  1. I used to frequent the GC for the GC600 and back in the day indycar. You'll find on the weekends when the racing is on that the parks won't be as busy. But the few days beforehand and after the race the parks might be a little busier with some race goers staying behind. Having said that in the past it's not terribly noticeable that the parks are a little busier during these times anyway.
  2. If you did not see that shop going then you need to visit specsavers.
  3. I think the wildest attraction we will ever see at Scenic World would be the railway or the cable car. Gotta remember the national park (where scenic world is) is protected. So I don't see anything major like an alpine coaster occuring. Plus enthusiast would get upset they it would be slow thanks to all the tourist.
  4. 100% right @Jdude95. I mean they are doing annual maintenance. It's a part of life unfortunately. I know @AlexB and I discussed this either in this thread or elsewhere. It makes sense to do the maintenance during the cooler periods where not many if any guest turn up. Also means they save on staffing cost. Essentially it is actually a win for the park. Save on wages, gets important maintenance done.
  5. You will find that they place a particular number of rafts out to control the flow of people per hour. Plus the fact they know it'll be a real bitch for people to carry those rafts up to the top. I know these conveyors are expensive and can be difficult to maintain but they keep the guest happy. It's a great slide. Plus the height will most likely allow for family to utilize this attraction also. Even tho the conveyor wont be installed its still a win win for the park thats for sure.
  6. It does need some TLC. Would be great if the effects would constantly work.
  7. Good fun ride experience. But a shame the conveyor is not being installed. Those clover leaf rafts are really fricken annoying to carry. I am sure people will have a lot of fun getting them up the stairs and around tight corners.
  8. I am sure given time the slides in WWW will get a tidy up. Parks been around a while now and naturally things fade and birds will shit on things.
  9. Looks like the green room is getting some serious work done to it. Similar work that is being done down the road at WnW. The painting is the easy part. I wonder how much bracing is being repaired and replaced. I know some at WnW was. I think Proslide might be in the country also.
  10. They really need another dry ride. I would have thought an Alpine Coaster would have been a great way to replace the old toboggan. But you never do know what the future holds. Interesting to see what other things have want to go ahead with in the future. I know the plans have changed a little over the years. I like the idea of things changing as it keeps everyone on their toes.
  11. I have waited a long time for this huge announcement about the wacky worm coaster.
  12. He is coming back. I will just wait for him to return. The shops only five minutes away. Yep.........he will be back soon.
  13. So much cheaper to close a tower during the winter period. Also makes it easier to perform fiberglass repairs and fix joint issues up. Sure be annoyed that both water parks are somewhat closed. But it's much safer to do so now instead of during peak period thats for sure.
  14. One set of apartment are around 20 years old tho that have recently suffered an issue.....
  15. Good to know park management was onsite today. Can't always let the work experience kid be in charge.
  16. @AlexB is right in what he said. Bringing in an outside franchise won't work. Dominos pizza left WnW & SW due to poor profits and VRTP taking their little slice of the pizza. I think MW is fine with its dining option and fast food options. I know I don't go to a theme park for a three-course meal. If you really struggle to find cheap food remember Mcdonalds and Hungry Jacks are on the other side of the motorway. Sure they are outside the park but its cheaper.
  17. I am completely assuming cracks have been found in the main support arms. Shouldn't have been this long unless they are either repairing it or replacing the ride maybe.
  18. It is indeed a mystery. A sad one nevertheless. Having worked at the park it was one of those topics you would be quizzed about on a regular basis when the park reopened in 2004. It is just sad that an answer can't be given. Only theories.
