It now says on the Dreamworld website that Wipeout won't be reopening until July 2014.

Oh really. Well there you go then. I'm looking forward to all of these. I'm looking forward to this. I hope the make over will be for the cyclone. The new Big 9 thrill ride will either be replacing the Reef Diver or Mine Ride and the waterside will obviously be going out the back of WWW, behind the little rippers. I hope the water slide is something that hasn't been seen on the Gold Coast before.
-
Well. I don't think there will be a new thrill ride. But I do hope they replace the Reef Diver. I also don't think that we will see any new water slides this year. Maybe next year instead. And yes I would like to see the makeover of the two attractions. We have already got one, so why not the other.

As I have said before, I find it the most uncomfortable ride on the Gold Coast. I have got bruises from the ride before. I just think it needs a new train. When it goes up the lift hill it is quite slow and you always seem to go back a bit before the next pull. Also when it comes back into the station, it stops and then goes and then stops and goes and stops again. Why can't they just fix these small issues and then I would go on the ride again.

Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster fire and lighting effects
themagician replied to Spotty's topic in Theme Park Discussion
thats alright alex. I do think the volume should be turned back up a bit because sometimes you can hardly hear it. It would also be good if they had a few extra coloured lasers. Another thing. It seems every time I go on it the.breaking is really hard or nice and smooth, why isn't it ever the same? -

Besides the lasers and smoke, are there any other major components to the ride that have changed since opening day -
What would you like to see at Gold Coast Theme Parks soon?
themagician replied to Santa07's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't think they will get another ride in this area. I would like to see a new western themed show. -
I think it is just a shadow of a shark, within the wave

Did you notice any more difference in Wipeout?

Hasn't the boat been moved a couple of times though?

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?

I would also class Scooby Doo as a family ride. I always see plenty of people of all ages on it. And yes it is a dark ride. It's indoors and it's pretty dark in most sections -
Dreamworld just need to install a few small paddle wheel systems, just to keep the water turning and much cleaner.

Hahaha very good Alex. Just wondering, what is the old china town enteramce being used for? I have seen food carts coming out of there, so are they just stored there and that is it?

I did think there were changes, but after looking at the other photo, I was wrong. -

I know it doesn't look like much, but in my opinion it seems like they may be starting work soon. Or maybe I'm just hoping that something will happen to much. This may just be what it has looked like for a few months now, for all I know. -

The Theme Park Social Network have posted this and it looks like there is some work going on. -
I emailed them and they said this: Unfortunately the effect of fire has not been commissioned for the Storm Coaster; regrettably it was not known it would not be in effect until after the television ad was made. Sorry to cause you any disappointment. The idea of fire has not been completely ruled at this stage so feel free to contact us again in the future for any updates.

I would rather they didn't do anything at all then. And before they do any of this, they need to turn the Danger sign upside down.
-
I don't think much happened after it rained a lot of the day. I would just say there may be some fencing all the way around it.
-
So does that mean we will see fire one day?

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
themagician replied to WED99's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah something similar to that. Obviously it won't be as big, but I think it will be a great addition to the park, something that the whole family can enjoy. -
I am disappointed then. Yes I do think that Storm Coaster is a good ride, but it would have been even better if they had the fire effects. When they first announced that this ride would be coming soon they said it would have amazing water and fire effects. Well we have good water effects outside, just before the final splash down. We have the dump bucket that doesn't entirely get you depending on where you are sat. And no fire effects. Storm is a good ride, which pretty good theming, but it would be better if they had these extra things, especially since the inside section of the ride isn't very big.

Maybe a roller coaster like that one would be a good idea. It could have a story to the ride and it slows down and speeds up throughout different sections. There could be animatronics looney tunes characters that could be guiding you through the ride and saying things like "look out" and "over there". Eg. The ride could speed up to get away from TNT as the Kyote is lighting some. That's just an idea. -
I agree with you on that one. It would be good if they had some of the theming closer to the boats. It doesn't matter if there is or isn't fire on, there could still be parts of theming that doesn't need fire. Something I noticed on the tv advert was the fire effects. I don't know if this was recorded in from inside the ride or not (I think it is), but it would seem that the gasolines are all there and connection, they just aren't turned on. Maybe it is just issues with the council. (fire effect is 15 seconds in)
