  1. corroded does not necessarily mean beyond repair all in all it is all conjecture and guess work until an announcement is made (or this whole thing fizzles out)
  2. the collision happened whilst the ute was up on 2 wheels, i believe the driver attempted to maneuver out of the way or after the collision in re-action must have over steered causing the rollover
  3. Care to advise us of the source of your information? Sorry but with this being your first post on the forums, and making such a damning and controversial comment, a believe a little more info is required
  4. By law fire extinguishers need to be kept clean and pressurised at all times. Given that the area is used for storage, it would still be expected to conform to Fire safety standards. Too bad they'd fail for having no pin and it being in the floor...
  5. With the exception of 2 water dummy's & erosion, there has been zero visible changes to the ride or mountain in 8 years
  6. Well Screamworld Rides & Slides is on next Saturday so they could yet still incorporate something
  7. Naa train line goes no-where near Maudsland/Guanaba, not sure what Roofs you're seeing but it's not from the pirate town they've built
  8. Certainly can mate, one side is exposed whilst the other 3 are obscured by the containers The pirate village built in Maudsland is amazing as well, can't get very close anymore but still a great thing to check out
  9. Yeah no doubt would require a licensing agreement with Disney, but given MW is not in a competing market, surely some sort of arrangement could be nutted out, even if it was for a walk thru exhibit with props & costumes post-filming. Anyone interested in movies has to check out the black pearl they've build behind Westfields at Helensvale for filming on, surrounding by shipping containers ready for green screen. Quite a sight
  10. Could we possibly see something tied into Pirates of the Carribean that begins filming next week on the backlot and around the GC?
  11. Yep - that's no surveying equipment, well not from the past 20 years anyway
  12. Comic book fanboys across the world are crying that someone thought Batman was a Marvel property
  13. Yeah no Pirates at Dreamworld ever to my knowledge. Where was this pirate ship supposedly located? Tiger Island wasn't developed prior to it's current use. Think you may be confusing the bush ranger show and the sea world offering?
  14. Signage is only required when there is exposed asbestos or the risk of being exposed to such. If the structure is sound then there is no - therefore no signage required. Any building with fibro built pre mid 80s would likely have asbestos, you don't see warnings on their entrances unless they are being renovated or demolished I never claimed the ride was closed due to asbestos, I don't believe that is true at all. I'm saying it may point to why it hasn't been demolished previously.
  15. I think the knowledge I have about it is just fine thanks. Don't need to read a website or go to a seminar. What evidence do you have of the internal structure of the mountain collapsing ? I've seen none to suggest it has (or I doubt they would use it for storage) so why would there currently be an asbestos related issue? The issue will only arise when it is broken up in demolition. The only visible deterioration is the external fibreglass shell
  16. Asbestos is only released when the fibre fabrics are crush or ruptured, ie, in demolition. The old Gold Coast Hospital is a case in point. It is needing to be demolished in segments to avoid asbestos effecting the surrounding area. It is absolutely riddled with it. Didn't stop tens of thousands of patients and staff being inside it before demo.
  17. It wasn't the smoke aspect, it was the danger aspect. Unless you have a professional whipsman and a trained participant, someone's gonna lose an eye.
