Expect a 2023 opening

The price was put up sometime last week I think... I guess it's coz the peak season is looming by with the opening of borders too

Dreamworld's website has a nice update as a result of the conclusion of Happy Halloween:

It ended up reopening later tonight - if anyone was wondering.

Tonight's Happy Halloween at Dreamworld tells a contrastingly different story - it being one of the best nights I've ever had in a while...

Okay so the slot is reasonably justified. All the other claims like "oh it was going to an Asian themepark blah blah", all that was just speculation?

Was anything ever confirmed? Or was it all pure imagination? I struggle to find any sources that CONFIRM such claims, not just mention them without further context or info regarding it

Hmmm... Perhaps it was a long gradual process. Given I read that ride 73 times that day (my mate tried to break my current record of 83 but reached 82), I didn't really pay much attention to the seatbelts.

East side of drop may need some work. Yesterday, they were only operating with 5 seats because one of the seatbelts frayed (this would've happened during Happy Halloween the day before, coz they operated all 8 seats earlier that day with no issue whatsoever). Seats 1 to 6 were fine, but seat 7 had the issue. And since you have to balance out the ride, it left seats 1, 7 and 8 unavailable.

Just like Roadrunner, each seat will have individual lap bars for the safety of every passenger onboard. Take into account someone with large legs (a parent) sitting beside someone small (their child). You can imagine that when they close their lap bar, the parent will have theirs as tight as they can but the smaller passenger will have plenty of room to move around (posing a great risk anytime from dispatch to unload).

Oh no 😰 Just wait till someone has the smart idea to start throwing those rocks at the ride itself... or even to the people who speed past.

Drop ride operator, a newfound friend of mine and I still can't believe that the train will squeeze through such a tight space.

Had a good view of the "overflow car park" next to the land the Big Brother House used to sit on from the Giant Drop today. Saw a handful of vehicles parked there throughout the day.

In regards to the gondola for the west side of drop: The gondola is looking slick. Brand new overhead canopy that's larger than the ones on the east side (which explains the reason behind extra arms coming off the flat yellow part between the seats and the catch car to hold it up). It has a black finish, but also has the words "Giant Drop" meshed into it (is it there to cast a shadow on riders? who knows). Just like The Claw, it too has received newly replaced harnesses and seatbelts.

Interesting to hear there were other ideas for the launch. I wonder what they could've been (bunny hills on the launch)?

The night of Sunday 31st October has been added.

It's essentially an out-of-control boat... Once it dispatches, it has a mind of its own (with only water and little obstructions beneath the surface to create the rapids feature somewhat controlling the raft) until it comes to a conveyor belt or something. Given I have never ridden a Rapids ride before, I'll have to make second thoughts whether I do essentially board one or not (I'll most likely board but we'll see).

It sure would! Would love to see one here, but....... An RMC single-rail coaster in the Gold Coast would fit either parks nicely. Would love to see one in either blue circles, but who knows what'll happen. One thing for sure, we probs won't be seeing a thrill ride be built on the island...

I'm ruling out Superman, given he already has a ride there. I'm leaning more towards The Flash (as others are too) because of mainly the colour of track and supports, but personally I see Flash more generally suited to run as a single-rail coaster.

Super right? I assume they've publicly announced and revealed that their Superman ride now operates forwards and backwards, perhap we'll see the landing of another superhero ride there too?
