Whats the random scaffold and ladders in that photo? Looks a bit rough

From what I'm led to believe the Dreamworld engineering facilities are pretty impressive...
-
Not really, the two are totally different experiences and SV gives people a chance to do an upside down coaster whilst still being fairly tame. I see no point in removing a coaster for another, focus on other areas and add NEW experiences, not replacement ones.
-
^^ Disagree. That coaster is a good allrounder with broad appeal. I doubt any replacement would be the same.

Seriously? There is currently one thread bashing a park for giving a date and then not sticking to it and now this one bashing another for not committing to a date they can't possibly know.
-
Thats not an uncommon practice. Very rarely is the official opening of something before it actually opens to it's firsts, guests, shoppers, customers, whatever.

Which is a good thing. Coaster cost parks mega bucks to maintain each year, the park can't really justify that for something with low ridership so a busy coast means one which will be kept around longer. -

^ Great post, so you can see how say a 6 million dollar attraction would become a 16 million attraction pretty easily if you had to also build the show building- 778 replies

^^ I think they meant the Seaworld monorail Alex. The 'end of life' tag as you put it is complete government BS related to the whole system. Yes trains probably but they have seen a much harder service life than the sea world counterparts. End of life is something very much used as a get outa jail free card. Pirates of the carribean, arguably the king of all dark rides is over 40 years old and is not going anywhere. Because its owner WANTS to keep it. I doubt the SW monorail is going anywhere for a very long time.

^Another excellent point. Same for all the approvals of the structure and systems once built. Engineers arent cheap.- 778 replies

Lethal has been running for one train for years now with no ridiculous waits, it used to stack with 2 trains anyway which means the second train doesn't really improve capacity much. Sure the ride will be more popular once it re-opens but it's not going to be the must see, hot ticket that has 2 hour waits for a year. Again an overreaction based on something that hasn't even happened yet. -
I'm noticing a trend here and it's making the community look a little dumber really... In all amusement parks the way maintenance is structured is a combination of every day checks and major maintenance. Sometimes problems arise that are not a quick fix, parts need to be located, shipped and sometimes even custom manufactured. It's just like the superman water scene, just because it is closed or not functioning unexpectedly doesn't mean the park is getting rid of it and we have to jump on a bandwagon of how we hate the park for closing rides bla bla bla. A little patience can sometimes go a long way.

It's actually the opposite of what you think. The show building is a huge portion of the cost of a dark ride. By reusing the building you can save a lot of money. Theming is cheap but it's the infrastructure like the building itself, air conditioning, fire systems, electricity supply and all that which cost a fortune. This is why you also see rides with no 'ceiling' because each small room would require its own fire systems. By keeping the cieling open a main air con and fire system on the roof can cover the whole attraction.- 778 replies

Pretty much, all these show buildings are pretty much just a clad steel frame. Bermuda is a bit different cause it was constructed different and has some solid walls but essentially you're just gonna see some black steelwork. Look at disney construction photos and you will see much the same thing.- 778 replies

^ Yes which is surprising given it was in top operating form back when that special was shot. I can only assume (given it probably was filmed over about a week or so) that LTRR may have been down for annual maintenance at that time so they just disregarded it.
-
Thanks for trying Joz, guess not. Didn't really see the need for any corrections myself.
-
^^ that special was hilarious to watch... What an extremely 'awkward' piece of television.

You didn't hear how the park has purchased ye mechanical systems of SFMM giant inverted boomerange and is transforming the coaster? Why do you think the cranes have been on site? -

^ I doubt anyone is going to post that information because your post almost sounds like taking things from curiosity to actually trying to access the areas in question. As the areas are off limits parkz doesn't really want to assist in helping in members break park rules. As for how they fit, most people would know the current Scooby Castle que is where the old theatres were, not all of them were turned into the que so a couple remain. A keen eye in the que will notice the remnants of the walls which previously divided up the theatres.

Do we know that's the only way to unlock them? Could easily be a system with two modes where by when it's busy they all pop up automatically but when quiet riders do it themselves.. best of both worlds. You already have to undo your seatbelt so it's not that much different I guess.
