  1. Yep there is a dam there, you're just viewing an older image from google Earth
  2. Honestly the Catatonic VR was just part of the VR craze that's going around theme parks at the moment, I doubt we'll hear of it again because if it's not in use any more this year I'm sure by the time fright nights rolls around next year the craze will well and truly be over and there'll be new things for them to do.
  3. You climb a ladder through the roof and jump off the side of the station building
  4. The thing with that though is that you can't just do all the VR stuff off the train, I noticed a lot of the problems with AA was the VR not detecting the code on the seat in-front, and that can't be done out of the train. They did all they could off the train (adjusting size and focus) but that's something that has to be done while everyone is on the train.
  5. I really like @Tim Dasco's idea. Yes, it requires more staff, but as he said a large coaster like this is going to take a lot of staff in the first place and I'm sure MW could make the effort to have one or two more staff. I'm pretty sure 3-train operation is what Tim means, you wouldn't add a second station unless you had 3 or more trains going at once. Maybe best to just drop this whole VR thing, the chances of it being added initially are very low even if it is optimised to VR and might see it a few years after opening.
  6. Exaggeration is a personal thing - one person might think it deserves all the hype, while the fellow next door might not enjoy it as much and think of it as overhyped. Whether it's being exaggerated or not, I'm sure it's going to be one of, if not the best addition to MW we've seen. That's something that the exaggeration of an announcement won't affect.
  7. Looks like it will be a great addition for Aussie World, especially if they stick to the concept art!
  8. I've never heard that before, what I've heard is that the non-VR single rider lines are just as short on VR coasters than it would be otherwise.
  9. Honestly I see no problem with or without VR. If it's got VR and you don't want VR, I don't see what's so hard about not riding with VR...??? I don't understand why you guys are reacting so much to the possibility of it. Is it unnecessary? Yes, two VR rides in a park is probably overkill, but does it have an adverse effect on anything (other than efficiency)? No.
  10. There would definitely be more than one person for each character, if a person was sick I'd think they'd be able to find a replacement wouldn't they? It could very well be an OHS issue or something along the lines of...
  11. I think where @Tim Dasco means is out here. I'm pretty sure Maintainence and Sculpture Studios are already back there, and there's a fair bit of land still there. I'd say if MW were ever going to expand their park (in the far future), I think that's where they would go, so relocating offices to back there could definitely work. Plus, you've also got the trees across the Paradise Country road that could easily be cleared for an expansion too.
  12. Awesome And slow Would be quicker to drive or even catch public transport
  13. Fantastic live stream as always @Theme Park Girl, you know how much I love them.
  14. I think most of the enthusiast community at least see MW on top already. Not sure about the GP but you're right about DW's marketing probably making a lot of people assume it's the best.
  15. You can tell someone's from Perth Possibly, but definitely not as fantastic as it is now. It would be a very short ride which would definitely take it down to around ToT's level. Agree wholeheartedly with what's been said above.
  16. Doomsday ads have been popping up on some of Brisbane's busses.
  17. Something I never noticed while riding, but looking at that video I wish the paint on the geysers was the same as the falling rocks...
  18. Honestly, please stop being impatient. Be thankful you've been given so much and take a look at what updates we're getting in other threads - Fright Nights, the lego store, everything. Those taking photos, TPG, Ninja, themagician, Janine, and everyone else I'm forgetting, they've all been hard at work trying to update us on everything happening at the parks so please stop bugging everyone about something where there's probably nothing new since the last photos. Stop acting like a kid and if you're so impatient go take some photos yourself (and don't post them here because I'm pretty sure there'd be nothing different from what we've seen).
  19. The round structure certainly looks interesting, great that's it's starting to go upwards and I look forward to seeing more over the next few weeks.
  20. (answers to your questions are yes and yes btw)
  21. Ouch. Poor review. The ride isn't made to be intense or thrilling, just fun. It's meant to cater to both younger thrillseekers and older ones accustomed to crazy intense rollercoasters, and I think it achieves that perfectly.
