Silly me... I forgot that VTP (one of Qld’s leading tourism, events and entertainment companies) has no relationships or contacts within the levels of government that could have assisted them with relevant timelines to incorporate into their launch plans. They just guessed, of course. -

Do you actually have any idea what you are talking about? Or just taking blind stabs in the dark? Dreamworld’s issue hasn’t been the government taking too long to process paperwork -

Why do you feel it wouldn’t be signed off in an appropriate and relevant timeframe? Because of SV? Different Park, different company, different planning, less amateur hour. -
That’s a cut any paste of what they have been saying January. There is no change

Someone should totally message PETA and say SW is putting dead captive whales on display. The gullible fools would believe it too... -

I’d assume DW engaged licensed electrical contractors to complete wiring for SV, and given we are in Australia, I wouldn’t expect it prudent for DW to say “please ensure your work meets Australian standards”. That would simply be an implied expectation. Unless you are saying the electrical work on SV was an in-house job?

Doesn’t appear to be the government slow turn time in responses, it appears DW can’t provide the relevant paperwork and info

ONE of Movie World’s most popular attractions, the annual Halloween ‘Fright Night’, has a new bogeyman — the Gold Coast City Council. Movie World owner, Village Roadshow Theme Parks, is taking the council to court, accusing it of levying monstrous infrastructure charges on its Fright Night horror mazes. The mazes, where gruesome ghouls leap out of the darkness to terrify patrons, have been a Fright Night fixture for more than a decade at the Oxenford theme park. But the council has moved to impose new infrastructure charges on sheds which have been used to house the mazes since 2016. In a Planning and Environment Court appeal lodged earlier this month, VRTP argues the proposed charges are ‘so unreasonable that no reasonable relevant local government could have imposed the amount’. Lawyers for the theme park contend the mazes ‘place no extra demand on trunk infrastructure’. They argue the sheds are not connected to sewerage and the only water they use is for fire sprinklers. “There is no extra demand on the transport network, as there is no increase in attendees to Fright Nights as a consequence of the sheds,” the appeal states. VRTP argues the council has made an ‘error’ in classifying the infrastructure charges and they should be set aside. An initial hearing has been set down for this Friday. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/queensland/movie-world-takes-gold-coast-city-council-to-court-over-halloween-levy/news-story/43082df56a43a0b8cca457766243bd70

Three Tier Engineering & Safety Review

Or... DW have built it on the cheap and cut corners to save $$$ resulting in a structurally or operationally inferior product to the other models around the world. They thought they’d get away with it, but have been called out on it and are struggling to fix it. If rumours about the issue being with the physical building as opposed to the actual ride mechanic itself - potentially ride clearance issues, emergency exits, fire safety etc, these may be things that can’t simply be resolved, or may not be able to be without removal of the ride system or redesign of the space...

The walls were always in place once they started construction, there was just gaps that made taking photos quite easy.

You could have just summed that whole paragraph up by just saying “I am a fool”. First you condescendingly accuse me of saying something I never said. Then you throw the old “well if you don’t like it, how about you do it better yourself” which is just moronic... if I don’t like the customer service on an airplane and make suggestions on how they could be better then I should what? Buy some planes and run my own airline?? Stupid.
-
Ok I’ll bite given the condescending “tone”... when did I ever mention anything about actors throwing dolls at guests? Whilst that sounds incredibly funny, far more entertaining than what MW has thrown up the last couple of years for FN, I don’t recall suggesting it...

Tbh I have no idea if that’s part of it, travelling rides are not really my thing. Haven’t been to the EKKA in 13 years despite living 30 odd mins from Brisbane

That could be due to the increased focus both regulatory and public on ride safety. Funhouses have less risk, less moving parts and therefore require less “work” and are accessible to a larger demographic
