  1. That’s what it said last year too. The park is open from the September school holidays to the Easter school holidays
  2. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with you on this, but curious to hear more of your reasoning?
  3. Surfrider will be closed until September. That means it has been closed for 3.5 years.
  4. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this yet, but a bit of trivia for everyone. The lockers for the ride are actually the old lockers from the Wipeout. They were kept because they were still in perfect condition. They just had a bit of work done and a repaint.
  5. Off the top of my head there is one at the WB Park in Abu Dhabi
  6. I remember having the pizza a couple years ago and it was nice. I thought the price was a lot for one slice, but it’s a pretty big slice with a lot of toppings. I would be more inclined to get the chicken over the pizza though. It may cost more but it’s more of a meal.
  7. In the family suspended layout I do love how the track dives underground, I’ve always wanted a coaster on the GC to do that (I know ST sort of does, but not entirely). I do hope one of the parks gets a dive coaster one day (I think DW would be a good choice because it could be too similar to GL if MW got it). But the one coaster I dream our parks will get one day is a flying coaster. The one at Universal Japan is still my favourite coaster ever and would love to be able to continuously experience something like that in Aus. In saying all that, I think some family attractions are needed most at MW and I think 3 coasters are a nice choice for that.
  8. I don’t think we’ll see an announcement until mid year at the earliest. Demolition will begin early to mid this year. There is a possibility they could open next summer. These smaller scale coasters go up pretty quick. Just take LPS coasters as an example, the track for the smaller coasters was up within weeks
  9. According to their website they’ve moved, so unless they’ve sold it or running it for the holidays as well. I get the new location is more central, but it’s very hidden amongst all the buildings and then tucked in an alley way. You can’t see it from the main road through surfers either.
  10. Last month. But as always, it doesn’t look anything like the original concept artwork (there’s a couple posts on Instagram)
  11. Probably one that was shown to the staff, but I wouldn’t necessarily trust it. I saw an original artist impression for the wet n Wild expansion/new tower and what we ended up with looked nothing like the original imagery that weren’t ever published online.
  12. I don’t think the pizza is currently available because they sell the schnitzel range instead
  13. I can’t see them reusing the station/queue building and I don’t think they should. It’s a very old building now and has unused space from when it changed the LW to AA and they removed the pre show and external queue. It feels old. They might stick with the AA theme and each coaster will be based on a villain (But if it’s family coasters, they might not want a prison theme). They did however refurbish the courtyard not too long before the ride closed and it still looks alright, it’s just a large underused space.
  14. What about Scooby Doo as the area is adjacent to the spooky coaster. But I think as we are all expecting, it will be DC themed and either different villains or different heroes. And it wouldn’t surprise me if the duelling are Batman and joker again.
  15. I’ve had the schnitzel meal and a loaded hot dog recently from DW and both were very good.
  16. When they reduce to one train operation, they use the spinning seat. They’ve been operating both trains for the morning (at minimum) and when the queue settles down they put the spare train in the maintenance building
  17. It’s not being covidsafe, it’s the fact that there are a heap of staff in isolation waiting on results or having Covid
  18. They’ve cancelled the rest of them. Not as popular this year due to the weather conditions? EDIT: Apparently it’s due to staffing because a lot of them are in isolation due to Covid, so they don’t have enough staff to operate for that long.
  19. If this rumour is true, this might mean we will finally see the courtyard space be used properly; as in they will remove it and use it for these attractions. The issue will be that this area is used as the evacuation for Superman and Scooby and is used to access the fright nights mazes. But another suspended coaster and another kid/family coaster will be great additions. I don’t think we’ll see an announcement until later in the year once New Atlantis has opened. We might see the kids coaster open this year, but the larger coaster next year?
  20. My mistake. I made the assumption because the current CEO and COO talked it up so much it was them that were in charge of this ‘upgrade’
  21. You’re right, when you break it down they have achieved quite a lot in under 5 years. When Clark first came on he made some changes that weren’t massive, but definitely necessary. He made ride lockers free, removed the turnstiles at the MW entrance, updated the EFTPOS systems throughout and many more small changes. They have also: - Opened WB Studio Showcase - DC Superheroes vs Supervillains - Hooray for Hollywood - Scooby, WWF, SE and RoadRunner refurb - Added the Aquacolour show to Carnivale - Sea Jellies - New seal show - New Atlantis - The Reef at Castaway Bay - Spooky Nights - New slide tower and splash zone at WNW. - Brought back Dive n Movies - New animal exhibits at Paradise Country - Shaun the Sheep at Paradise Country
  22. Considering it is no longer required to get over the train track and is more complicated than it needs to be, I really hope so. If they fix that area up that’ll make a huge difference to the appearance of that area.
  23. And WB Studio Showcase. And any ride refurbishments (Superman, WWF, RoadRunner). Unfortunately they have the Scooby refurb to their name too.
