  1. Can confirm that Creatures of the Deep is going where Dinosaur Island was (Photo source: The Theme Park Social Network)
  2. ^What you say about DW doing this to get people talking could be true. It could be their way of giving us a teaser. I would say that they couldn't open the ride in its current state. They would have to put a new track in, update the control system and fix up the cave.
  3. Maybe they are cleaning the inside of it out, for work to begin. Or we are overthinking all of this.
  4. ^They did. But there is always the possibility of replacing all the track, queue system and cave mould around the outside of the ride. It would be costly, but there is always the possibility.
  5. If they were going to link it to the current kids area they could build something on the reclaimed that is closet to the current kids area. But I do think that the SV land would also be a good area, providing there are enough attractions in that area. I do remember seeing a press release interview with one of the staff members from SW about the TMNT. He did say that there would more attractions coming themed around the TMNT. There could be a possibility that the SV land could be a new area with rides themed around Nickelodeon. The current kids area could be something for younger kids (1-5), and then the new area could be targeted for older kids (6-10) (Ages are just a rough estimate).
  6. That's good news. It has been a while since a kids ride was installed and a kids roller coaster is even better.
  7. I think it would be alright if DW just once evey week or two went around the edge of the lake and tries to get some rubbish out. Regarding the algae, all DW would have to do is install a paddle wheel in a couple of places around the lake and that would keep it cleaner looking.
  8. No, it was just a general comment. I am just saying I like a ride to make me feel like I'm somewhere else. WWF does it, SE does it, AA does it. A lot of rides do it. I'm not saying that everything else has to be hidden. When on WWF as you come to the water container that gets shot and water comes out, you sometimes see a float.
  9. It's not a major thing, it's just when riding the WWF and you have the western theming and then there is suddenly this float which doesn't fit. It doesn't effect how much I love the ride, but like at DW where there were mushrooms on the Rocky Hollow ride. It just effects the themeing and feel of the ride. When I'm a ride, if the theming is good, I want to feel like I've been transported to somewhere else, not a theme park. WWF does that for me, until I see the floats.
  10. In my opinion I don't think DW will remove the cyclone any time soon. In the mean time it just needs some TLC. Unless they built another coaster in another location, I can't see them removing it. The cyclone track fits perfectly around WWW, so unless they just remove it, then they won't replace it with another coaster in that same location.
  11. I would say that it is floats. I've seen them a few times behind the fencing of the Western area of WWF. You don't alwyas see them, but I personally would like them to raise the height of the fence, so that we can't see them.
  12. ^According to the Dreamworld website its 12pm-4pm. It is one of the more popular rides in the park so it seems really stupid to only have to open for 4 hours. I personally think that if they aren't going to open all the rides when the park opens then it should be within the first hour.
  13. Jet Resuce is Closed for maintenance from Mon 2nd Feb and will re-open Mon 16th Mar 2015.
  14. Yes. I didn't realise it finished last night. Looks like they will be updating their website again.
  15. Dreamworld have updated the ride opening times to suit their extended opening hours. Good to see the majority of the rides are open for most of the day.
  16. Vintage cars are now only open from 12pm, but Rocky Hollow is still from 12am
  17. People will be glad to know that after they ride the Vintage Cars at 12am they will then be able to head over to the Rocky Hollow Log Ride and ride that as well.
  18. Dreamworld's website has received a make over. I like its fresh new look: Their maintenance schedule has also been released: DRONKEY FLYERS: 01/02/2015 - 07/02/2015 OGRE-GO-ROUND: 01/02/2015 - 07/02/2015 PUSS IN BOOTS SWORD SWING: 08/02/2015 - 14/02/2015 SHOCKWAVE: 15/02/2015 - 28/02/2015 WIPEOUT: 01/03/2015 - 21/03/2015 GINGY'S GLIDER: 15/03/2015 - 21/03/2015 ROCKY HOLLOW LOG RIDE: 22/03/2015 - 04/04/2015 BUZZSAW: 26/04/2015 - 23/05/2015 THUNDER RIVER RAPIDS: 24/05/2015 - 06/06/2015 DOROTHY'S ROSY TEA CUP RIDE: 07/06/2015 - 13/06/2015 MICK DOOHAN'S MOTOCOASTER: 07/06/2015 - 13/06/2015 ESCAPE FROM MADAGASCAR: 14/06/2015 - 27/06/2015 THE GIANT DROP: 26/07/2015 - 15/08/2015 PANDAMONIUM: 23/08/2015 - 05/09/2015 TOWER OF TERROR II: 06/09/2015 - 19/09/2015 THE CLAW: 18/10/2015 - 31/10/2015 CYCLONE: 18/10/2015 - 21/11/2015 TAIL SPIN: 01/11/2015 - 14/11/2015
  19. With the WWF closed for 2 months I'd imagine they will be giving a fresh coat of paint.
  20. ^Thanks for those photos. I am starting to think we may see something start to be built on this land this year. Maybe it could be a part of the Creatures of the Deep attraction. You can see that some fencing has been taken down and construction screens are in its place. And there is the what appears to be some gravelled area to the left, so maybe something will be put on there.
  21. I have never been on a wooden coaster before, so I'm just curious what makes them so good?
