  1. Interesting! Guess we'll see an announcement in the next couple of days - likely to be nothing to do with DW I think Edit - just looked into it - it's an acquisition of Heath clubs. Nothing to do with theme park division
  2. Can't see it having anything to do with the wave pool, as that will be open all summer. Would be more to do with either the projector or screen one would think, or staffing/costing - but I'd imagine it was profitable with all the food/bev purchased
  3. Mate no dramas- I'm not telling you what you can/should do. As I stated, just differing opinions Understand obviously the carousel & railway as the baby is being held. Also understand that milestones do not correlate with months/years in all babies. IMO I just wouldn't trust a 3mth old even if they could support their own Neck/head on any ride with movement at that age. I do see your point though regarding letting the baby on a ride but then not letting them in a hired stroller.
  4. Obviously I have a differing opinion to you, but there is no way in hell IMO a 3 month old should be going on any ride regardless of how tame it is. Is that even legal?? Children under 6 months should also not be in strollers - this is almost internationally recognised as a safety issue. MW is entirely correct in enforcing this to ensure they are not liable in the instance of an injury. The muscles in a babys neck do not Develop to the point of being adequately supportive within 3 mths of birth. Why you would want to risk that is beyond me....
  5. Used to like doing a full day at MW then heading to WnW at about 4pm hitting the slides before the movie kicked off.
  6. Yeah just found it on FB but can't copy & paste it on iPhone Sad to hear. Wonder what brought on that decision
  7. It's been put on indefinite hold as he has too much on his plate. He is looking at possibly getting other writers in or someone else to take over the project. Still a few years away at best
  8. You clearly don't know what pity means. Barring that, I agree. The ride will be unique and the first of its kind in Australia, and thats exciting!
  9. It's more about population, economy and domestic & international visitor figures. These impact sustainability much more than weather. Sydney would likely see a theme park (non-water park) before Melbourne.
  10. right... thats plush dino nothing to do with a teddy bear ... which is, well, a bear...
  11. Understand what you are saying Liz when it comes to big families, or even small ones, it all adds up. I guess though even if it went up to $120 per ticket (+$20 on current pricing) its still crazy cheap for a year of entertainment for the family. Buy you passes, take your lunch with you and barring maybe a drink or ice-cream you have a full day out without paying a thing on the day. Considering it costs about $60-$80 for a family to go watch a movie together these days, and that's 2hrs of entertainment - the value is easy to see
  12. What's a dinosaur teddy bear look like exactly?
  13. I think you're taking a little too much creative freedom with that statement....
  14. That was never anything more than a pipe-dream... Melbournites will have to be satisfied with Luna Park for now
  15. Have not heard anything about a second train JL will pull more visitors but also absorb a hell of a lot too so whilst it would not doubt be more efficient running 2 trains, I don't expect queue times to be increasing any great amount beyond usual peak numbers
  16. Same ride. New trains incl. new restraint system. New queue theming. On-board Audio but yet to hear it on my 2 visits. Much better experience now, smoother ride, restraints change the dynamic in my opinion.
  17. No one under the age No one under the age 10 Or 12 would have Any idea who the flintstones are
  18. yep - i think it was the first night and they toned it down/timed the smoke releases after that
  19. its $2 for 1 hour right?? I'd give a 10% lee-way - so round it up to 1hr 10mins - not back by then, then that's your problem - UNLESS it is due to excessive ride/wait times. If it was a case of less than 5mins late - i'd be taking it up with management as a cash grab and lack of customer service.
  20. jesus.... no one is 'gaining', or ganging for that matter, up on you. put forward an intelligent argument, see other peoples opinions as just that, opinions, and dont post stupid pictures telling people to "shut the F**k up" and then whinge when people come back at you for it - and then you might gain some respect.
  21. yep... i also think it is more to do with an OH&S/safety point of view. The whole old west town part would be quite dark at night, and it would not be impossible for someone to squirm out of the lap bar and disembark in that area without being seen (there are video cameras but they certainly wouldnt be useful at night)
  22. I'll go out on a limb and say Sept 22. First day of QLD school holidays
