I know this hanging guard has been there since the original makeover to AA, but I've never seen this 'animatronic' element to it.

Just checked MWs maintenance page, and originally it was saying that just DD would be closed for maintenance this week, but it's been updated and the whole Villains Precinct is closed this week.

I think the audit would be complete sperate for the river Rapids, because of all the other investigations that the ride will go under. And the audits for the rest of the rides is so that they can reopen after it's been proven they are safe, while the future of river Rapids is unknown

It's just the media trying to manipulate the true story

Movie World is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Wonder Woman this Saturday. There’ll be more Wonder Woman appearances than ever before, pre-parade giveaways and kids (4-12yrs) dressed as Princess of the Amazons or any Justice League superhero can register to feature beside Wonder Woman in the Streets Star Parade.

It was stated on the news just before saying that the park will not reopen until all rides have been checked over and the funerals of the victims have been held. I imagine that it may not be until mid to late November before the park reopens.

There are currently 3 of the rapids boats in the carparks, just out the front of the BuzzSaw, with the other 6 to be brought out shortly. Apparently they are all going to be individually weighed as part of the rides investigation.

I wonder how much of an effect this incident will have on the completion and opening date of the LEGO store and the completion of Stage 2 of Tiger Island.

Do people think the ride will ever reopen? Because I personally am not sure if the park would modify the ride, or they just wouldn't risk it, despite the likeliness of this type of event happening again is very unlikely. And I imagine there would be quite a bit of backlash from the GP if they were to reopen the ride. But I imagine their are quite a few people who don't think the park should reopen (and I do know a couple of people that think that), but I don't think thats an option. It could take years before people gain trust from the parks again, or this event is not the first thing people think of when they visit the park or go on any rides, but eventually the park will return to its normal self. I know that as soon as the park reopens, as soon as I can I will be visiting the park to show my support.

Police are not finished with the scene and don't want it to be affected by anyone in anyway. I doubt it will open until it's been given the clear. It was said on the news that it was believed that DW would've returned to normal operations on Saturday, with the area and rides around river rapids to remain closed.

I'm not surprised they are reopening tomorrow. The police have given the clear that the whole park isn't a crime scene, despite the investigation continuing until necessary. I imagine that area of the park will be closed for some time, but I'm ademant that the park is safe. I think what happened Tuesday was a freak accident. The ride passed the maintenance period, and despite reports it closing due to issues earlier that day I doubt that'll be linked to the incident, otherwise they wouldn't have reopened the ride. I'm glad they are having the Memorial Day in respect of the victims and their families. I imagine it would a week or so before the majority of the rides reopen, but BuzzSaw I see will be staying closed until the investigation is complete. And for the Rapids ride, who knows what will happen. It's just going to take quite a while before DW is back to normal.

Don't know if I missed someone else posting this, but the park will be reopening Friday at 11pm for a 'Memorial Day' and all proceeds will go to the Red Cross in support of the families. WWW will be open, along with some of the smaller rides and Corrobbee.

Went to the park not to long ago to lay some flowers out the front as a sign of respect, and there are already plenty of flowers placed out the front. Such a horrible thing to happen, and am truly shocked by it all. Thoughts are with the victims and all those involved.

Reports have just said that one of the boats slipped on the lift hill of the river Rapids, sliding back and crashing into another boat, causing it to flip. At this stage it's believed 2 people have been killed, and 4 injured. Horrible news, and thoughts are with those injured and their family and friends

Well online now you can online purchase tickets that are for both DW and WWW, and not just for the individual park

I did try the ride when I went to FN, and it did complete 4 spins each way (If i remeber correctly) which did allow it to pick up more speed and more it more thrilling, but for me, it did make me feel a bit dizzy.

No @Jamberoo Fan. Not major steel works, but along the top around the edges I noticed some that wasn't there. But yes there is a lot of scaffolding around the building now
