Arkham Asylum Facade work
themagician replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
@Skeeta Agreed, and it would've fit perfectly. I just measured up the areas, and DD as is now with the queue would have fit in the courtyard, providing they had demolished the the old AA ride photo booth and reworked the AA queue path. It would be unlikely that they could have all the other elements of the villains areas because of the SD and SE exits, and possibly the reason nothing was ever done to the area, which is a shame, because it could be an awesome area of the park. I never knew the area well when it was originally LW, but did it essentially be the same, but themed around China Town? I know the queue entrance was up the now pointless ramps, but did anything other than this ever happen in this area? -
Dreamworld reduces operating hours

Well damn 😔 -
History lesson time The film was released in 1971 by Paramount Pictures, however the films fights were transferred to Warner Bros in 1977 So I’m not sure if the remastered/re-release of them film mentions WB on it anywhere, but that could be the reason why we thought it was by them
-
I always thought it was, but just checked and it’s Paramount 😕
-
He was referring you Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
-
Construction is happening in the area the stunt team would come out And thankfully the ‘car sales inflated people’ are gone
-
This morning along with SC being closed JR was also closed The footprint between the entry to Plaza and Nickelodeon is closed off as they are returbing the bridge , so to access this area of the park, you have to go through the COTD area
-
Next minute.... it opens Friday 🙃

Despite BS closing again for maintenance after reopening not too long ago, there is plenty of workmen on site with welding and grinding sounds happening around the base/station area.

Dreamworld reduces operating hours
themagician replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
@Slick I've believe since TRR incident, there has only been a week when all rides have been operational I have been been to the parks and can understand why WWW is only open from 11-4, the waterpark is empty. No real queues for anything. It is a rainy day, so that could be potentially why. I do remember last year the waterpark had reduced hours, but was mostly in the winter period. Really they should've done 11 or 12 to 5 or even 6. They could push that really hard and try get people visiting after school to cool down. DW did have a few people in the park, but no major queues. -
Dreamworld reduces operating hours
themagician replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
All of the parks have done that as some point. The water parks in particular often have the slides either sharing a tower or next to each other on rotate. MW and DW have done rotational operations also, but less in more recent years. -
WWW has reduced hours of 11-4 and the majority of DWs attractions have reduced hours, but these do vary
-
If I were DW, I would promote this ride all year long
-
We can only hope that when it opens, they go like crazy with advertising it. Ads, posts, previews, whatever it is, get people excited We can only hope that when it opens, they go like crazy with advertising it. Ads, posts, previews, whatever it is, get people excited

Both they go adding more rides they’ve got to fix/finish what they’ve got... SDSC and HSD -
Just noticed today that park entry at VRTP has recently gone up. Adult pricing is now MW: 95, SW: 85, WNW, 79.

Aquaman – The Exhibition at Movie World
themagician replied to rac2703's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Just walked through the exhibit and I think it is awesome. To be able to sets and costumes that close is really cool. I hope they continue to feature something like this and change it every year or so, because the park needs something like this -
Just been on the ride for the first time since reopening, and it’s shit. I honestly preferred it when there was no theming, because some of what they’ve got is embarrassing in its current state. The screens are a cool touch, but don’t live up to what the ride used to be. And when the animation is that bad, out of time, and so loud, it ruins it. The screens in the lift were the worst of them all. The rock wasn’t in time at all, and then it just ends and scrappy is there in front of black. There were a couple of couple lighting effects in the disco room, but no smoke at all today. The mirrored room was cool, but pointless. The last scene, again, bad animation. The last drop before the station had cool theming, and the screen that try’s to scare you is also pretty good. Someone did say at some point that Scooby doesn’t make an appearance at all. He still is at the start in the Knight suit, but he’s too the right more and in bad lighting so he’s easily missed. The whole queue area was still dark, and no curtain separating the two sides currently. After spending apparently so much money on this ride, it’s difficult to see where it’s been spent. I would have rathered they just put back everything that was originally there, and add some projection mapping to add to what was there. Honestly the best part of the refurb was the exterior repaint.

.Glad to hear about Sky Voyager. The issue with the dome is something I’ve experienced a couple of times on dome screened rides, so that’s expected Shame to hear about WWW but hopefully this will give the maintenance team some tome to clean the slides and perform all the inspections and work needed. It sucks it has come to this, but we can only hope it turns into something better in the future. If i were the park, regarding the new attraction, I wouldn’t bother with this adventure and animal aspect. I would purely just make a lazy river, maybe feature a section that has some rapids. But make it a tropical hideaway within the park. Plant a hell of a lot of trees and bushes, feature a sandy beach and huts throughout. Basically make something like Calypso Beach, but more immersive. And if they are going to reduce trading hours throughout DW, Dreamworks is the one area they shouldn’t. Maybe close anything past DW and OP until 11, but not the other way around

Wet 'n' Wild GC Park Map Updated
themagician replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
You can find AOS stables easier than you can find Surfrider. -
Let’s hope it definitely isn’t cage time. Maybe these were some of the older boats and can’t use them anymore. The one on the ground you see hasn’t been painted after last years refurb

Wet 'n' Wild GC Park Map Updated
themagician replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The Surfrider is on the new one, you just have to zoom in and you can somewhat make it out -
WnW have updated their park map to fit the new style VRTP have gone with. This style has had issues before, but I think WnW's is definitely the worst yet. All the dark colours make it difficult to make out what the attractions are and how to get to them. You wouldn't even know Surfrider existed based off this. They have however now removed Mach 5 and WnW Buggy from the map. Interestingly though, when you click Download Map, it comes up with the old style of map, which too has been updated to removed Mach 5 and WnW Buggy. And of the two styles, the old one is still the one I prefer much more.

But you can’t do extensive maintenance on a ride in one day, or across multiple days, with the ride operating in between Im sure the parks would loose a lot more money by closing 1 day a week, than if they just operated
