  1. Id say it's some shelter for the construction guys. Think the colour is just a coincidence
  2. You'd think so. Tbh the first 2 would certainly have every member of this forum scratching their heads if they were serious considerations. Maybe if was just a test for all the new panelists to see if they were sane enough to be part of it...
  3. Holding off on watching it as I'm going next weekend and would like some surprises!
  4. Did DW ever say that they were moving it closer? Or what that the opinion/thoughts of a poster here?
  5. Westical was referring to the feedback section about current offerings
  6. Only scheduled nights left are Saturday & Sunday next week
  7. Interesting. From what I know DW tends to be the more lenient height wise (obviously still in line with manufacturers requirements) compared to MW. So I'd say it would likely be a ride with a 130cm manufacturers minimum
  8. Why don't you call and ask them? I'm sure they have a sound business plan for its development
  9. I don't watch it... There was an article about it in the newspaper a couple of weeks ago
  10. Find it very hard to believe guests were stuck upside down on Pandamonium given the counterweight. It would have to been a 'perfect' equal weight distribution to spot spinning upside down. Even so, guests rocking in their seats would unbalance and cause it do rotate
  11. You stated the underwater scenes were filmed at SW. They weren't they will filmed at MW. I didn't say non-underwater scenes were not filmed elsewhere. Much of it is filmed at The Spit as well
  12. Incorrect, H2O and H2O: Just Add Water were both filmed (and the later continues to be filmed) in the MW studios in the underwater tank.
  13. People who were part of Future of Fun earlier in the year know a little more about Wild, but due to confidentiality cannot mention anything publicly.
  14. Story has since been updated to say that Jet Rescue stopped & guests had to be evacuated from the ride mid track at the exact same time as the Storm stoppage Sounds to me like a power outage/surge in the park for 2 rides to go at once
  15. The cost of land clearing would exceed their current capex budget for rides. Maybe one day. Here's hoping there's massive plans for the TENTH big thrill ride, whenever it happens
  16. Sign has been gone since the beginning of the year. Sand at a theme park located on a coastline isn't exactly an extraordinary find. If you are talking about the reclamation works, no one ever said that was to be Wilds location
  17. Agree with comments AlexB just added as well. We need to differentiate the Carols event from Movieworld. They do no run it the community carols, They run white Christmas, which the council do not contribute towards clearly (why would they?). From my understanding movie world provide the Carpark and grounds, at no cost. They get a few free plugs on the night and bugs makes an appearance on stage with Santa. Call it goodwill, call it a contra deal for publicity. I attended last year and it was a very enjoyable night. Good performers, carnival rides and food, displays from various event sponsors etc following by fireworks
  18. I'm guessing he is referring to http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/gold-coast/what-your-suburb-will-get-a-break-down-of-how-councillors-plan-to-spend-their-700000-divisional-budgets/story-fnj94idh-1226959152949 Which outlines that $20,000 of Gold Coast City Councils budget for Community Events is for the 2014 Christmas Carols in MW Carpark. What skeetafly neglects to mention, or is not aware of, is that movieworld makes no money from the carols. It is only the Carpark and adjacent land used and outside park hours. None of the $20k is paid to MW, it is paid to the various vendors, suppliers, performers, utilities, security etc. $20k is the running cost of the event. IMO opinion well spent considering the thousands of people that attend. As for a government grant for DW. That was to develop the Aboriginal section of the wildlife area as another community/indigenous affairs program. It's an educational experienced now regularly visited by local schools and again IMO money well spent.
  19. Wild seems kinda unlikely to happen anymore. MW is adding Mini Driving School WnW is adding the new kids area. DW has the new 9th thrill ride. WWW has the new slide Only SW doesn't have an announced attraction opening by years end
  20. Drove past the park at 11pm last night and the area was floodlit, so I dare say construction has started & as taking place overnight to avoid disrupting day trade
  21. I understand what Liz is saying, it does sometimes feel like you are up there an age, but agree if you look at a stable reference point you are moving the whole time until the release. Whether there is a level of inconsistency in the deceleration process vs time (shouldn't be) or it's just a perception thing I'm not certain
