  1. Thank god they’ve updated the website, so much better. And that use of projection mapping looking incredible
  2. While they’ve removed the tree, they should pressure clean the concrete, because i don’t think it’s ever been done
  3. Christmas tree is up, no decorations on it yet though
  4. Well it’s scheduled to reopen tomorrow based off DWs website
  5. Correct me if I’m wrong @JaggedJanine, but haven’t you done this experience? If so, what were your thoughts on it? Was it worth it, did you learn anything new (or is purely just the climb?), would you do it again, and how could it improve?
  6. I doubt Brocks Garage and Hot Wheels have anything to do with each other in regards to the contract. Brocks Garage was a car collection, Hot Wheels is an international brand.
  7. Lighthouse is already entirely gone And you can see the new pathway that’s been laid
  8. Moving the climb to the evening is definitely a smart move, not only because of the heat, but the sunsets too
  9. I don’t know the reason, but according to the reliable source of Wikipedia, it says that the ride was originally going to be installed from SW, it was then purchased from Intamin, but after it was bought it’s location changed to WNW. Maybe the reason was because SW was doing well at the time and they thought WNW needed a new attraction to compete with WWW.
  10. Building one in another location will be a very bad decision, especially if it’s done within the next couple of years. They need to at least let the attraction bring the crowds to DW, and maybe in 5 years time, build another one somewhere else (but I sitll don’t think that’s a good idea either)
  11. I would disagree, the current level of progress is very high. They are working on it every day, and ive driven past at night, and they would still be using the cranes (with very strong lighting). The internal steel went up very quickly, and I can imagine now the exterior will too. I don’t think it will be open early December, but definitely late or very early January
  12. Very good point there about Surfrider. With the small queue footprint currently at WNW, when it’s full, the queue can be up to an hour, maybe even more.
  13. Was very cringy watching that press talk. It was so scripted, and like he was talking to kids the tone and expressions he was giving. And very repetitive. But in other news, I am really looking forward to this, and hope they can pull it off and it’s at the standard we hope for
  14. Some of the external structure is starting to be installed
  15. Here’s a look at the rides logo The website has also been updated to include facts about the ride https://www.dreamworld.com.au/rides/family-rides/sky-voyager
  16. But considering the ride just had a repaint, I don’t think it will be moving unfortunately. Because I would assume they would paint it after it was moved, otherwise the paintwork could get scratched off and need redoing
  17. IT’S OFFICAL the name is ‘Sky Voyager’ and the ride is costing $17 million https://www.couriermail.com.au/business/dreamworld-unveils-new-virtual-reality-attraction-sky-voyager/news-story/8fbce2edf128996d48174e71e9fc517a DREAMWORLD’S new $17 million virtual reality ride will take guests on a journey over Aussie icons including Surfers Paradise and Sydney Harbour as the theme park ramps up efforts to win back the public. To be called the Sky Voyager, the attraction, which will open in time for the summer holidays, is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and is the most significant investment at the park since the Thunder River Rapids tragedy which claimed four lives. The 2016 disaster, and the harrowing inquest that has followed, have been major blows to the Dreamworld brand, but theme park officials are hopeful the new attraction will turn the tide. The state-of-the-art simulator features an electrical motion platform with six gondolas of 10 seats each suspending in front of a giant dome screen. The flying experience combines airborne motion-programmed seating with live action footage and special sensory effects such as swooping, diving, gliding and jetting over and around spectacular Australian landscapes. Guests will glide over the ocean towards Surfers Paradise, soar above Sydney Harbour, hover above a white water raft on the Tully River in far north Queensland and float among hot air balloons in South Australia’s Barossa Valley. Developed in partnership between Dreamworld owner Ardent Leisure and leading simulation company, Brogent Technologies Inc, Sky Voyager is the first of a host of new rides and attractions being rolled out at Dreamworld over the next 12 to 18 months. Dreamworld general manager of marketing Philip Hancox said the Sky Voyager would quickly become a favourite at the theme park. “The excitement is certainly building here at Dreamworld as we get closer to opening this state-of-the-art attraction, which will be a favourite for all ages,” he said. “Sky Voyager is the prefect name, as it will take guests on an Australia voyage by air, creating a truly unforgettable experience.” Dreamworld has also partnered with leading travel company Experience Oz, who will be an ambassador for the ride.
  18. I noticed that too, I’d say it’s so that machinery can be in the carpark to pain parts of the slide that can’t be accessed any other way
  19. When I was there this afternoon the ride was operating But why has the shade sail been taken off?
  20. @-nick.white.1543 just routine check and clean
