  1. Just drove past the park, all the scaffolding has been removed from around the coaster. And the flag poles at the top of lift hill are also gone Just reading through this forum again and this made me laugh. A year later and still under construction
  2. Based off what’s been built so far, it definitely seems like a memorial space. And I think it makes sense based off where it’s located too. It’s in a quieter area of the park, some what hidden so it isn’t super obvious and on display to everyone. It isn’t too close to the incident area (because otherwise it could be seen as, this happened here but now we’ve got a massive coaster), but also not too far away that it doesn’t make sense
  3. My thoughts exactly, or if not, some teenager could run and jump and grab onto it. When I was there yesterday i thought it was low, hence why I took this photo. But maybe up close it is higher than we think.
  4. If they go for an October opening, that could be a good way to encourage people to go to the Halloween event to ride it at night. I thought the same as @Cactus_Matt This moment seems pretty low. This path is the entrance path to the attractions area.
  5. I’m thinking late October at the earliest. Rivals started testing mid August and opened late September. It will be a few more weeks before testing begins. And due to the twisting track, I doubt they could do much site work while it’s under testing
  6. It is pretty close, this is right against the dingo enclosure fence
  7. This is what they look like for reference And here’s a construction update
  8. There are a lot of slide pieces at the back ready for install. Obviously there isn’t a way to tell, but I’d say most (if not all) the pieces have arrived. Concrete continues to be poured for the footings. Work is also being done on the toilet block at the back left
  9. Yeah they do, that’s why the backwards seats are always empty. Based off that, I don’t think it’s bad that the spinning seats are only on one train. If people are concerned about maintenance of the train, surely they can just do train maintenance during ride maintenance and then the spinning train will always be available? I would say the spinning train will be used most common (or for half the day and switch on quieter days). I don’t think we will see many days where the spinning train won’t be used
  10. On the drawings it does say there will be a covered photo kiosk wall. I imagine this is where you can view your ride photos and they may introduce a system where you can scan a wrist band or scan your pass/ticket
  11. Interestingly nothing is said anywhere that passes will be extended either and they seem to be ignoring those comments
  12. I don’t think they’d put the mazes outside. October is a very rainy month and the mazes will get ruined and won’t be useable during wet weather. I’d say they will only send you through with your group, rather than combing groups. Masks will absolutely be required and actors costumes and makeup will allow for this. The way scares are done will likely be different and as you suggested, some form of screening will probably be the solution. I don’t think we will see up close scares this time where actors follow you or get right up in your face. And we will probably see less street scare actors too because of this. There may also be less shows to reduce the amount of people close together. And they may reduce capacity further, which could see another price increase
  13. I’d say they are also thinking that there will be another lockdown and are holding off just in case
  14. Dreamworld and Topgolf reopen tomorrow. The rest of the VRTP won’t reopen until Friday, with reduced hours until the end of the month. All the parks will now be closing at 3:30pm every day.
  15. If you want to ride the BuzzSaw one last time, better get in quick because we could quickly head back into lockdown again
  16. @Park Addict 93 that could be the cafe they are constructing?
  17. That’s what I thought, but he also said this “We are very, very close to finishing. It will be a brand new, beautiful home for the meerkats… and it will be quite a unique experience for the Gold Coast.”
  18. From Bikash “We also have the brand new, tallest waterslide at Wet’n’Wild, obviously the Atlantis at Sea World with the Trident and the wooden coaster, and there are a whole bunch of things we have planned for when we re-open. You are in for a very big treat here Gold Coast.” Maybe the big treat is the AA replacement? https://www.mygc.com.au/watch-behind-the-scenes-with-village-roadshow-theme-parks-during-lockdown/
  19. “Mr Randhawa said despite the lockdown, they are still on track to deliver a number of new attractions in the coming months, including a new meerkat exhibit and café at Paradise Country.” It seems that the current exhibit for the meerkats is only temporary and a new area and cafe are coming https://www.mygc.com.au/watch-behind-the-scenes-with-village-roadshow-theme-parks-during-lockdown/
  20. I don’t think we will see DW buy second hand rides again. Based off them removing anything to old or unreliable, they’ll only be buying good quality attractions (that doesn’t mean a good experience attraction, but more so rides that are reliable)
  21. I’m expecting another week, maybe even two, just to be sure. We can’t have a NSW or Victoria incident occur
