  1. Not from my experience, they definitely weren’t. They stopped the ride after about 15 minutes and sanitised, but it certainly wasn’t after each cycle.
  2. Also went for a visit today. Arrived at about 1:45, and there was no queue to get inside. I can confirm there are no hand sanitising stations at the end of rides, which is very surprising. Storm coaster can actually have a maximum of 6 riders, depending on the group sizes. On my ride, 5 of us were fit on, with a group of 4 in the front, and myself in the back row. Vortex is certainly interesting. It will be interesting to see what the area looks like once it has become overgrown with the greenery around it, but for now, I do think it looks very cheap and tacky. Time will tell. Also, it seems like Jet Rescue is getting a re-paint. I'm not very knowledgeable on how the painting of a ride works, but i'm going to assume the paint in which is being put on the coaster now, is not going to be the final colour.
  3. So, very little rides, no decent shows, no parade, no meet and greets.. What’s the point in going?
  4. Just wait until the 20th of July, when Doomsday, Superman, WWF, GL and AA are closed. What a boring day that would be.. 🙄
  5. I must admit I am a little confused with the maintenance schedule's for the VRTP parks. Is it showing that regular maintenance wasn't carried out during the lockdown, or is it cost-cutting due to the expected lower attendance (or both)?
  6. Wasn’t there just announcements that both VRTP and Dreamworld had submitted their covid-safe plan to open sooner with a larger capacity?
  7. The Australian Financial Review are completely irrelevant and wouldn’t have a clue when Dreamworld plans to reopen. August is a guess at best.
  8. Eagle-eyed viewers will also notice there is only one storage bay in the render of the coaster. Obviously it's just tentative, but could also indicate there will only be 2 trains.
  9. Just a thought.. filming for advertisements for re-opening the park?
  10. I know we obviously weren't expecting the level of theming as seen in the original artworks for the area, but I can't be the only one who thinks this all looks pretty cheap and tacky so far? I understand it's only the Vortex area, but I mean, that could not be any further from the concept art.
  11. This was the proposed 'stage one' of the park, released back in 2017 I believe?
  12. I mean, you'd have to imagine there's going to be at least 3? No point for a MCBR if there isn't at least 3.
  13. Tricked me too until I saw that it was a screenshot from the website back in 2015.
  14. I believe I heard somewhere that the Kids Maze was being scrapped in the expansion of ABC World? Not sure about that though. Kickback Cove won't be going anywhere anytime soon. And wow, I never knew Sword swing and the Ogre-go-round were so old! They have been kept in great condition. I'd say the spooky coaster has a lot of life left in it still, however I'm not sure the same could be said about Wild West Falls (at least in its current state). Batwing will be around for a while aswell.
  15. That is true. What shocked me is that the creator actually knows it's illegal. In his comments he mentions that he hides in his car so he doesn't get seen when he films this stuff.
  16. That is incredibly dangerous. FYI - the footage above is not mine.
  17. I doubt the final name will be Sidewinder somehow. Their contract may have only just run out with Hotwheels, given the removal of the name.
  18. I never actually had any intention in flying over the parks themselves. I was specifically asking if it was allowed around the boundary. By the looks of things, it seems to be legal.
  19. Wow. That’s very surprising. I never would have thought it was legal to fly over a theme park, especially since you aren’t allowed to fly over vehicles, houses or people.
  20. Hi, i'm interested to know what are the particular regulations at the parks in regards to the usage of drones? I did some research in regards to the Queensland governments guidelines, however I'm not sure whether each park has their own set of rules. I understand flying within the park is prohibited, however is filming allowed around the boundaries prohibited also? (For example, adjacent to Entertainment Drive, on the grass patch in front of DC Rivals, or behind Dreamworld's bushland near the train line).
  21. What are you talking about? They have closed.
  22. There's at least 2 things wrong with this, but I know @AlexB will probably say something after me.. 1. Australia's population is 5 times the amount of New Zealand's. Locking down 25 million people is not as easy a task as locking down 5 million - especially when a portion of Australian's wont actually listen to those lock down orders (as we are seeing at the moment) 2. Australia is literally 28.5 times larger than New Zealand (7.69 million square kilometres). A decision like this needs a lot of time and thought, which clearly you have not done, as you seem to think ScoMo has the ability to just shut down the country at the flick of a switch 😉 But what does this have to do with the gold coast parks?
  23. As mentioned, Dreamworld is closed. Annual pass validity for all pass holders will be extended past their current expiry date by the amount of temporary closure days. Dreamworld have also taken an extra step than VRTP and have allowed an additional 1 month free of charge for any annual pass holder.
