(thought this would be the appropriate topic) but as of right now; - Rivals - Green lantern - Justice League - Scooby (2nd time down today) are all closed, with Wild West being 100mins, Superman being 90mins, Batwings sitting at 50mins and Doomsday’s at 35mins. The park is definitely seeing the effects from the closed rides.

Will Fright Nights be less popular due to the price increase?
Rivals replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I’ve heard half the reason ticket prices is up is so they can sell less tickets but still make the money they would make from having cheaper tickets + more tickets. -
i get there’s bigger issues but how’s everyone forgetting rivals isn’t even in driving school, it hasn’t been updated since it opened so how it is now is how it was when it opened.

Will Fright Nights be less popular due to the price increase?
Rivals replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I will say normally by this time a large majority of the nights are quoted as “selling fast” or have already sold out. This year it’s just the first two nights and the last night that are “selling fast.” Since my friends are GP, they have been disappointed regarding the prices and i know a lot of people that went and enjoyed it previous years are no longer going this year due to the price increases. I know that’s not everyone but i feel like a lot of people will be thinking “i did enjoy it but that’s a bit too high”, i’ve even seen social media comments saying they don’t want to spend that much when tagged by friends🤷♀️. So i guess we’ll find out, atleast the queues would be shorter for the people who are attending. -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If they did reach out and receive advice from Mack, the advice would’ve been a well tested process for how to recover trains that valley, therefor giving it a lesser chance for failure meaning they probably would’ve tried again if that’s the only piece of advice they’ve received. It doesn’t take nearly 2 weeks to call a company and get advice, even if Mack had to send people over would it take that long? I feel like MovieWorld thought of the idea they tried going through with, now that it’s failed they are contacting Mack. -

Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If this was the reason doesn’t really explain why they attempted, then failed and haven’t tried again. Mack wouldn’t send a team over here to complete a failed attempt -
I’ve seen people who have been on both rank Rivals and MT, I don’t really think a mid sized wooden coaster go up against a hyper coaster widely regarded as ‘one of the worlds best.’

I’ve never seen a pull through happen before or know how they work (clearing myself incase this is a stupid question) but, will they pull the train through all the way until the breaks, or do they just release it at a safe high point to where it’ll be able to complete? -
not that surprising but, Doomsday is also now down for Unscheduled Maintenance.

Golden Ticket awards are meant to be international but it’s mostly just american. I mean in 2017 Mystic Timbers beat out DC Rivals for best new coaster.

On a friends instagram story yesterday it appears there is machinery on site near the back half of the ride, hopefully this is a good sign it may be getting moved soon🙏 -
Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point "Closing"

Premier and Intamin are two different manufactures. Premiers coasters (such as SRII’s) are capable of stopping from LSM’s alone, whereas Intamin’s don’t seem like they are able to do that as all of their LSM coasters have a serious of break fins following the launch. -

Rivals replied to Coasterjoe's topic in Theme Park Discussion
correct me if i’m wrong but, i'm 90% sure the break fins are needed due to the LSM’s alone not being able to slow the train down fast enough, so the break fins are used to mostly slow the train down while also putting less pressure onto the LSM’s in the chance of a roll back. -

Also, if the hydraulic launch system is making the ride be down more then 60% of the time, yeah it might be a good launch but would you rather have a powerful launch but a ride closed 60% of the time, or a slightly less powerful launch with the ride down probably 20-30% of the time? -
Dad sues Dreamworld after son falls from stationary attraction
Rivals replied to Rivals's topic in Theme Park Discussion
There has been a sign on the train itself since they brought it back, i personally wouldn’t see an object that’s clearly not designed to be a play structure and think “hey let’s let my kids play all over it” I mean the size and design of it, the slopped roofs, and the concrete floor underneath is a pretty clear give away its not a play area imo🤷♀️ -

Intamin LSM’s aren’t bad at all and look quite intense, im eure the public would much rather a different launch feeling then it be completely demolished. Since the track would need to be replaced for the launch and potentially if they do add a camel back, i wonder if they’ll just replace all of the track to make it run for many more years. -
Disney Cruise lines set sail in Australia
Rivals replied to aussienetman's topic in Theme Park Discussion
A friend and i were looking into going on the cruise but we figured out very quickly just how expensive the rooms are, we found; - cheapest room type 2 people = $2,204.68 total - most expensive room type x2 people = $5,165,98 total I think it’s pretty safe to say it is way too expensive. As for visiting disneyland, i’d much rather a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park as that targets my demographic a lot more and also isn’t nearly $1000 a ticket (or whatever it is). -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
According to the parks website, Batwing has reopened. School Holidays are starting in a week from today, if Rivals is still in the same spot nearly 2 weeks later im doubtful it will be open in time. Hopefully they can get it open for Fright Nights at least, even though there is other experiences and entertainment, having your signature ride closed (and superman most likely down) with already not many rides open during the event with a ticket costing $79-$99 isn’t a good look. -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Well i’m going to ask, say it wasn’t because of the wind and temperatures, what else could have caused it? There’s no visible damage to the track or trains so a wheel or part wouldn’t have come off, the only other thing i can think of is the camel back trip hitting too hard? -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Im 90% he’s meaning it was weird to run the ride with such high wind warnings in place. -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
say the limit is exactly 50, and winds were 45 then that should be fine, but with how cold the track would’ve been (making the ride already run slow) with the trim break also on the first hill then add an empty train with less weight and a strong wind gust it makes sense why it rolled back. Im pretty sure Batwing was open when i left at around 4:15, so i’m assuming it myst’ve had issues closer to the park closing, which sucks as they can’t afford to have any more rides down currently (DC Rivals archway and beyond is completely closed now) -

Winds that day were very high across the entire gc and even up in brisbane, also how else would it roll back if it never has before during empty train cycles? -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Rivals replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
who else would be to blame? they have wind detectors (forgot the actual name) on the ride at the top of the lift hill, they would’ve seen winds were too high and not safe. and then now it’s just sitting their, no one else can move it but them🤷♀️ -
Gumbuya World 2 coasters under construction
Rivals replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Gumbuya Coasters Update: (credit: @mittythemeparks - instagram) The Track for the Skyloop has now been complete and is dominating over the parks skyline, with the supports for the SFC starting to go in. Now the Skyloop is done i won’t be surprised is all steam ahead on the SFC now, maybe a month or less and it’ll all be done?- 256 replies

Superman has ended up opening within the past 15mins, joining Scooby, Doomsday, Batwing and WWF are the only “thrill rides” open, with Scooby having a 90min wait.
