  1. For as long as I can remember the lift hill chain slowed down dramatically when cars weren’t on it, but as soon as one touches the base, it’s speed instantly picks up and becomes noisy. Are you saying that the motor stops entirely now?
  2. I just went through every colour at varying lengths and quantities and they all were the same price?
  3. I'm an architect and a project I recently worked on required colorbond. The client (who is working with a strict budget) wasn't sure what colour they wanted, so the builder got a quote for various colours and they said the surfmist worked out the cheapest.
  4. You can very clearly see these buildings from most places within the park. The only part of the building you can’t really see is where the exit stairs are facing the road. But once the monorail is operating again then you will clearly be looking at this entire building. I’m thinking they went with the white because they will be painting over it and/or they’ll be some timber facade and planting installed. If it’s just kept white, then missed opportunity, but it is the/‘one of the’ cheapest colour to buy and if there was major budget cuts, then that’s why.
  5. Not really, looks like it had a paint refresh. The helipad itself looked like it had quite a bit of work done but was hard to get a photo of it
  6. It was a very busy day at SW and for the first time ever, I saw the Vortex operating with full cycles consistently. At one point, the wait time was 2 cycles. Amazing. Watching the ride cycle from near by was entertaining with the riders screaming and cheering. But unfortunately the cycle they are operating is still too short, harsh and does a trick and stops again to prepare for the next trick.
  7. Now that I’m back home, I’ve been able to get the drone photos on a large screen and have zoomed in on a number of things I can now see. Probably the most exciting part for me, is it appears that there is quite an extensive area of the queue that will be inside (which hopefully means an extensive amount of theming) Could this part be the stairs that are for emergencies or are they the buildings exit? If it’s the exit it seems like you then enter that opening to the left It seems like this queue shade structure will have a water effect that pours into the centre And here’s a good look at the slab for Trident
  8. Aerial shot update The station and maintenance building appear to be all closed up now. You can see that the white metal walls continue either side of the track as you approach the lift hill. Hopefully these are painted/themed so you don’t just look at white walls as you leave the station
  9. I believe it’s referencing 1 because that’s the one I took off from when I went on a flight years ago when I was in the park. But it could be both
  10. On MWs website, they no longer list the DC Super event anymore. And I’m fairly certain it has been listed their until recently.
  11. @joz While reading your above post I was thinking about that concept with GD (and then you went on to mention it). Again since river rapids and then the removal of the log ride removal, this pocket of the park has reduced the queue lengths of GD. And to @New display name point, even though people went on those families rides, thrill seekers would follow it with GD. Maybe if they had built a link path between ST and GD it might have increased its popularity more, but it is certainly still the most intimidating ride at the park. I haven’t seen that rides queue reach the exterior shaded area in a long time. Maybe it’s the confusing pathways to actually get to it. But might also be because it’s some what of a dead end. If you’re riding it, your choice is to either continue to the animals or return to main hub of the park.
  12. BuzzSaw obviously had its issue while at DW, but part of its removal was the lack in popularity. This lack began shortly after river rapids because there was nothing else in what became a very small pocket within the park. If they had kept it; with steel taipan now open, do people think it would’ve been more popular? Maybe they could have spent some money properly fixing it and giving it a refurb to match the new aesthetic ST has. And maybe then it might have been more popular again. In saying all that, it didn’t happen and I think it’s a fantastic addition for Gumbuya.
  13. In this video she shared as well, they have already started marking out the site for where it seems the Green Python is going
  14. @joz i think it was because I was stood in there. A wife said what’s down there, the husband said, it’s a garden. The wife said, oh that looks nicely done. Then they moved on. And someone else walked past, saw me and heard them also said to their partner, that’s a nice garden. So I’d say it was purely because I was in there, otherwise they probably wouldn’t have noticed.
  15. On my visit today there was no indication that it was a memorial garden, other than the names on the chairs. I personally think there should be a plaque of some sort to explain the purpose of the garden so if people don’t realise they don’t leave a mess or ruin it. I was in the garden for 5 minutes or so, quite a few people walked past and I heard them mention ‘oh look at that nice garden’ but continued walking. I do think it’s been placed in the best location, which is pretty quiet and has the river beside it.
  16. There was no signage explaining anything. Each bench simply has each victims name on them. My guess would be the flowers and creatures on the totem pole might have some connection to each victim. Overall the area has been done quite nicely, the only down side was the little hut in the back left corner has a pump system running, which makes a moderate humming sound
  17. I don’t hate the fence, it’s a better paint aesthetic than what was there with ST open. But it’s the not better. But what else could they do?
  18. Yeah you read it wrong 😂 you can’t wear them no matter what, even if you have a strap. I think a couple of the kids rides are the only exception
