  1. Backdrop is starting to be installed (thanks to Jaggs Journey)
  2. I agree that it will not happen. Every time these articles come up nothing happens.
  3. Another thing that will most likely happen. This time for a Victorian Disneyland. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/hope-for-a-disneyland-in-victoria-has-not-been-lost-as-the-disney-ship-sails-into-melbourne/news-story/d8f149ea145a11d590d415c00177797e
  4. Other way round. QLD Holidays are on 1st April and NSW starts 7th April.
  5. Good points @wikiverse. A good thing unlike the old Dreamworks area is that the Ocean Parade/K&B Dreamland licensing can be used permanently, unlike Nickelodeon and Dreamworks. It will save money in the long-term not having to refurbish entire areas every 10 years. Yes ABC rides will be a licensed area but it will still save more money only having to do them, not the entire bottom right of the park. Instead of retheming areas and paying licensing fees which costs millions of dollars, they can invest into new rides instead with the extra cash, which will improve park attendance.
  6. Results are in, and Giant Drop wins! Batwing Spaceshot and Hair Raiser also got some votes, but unfortunately Coney Drop and Inferno got none. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang Wild West Falls Green Lantern Leviathan Giant Drop The next poll will be Sapphire Speedster Coaster vs. Mining Race Coaster. Thanks to @Gazzafor the idea.
  7. We will be comparing two moderate sized family coasters today, which are Sapphire Speed Coaster vs. Mining Race Coaster at Magic Mountain Merimbula and Gumbuya World respectively. Vote by Sunday, and thanks to @Gazzafor the idea.
  8. I don't think JDS is either, I wasn't allowed on it when I went in August because I was "Too Old"
  9. 4 currently (2 adult, 2 kids), 5 when Marvin opens. @DaptoFunlandGuy didn't count the kids ones. Batwing Doomsday Looney Tunes Carousel Sylvester and Tweety Cages Marvin Cosmic Boom There will be 9 coasters in 2025, counting the Boomerang as two and assuming Surfrider is moved. DC Rivals Superman Escape Green Lantern Scooby Road Runner WOO SFC WOO Boomerang 1 WOO Boomerang 2 Surfrider
  10. I have thought it over and this is what I would love to happen with Surfrider. Unlikely to happen though. Surfrider is themed to SuperGirl, who is saving people stuck inside Metropolis during the big earthquake while Superman is saving the people in the station as what happens now. Also unlikely to happen, but I would love a theming update where there are fake buildings places inside of the helixes as part of a new precinct called either "Superworld" or "Metropolis" What do you think?
  11. Yes that is the rule, SBNO and demolished rides are not counted. I used to allow under construction rides but they are not allowed anymore.
  12. And the Leviathan beats out the Scenic Railway with 33-8 votes. Leviathan now progresses to the all-star theme park with the others. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang Wild West Falls Green Lantern Leviathan The next vote will be different again. This time we will be voting for the drop towers, with all of them put into one poll. Vote by Thursday. P.S I have no idea what to compare Gold Coaster to (was going to compare it to Saphire Speed Coaster or DC Rivals but have no idea) if you could give me some ideas of what to compare it to that would be great (you cannot compare GC to coasters that have been in previous polls btw)
  13. It is time to vote for a droptower to be in the all-star park. I have picked 5 of the best which will face off in the poll. Please note: Kiddy droptowers (the ones at Funfields, Aussie World, Little Leaper at Adventure World etc.) are not included. Vote by Thursday.
  14. I counted the vintage cars as one because it will be moved, not removed and rebuilt. At least we finally got a post as we had 0 posts yesterday.
  15. Results are now in, where Green Lantern beats Project Zero by 31-16. Green Lantern will now progress to the all-star lineup of the park. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang Wild West Falls Green Lantern The next poll will be Leviathan vs. Scenic Railway. Voting is closed on Monday, vote here:
  16. Because these are the only wooden coasters in Australia (Wild Mouse is also but it has been in a poll) we will be comparing Leviathan to Scenic Railway. Please have votes in by Monday.
  17. My guess why most parks don't do it is because it will slow down capacity/riders per hour. Because it only can run one train the capacity is already not that good and having it be a double cycle will make it even worse.
  18. Same as Dreamworld, with one cycle, then the backward drop, then the next forward drop when the brakes catch it and lift it down.
  19. Hello everyone! I am planning to go to the Gold Coast in 2023. I come from Bendigo, Victoria so cannot go often. This is my third time going to the GC parks, me going before in March 2015 and August 2022. However, I am planning to go again in 2023. The question is, when? I don't want to go before June (dont want to risk SE/DD/BS/DCR/WWF being closed) and will be willing to drop Scooby as it is closed. I also cannot go during September because I am going to Thailand. I am also going with another person who doesn't want to go during November and December due to the heat. So it leaves July, August and October. I am hoping to go in the latter as most rides are open as well as Fright Nights. Could you give me some suggestions? Thanks.
  20. Results are in. Wild West Falls beats Storm Coaster and The Plunge with 45-13-1. It means WWF goes along with the other rides listed while Storm and Plunge are chucked out. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang Wild West Falls The next poll will be Green Lantern vs. Project Zero. Vote here:
  21. Time to go back to basics: We will be voting either Green Lantern or Project Zero this time. Remember to put your vote in by Friday.
  22. And the results have came in. Motocoaster has been absolutely smashed by Jet Rescue with 35-2. Not a good look for Dreamworld with 3/4 coasters turned into scrap metal. Boomerang wins automatically due to a rule change being made. Also, we will be going back to a 1 vote poll due to popular demand. TNT Big Dipper III Superman Escape Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Jet Rescue Boomerang This time, I will try something different where Storm Coaster is put against Wild West Falls and The Plunge due to Storm being the only water coaster, and me not being able to compare it to another for that reason. Let me know what you think. Vote here and put your votes in by Tuesday:
  23. Time to do something different: We will be comparing Storm Coaster to the log flumes as I feel like Storm cannot be compared with anything else. Put your votes in by Tuesday.
  24. Must have been new with the voiceovers on the lift hill, wasn’t there either when I was there on January 21. Good improvements none-the-less.
  25. Hello everyone: In late January I went to Gumbuya World to experience the new roller coasters, and here is what I think of them: TNT (Vekoma 453m Suspended Family Coaster) Firstly, the ride me and my sister went on at the start of the day was TNT. I must say the theming is very nice on the coaster’s queue, and the fact that the queue goes under the track gives me Road Runner Rollercoaster at Movie World vibes TBH. We did have fast pass, but decided to use them later so we got in the regular queue line. I would say we waited for around 30minutes to get on, as it is the most popular dry ride at the park (waterslides are the most popular however). But when we did get on we got to row 10 (the back row) and what I can say is the back is the most intense. You get more force sitting at the back so it feels more intense. It goes fast the whole way through and is a great family coaster that you will love at Movie World. I later got row 1 and 7 but I do think 10 is most intense as I said. I will give it an 8/10. Project Zero (Maurer 150m Skyloop) The next ride on our list was the most thrilling coaster, Project Zero. It is a hand-me-down from Dreamworld, which is good for the park as it isn’t that old and gives the park another thrill ride. The theming is also good, but however not to the TNT standard. Me and my sister decided to use the fast pass this time, and luckily due to that it was a walk-on. It actually has some queues unlike at Dreamworld in the normal line. When we did get on it was a great coaster. I feel like the front is the best of the coaster, as you feel the wind flowing through your face and you also go higher when going up, going upside down unlike the other seats of the train. It actually didn’t feel as bad as it looks. It is a great thrill ride for the park and I give it an 8.5/10. So they are my reviews of the new coasters. They are great additions for the park and Victorian parks in general, as apart from Scenic Railway all our other coasters are SBF Visa tiny coasters that could be seen at carnivals. I am glad to see parks outside of the GC invest in new coasters. P.S Didn’t know where to put this, but according to YouTube there is new audio that wasn’t there when I went on the chairlift of TNT. It goes like this (note: can’t see what the first part of the voiceover is) Person 2: Yep, just like it’s written here! 500 kgs of nitro, or does that say 500 grams? The writings are a bit scrappy. Person 1: Ahhh, she’ll be alright. (TNT noises start going off) Person 1: She’s gonna blow! Run for cover! The coaster then starts the drop and goes like normal.
