful as not to draw anymore negative attention to themselves, especially knowing the media will be all over this reopening day.
  2. The Big Red Car, Teacups and Giggle & Hoot Bounce are not listed as being open on Saturday - only the ABC World area itself, including the maze and ship.
  3. The wording is very misleading to say the least, especially the last line here: "The Dreamworld attractions re-opening from 10 December include all WhiteWater World slides and pools along with the park’s wildlife areas, entertainment and family attractions in DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, ABC KIDS WORLD and the Motorsports Experience.Other rides will progressively open at Dreamworld as they are signed off by the safety review process." By stating that "other rides" will open progressively would indicate that at least one "ride" in Dreamworld will be open on the day, which according to the list is not true. The statement should;d have read "Dreamworld's rides will progressively open..."
  4. I think the comment in the article was relating to raising funds for Kate's 2 daughters - "a crowd funding page which raised more than $67,000 for Ms Goodchild's two daughters"
  5. They could make speed comparisons with Superman Escape in other ways though - e.g. "There is only one thing faster than superman, The Flash Coaster coming December 2017" or something along those lines.
  6. I'm wondering if it would have much greater implications, could Lego decide to pull out all together? Could other properties decide to cancel their licensing agreements with the park (Dreamworks, ABC, Wiggles, Hotwheels etc)?
  7. I doubt that the construction workers responsible for the footings would have any specifics on the coaster itself.
  8. From the ACCC: Wildly exaggerated claims (puffery) ‘Puffery’ is a term used to describe wildly exaggerated or vague claims about a product or service that no one could possibly treat seriously. For example, a restaurant claims they have the ‘best steaks on earth’. These types of statements are not considered misleading.
  9. It's good to hear it is being replaced so quickly.
  10. In the case of the Jet Rescue Coaster the 'landscaping' is what contributes to the theme of the ride though, by enhancing the illusion of riding a jet-ski around a rocky shoreline, The ride also includes the tunnel with the seal figure inside and sound effects, this to me is good 'themeing' for a track portion of a coaster. The compressed gravel under the GL and SE would also be considered 'landscaping' but in no way contributes to the theme of the ride.
  11. I think the Storm Coaster at Sea World is one of the best themed roller coasters in Australia (both the queue and the ride itself), the Jet Rescue has a decently themed track, however the queue and station lets it down.
  12. Has anyone got a video they could share?
  13. You can wear your prescription glasses in the superman queue and then hand them to a staff member once seated on the train.
  14. I would say this was the most likely scenario.
  15. That "nearmap image" on the previous page is a Google Earth image, you can even see the Google watermark over it. Nearmap just overlays google earth images to "fill in" the gaps for areas they don't cover (As already mentioned they only service Australia and the US.)
  16. The new marked entry on this is down near the Australian Wildlife Experience, and is after vintage cars (as to get to the vintage cars you have to cross the creek). The "brown" number 8 section sitting separate to the rest of the park is the dreamworld eucalyptus tree farm and vintage cars location. This is the latest nearmap image (May) of the BB house, it seems like they went to an effort to go around the house when clearing and making the boundary fences so why would they suddenly demolish it now?
  17. Why go through all the trouble of creating a detailed CG model like that and not actually "animate" it for the commercial. From the comments here it is hinted at that these will be the figures used for the "interactive elements" around the ride.
  18. I would bet that there will be a large scale figure, similar to one in early concept art for the Doomsday Tower. The Doomsday character is already featured in the promotional material (website/park signage), so it would most likely be that version
  19. If you read my comment you would see I stated a clearance checker for themeing that is yet to be added or still being made.
  20. I'd say the spear is just another "clearance checker" - either for the riders legs or for additional themeing elements that are being made for that space.
  21. You are allowed to line up with your glasses on, they will just place them in a basket and pass them through to the unload station for you.
  22. Just a bit of a side note, Any physical passport application forms (collected from Aus Post) are changing as of tomorrow (July 1st), so any of these old forms will no longer be accepted for processing. But if you downloaded your forms online from the Government website your good to go!
