  1. If it was financially plausible to just knock down the ride and facade, it probably would have happened already. It's been spoken about previously that the mountain is likely riddled with asbestos, and removal would be a very slow process which would likely involve closure of the surrounding areas during removal including Buzzsaw and the Rapids.
  2. Understand what you are saying OceanGirl, and no doubt information trickles to frontline staff either formally or informally through management or techs etc. But strategic direction (we're not going to develop this parcel of land for x amount of time etc) would probably not be the type of info relevant to frontline staff.
  3. Flicking a smoke out of a guys mouth. Seems like a PR disaster & workplace safety incident waiting to happen! Haha. Blacksmith shows, Yeh they are interesting for the right market, but again it would need to add value to the park to be implemented.
  4. So to make what you are saying more plausible, reliable, maybe you should have said "my girlfriends friend's mum is a manager at VRTP and said..." Rather than "my girlfriends friends is a dancer and said..."
  5. There is a heap of room the Wild West area, doubt they'd use the show stage, it's still used for fright nights Etv, but they could level some of the facades and theming to incorporate a new flat ride (because the long wished for woody seems like too big a stretch)
  6. Somehow don't believe VRTP share their highly guarded future development plans with the dancers.
  7. Austin powers is significant by his glasses and 70s Costume and mannerisms. Marilyn is well, Marilyn. Pop culture icon. Clint eastwood & John Wayne did not really wear anything significantly different to any other cowboy or 'western era' male that would make them easily distinguishable as their portrayed character to general public. Sure Clint could use a few choice movie lines, but unless you're in earshot it wouldn't be noticed. Incorporating those characters into a scripted show would work IMO, but not as purely roving entertainers
  8. Seriously doubt Wild West Falls will be going anywhere. And how does one dress up like Clint Eastwood or the Duke? Unless you have someone who looks just like them (very unlikely) then really you're just getting someone to walk around in cowboy attire, not particularly exciting.. I think more could be done with the area by way of another attraction & show, but I don't think your suggestions would encourage more visitation or revenue raising for the outlay/expense (teens wouldn't know the difference between the duke or Clint)
  9. Why would they have to be working after hours? Like most Senior Execs they'd be at work by 7:30-8am on any given day and could have taken a ride well before the park opens. It's plausible, and that sniff of smoke around this idea is quickly turning into a bonfire, it may actually be happening!
  10. Would depend on the condition of the track, whether the carts were still viable, what level of theming they would want. One would imagine a significant amount, but even a rough estimate would be impossible to predict unless you had first hand knowledge of it all
  11. I think nostalgia & your age at the time of riding has got the better of you jake. No doubt a fun and memorable ride, but certainly not better than other park offerings. I'd love to see it restored and updated theme wise if there is indeed any truth to this rumour. The demand or interest is significant enough that a couple of water dummies sitting on a station had people in a frenzy! If it re-opens Id love to see Dreamworld incorporate the word 'Funnest' into the slogan.
  12. Tad bit quishy for 2 people was my only complaint. Loved it
  13. You heard it? They told everyone. Thanks for the scoop.
  14. Just left DW, nothing doing at Eureka. 2 water dummies, just plonked on the station. Nothing else any different to anytime in the past 5 years. Did have an awesome experience in The Lair. A tiger was up on the see-thru viewing area above the walkway and wasn't too happy that my son & I were underneath him, got some great photos & video of him wishing that inch thick glass wasn't there and he could have an easy meal
  15. DW marketing Dept being sneaky? They know how much eureka is talked about on social media (and here & other forums). Maybe they organised the test dummies to be placed there and a few things moved about just to get people talking.
  16. How do you know they are turned off vs a maintenance issue?
  17. I guess to each their own. Agree rubbish should be removed, but it's not strewn across the place. It could be one or two days build up, who's to say it's not actively removed?
  18. Once again, how many people really does the lake water quality bother? Would most people say that its a priority over say, clean toilets? Or a fresh paint job on a ride?
  19. Don't look in that direction. The capital investment would be more suited to about 1000 other projects
  20. And seeing the floats in storage takes away from your theme park experience how magician?
  21. Disagree Ninja, Dough Bros better in my experience. And Gary - nice way to bag out pricing without telling the truth. $20 for a slice of pizza? Maybe include the cup of fries and the drink in your photo as well given that's included in the price as well.
  22. There would be A LOT, like container loads of steel required to build the ride, not a solitary pile in a maintenance area. Would be extremely unlikely for parts to arrive for a major ride before its announcement or even a credible rumour is out. From memory purple & green are predominant colours for the Carnivale theming. My guess is you have seen some of the set design/construction for this years event
