  1. I got some photos from the construction today, it's pretty much the same.
  2. Okay, I just went into wet n wild and got some photos on the way out, there seems to be what looks like two cherry pickers and a crane on the ground. As I was inside, it looked like stairs leading up to the slide were being pulled apart. Could they be closing it?? In other news, the aqua racer is still at the same place it has been for a while.
  3. Omg. This is so dumb. OFCOURSE the attendance will be lower! It's the first day of holidays so kids will just be unwinding until the holidays REALLY kick in. The park just reopened after 2 or so months, so the attendance will be lower!! These threads are becoming more and more pointless!
  4. Thank GOD. I thought I would've had to pay another $400 I'm in a GREAT mood now. Thanks so much guys
  5. Okay guys, I need some help. I had 4 VIPP passes to movieworld and they have all gone missing, after 3 hours of searching I can't find them. Is there a way I can get new ones without paying?
  6. Okay, from experience of rides saying they were shut for maintenance and not saying when they were re-opening, I am starting to get cautious. Mammoth Falls was scheduled to re-open on the 8th of December and now, it has been put into maintenance indefinitely. I will be able to get some pictures of whats going on down there on Monday, but until then, all we can do is speculate!
  7. This is probably a dumb question, but why are the carnivale floats there?! Is there a parade there aswell?
  8. Crap. I really enjoyed it. But you never know, it could!
  9. Id say its closed until the Peak of the holidays come along, mainly so it doesn't malfunction before hand. As for the 'extra staff needed to help operate it" I dont think they do need much extra, just 1. My thinking for that is, while I was at Fright Nights, I used the VR headset and there was only 1 worker, and he was doing just fine. They were very busy (VR) and he handled it very well. It only took an extra 10 seconds because two workers just had to check if everything was on fine, and then we were off.
  10. I was supposed to be going tomorrow but they pushed it to Next Monday, So i moved the day i was going to then. But guess what happened? They pushed it back again!!! I know why Doomsday keeps on getting pushed back but Im a bit confused on why Scooby-Doo is now. :/
  11. Guess whats been pushed back another four days... AGAIN.
  12. Okay! Thanks for letting me know, I didnt quite know how long it took to develop a ride, but i kinda new 2 years (not even) was a bit of a stretch.
  13. Well, they could put in something like the Cheetah Hunt, as it incorporate the Jungle and the water, would also be a fantastic family attraction and would be a great addition to the park before the commonwealth games in 2018.
  14. I agree, they could however be looking at another water based ride to fill in that area?
  15. Theres one other thing that really ticks me off... and its the fact that there are so many other parks in the world that have killed 4x the amount of visitors DW has, and yet they are all still open. Dare 4 people lose their lives in a terrible ACCIDENT and here comes a wave of screaming people trying to shut the place down, and then all the "bad experiences" appear on the reviews, coincidence? I think not.
  16. I could hardly call what happened "Murder" it was a freak accident. As for the numerous rides "Standing but no operating" I would almost view that as a good thing, people want them to be safe, so if their under maintenance what are they crying about? And some of the complaints about the park may not even be true. This woman kicked up a stink because some of the rides weren't open and the belt buckle apparently came undone mid ride, and it just so happens that she brings this up RIGHT AFTER the TRR incident.
  17. Okay. I thought you were one of those people diving into the media's crap. In terms of that revelation about the Cyclone thing, i totally agree, that was a BAD move by DW.
  18. Okay, now this I don't agree with, the operators were NOT dodgy and it was NOT the operators first day at the park! She was the main operator of the Tower Of Terror, and was over at the TRR being trained with the main operator to learn how to operate it, the operators aren't dodgy at all, and if you think that, then read the article stating that each and every operator was given an extensive training course covering EVERYTHING. This is something that pisses me off, because I do my research, most people just read off the media. But you are fine to Boycott the place, judge all you like!
  19. Haha, wouldn't we all? I kinda used to think that if Movieworld went Belly Up it would be the PERFECT place for a universal studios. But now that i think about it, Dreamworld would be a better candidate! Tower of Terror was my favourite ride when I was 6 and will always be one of my favourites. Just hoping they bring out a Tower of Terror 3, where the cart spins the whole time, or Goes backwards the whole time, by turning at the top.
  20. IMO i think that its become even more iconic because of what happened. I also think they've turned the page and our now focussing on the future and what is needed to insure that everyone that visits the park has a great time. Ive seen now that you aren't the biggest fan of the park, but if you have a look at the articles with the statements that Dreamworld have given and the evidence to show for it, you will see that they are actually ticking all the right boxes!
  21. I dont want it to change either, its an iconic landmark in Australia!! IMO i just thought it would probably be more likely than Disney... Warner Bros. has Movieworld.. so why not?
  22. If you want my opinion, i think Dreamworld would go better as a Universal Studios. (Mostly because they have the spinning Globe) but because the rides can easily be themed to one of their movies and the zombie area can be transformed into one of the famous dark rides. But i dont know, we'll see how it plays out.
  23. Source: Courier Mail "The mother of Dreamworld ride victims Kate Goodchild and Luke Dorsett has no issues with the Gold Coast theme park reopening next week and plans to revisit, says a family friend" I think if the mother can handle it, most other people can.
