Easily Wipeout was because it had one. I maintain again that Vortex is not themed. -

Commercial awnings, commercial light fittings... There just isn’t anything themed about it. Nicely presented yes, themed no. Themed -
I believe Dreamworld is an asset to the community and should be saved by the government, same for SkyPoint. However Ardent should not get a cent of that in terms of bailout. I feel something like QIC should be buying out ardent at bottom dollar and then leasing the park back to a competent operator at a pittance until they turn it around. That’s my thoughts anyway.
-
They need to stop trying to make the rake happen.
-
Maybe if they stopped filling as many trucks, there would be less to dump... I just want to make it very clear, I don't hate Dreamworld, but I do hate the company that owns it presently.
-
Passively standing idle by is just as bad as being an active participant in doing shit things. I'm not singling out one post, I'm talking about a general vibe, read the posts above, there is already defensive sentiment towards Dreamworld being expressed. And as Joz pointed out, needless comparisons being drawn to Village. Village is irrelevant, if something is shit, it's shit regardless of if someone else is also shit. I don't have an agenda outside of expressing my feelings that Ardent are a disgrace of a company who don't deserve to be responsible for the asset to the community that was Dreamworld. But for some reason every time I try to express such a point of view I get shot down. And as a community leader I am setting an example, one I will continue to set, that things should be called out for what they are, not ignored because of blind admiration.
-
It's a real shame that some people are so anti Village and pro Dreamworld because when that shit hole never reopens they will have no where to go at all. But honestly when at a time like this when so many people are out of work and down on their finances, people are almost 'meh they were just basic positions anyway, they are expendable', I am so disgusted that I don't even have their energy to argue. When you are so incompetent at running a theme park that you have to sack people who did their jobs the best they could under your crappy leadership, but you keep your nice paying job and get to continue being incompetent, then you're a piece of crap.
-
That could be more ‘glossing over’ over something if you tried. They sacked 50 people with likely a good 100 to come still, in a disgraceful fashion and they are all essential business functions and a lot of solid people. The place is screwed with no money to even keep itself afloat, and not a spine to share between the management. Makes me angry to see their behavior and even angrier to see the whole thing basically dismissed above. Have kept my mouth shut to now but that pisses me off. Disgraceful to see people sacked with nearly 3 months of Jobkeeper left. At the same time ‘mean old Village’ have kept everyone in a job. Ardent are a disgrace. It will be a surprise if Dreamworld ever reopens under their management, and certainly won’t resembling anything like we know and remember it.

Has luna park sydney pulled the plug on 2 classic rides

They should get a Vekoma mad house as a throw back to the topsy turvy house of yesteryear. -

Was just about to say that’s the most picturesque immersive part of the area 😂 -

I don't know if I'd call these cheaply plonked carnival rides that were put in with the 'modern' Luna Park of the Arrow Big Dipper era classic. If they look to remove the Rotor or Coney Island then we should all start getting angry. -
The Top Rail seats are definitely the best offering both from a position standpoint (you can still choose front, back or middle in the top rail section) but if you want to enjoy alcoholic drinks then it’s a much better deal. You’ll get a premium beverage selection and personal table service with at least double the number of drinks served than regular seats. You also get a drink from the bar pre show included (normally you’ll have to pay), a free photo rather than buying the expensive photo package and a program. So yeahs its a good deal.

The other thing which I haven’t brought up to this point is to spare a thought for staff. Financial matters aside a lot of people draw a great deal of self worth and purpose from being able to go to work. I know a lot of people across a great number of industries that have had mental health issues with being stood down for so long and lacking purpose. If the parks being open mean people can get back to work and that helps their mental wellbeing then I’m all for that. And I’d go to far as to say for me that’s more important than the disappointment of some people that they can’t ride their favorite attraction just yet.

Maybe vote with the majority of shareholders that I presume are also against it rather than bitch on a theme park forum then? Not defending VRTP here, but more raising my annoyance that people that bitch about things that are decided on majority votes. But yet is definitely VRTPs fault that people can’t visit from Victoria!

Could Sea world be getting ready to demolish the castle?
rappa replied to Coasterlife's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Your right. Without the interaction of Vikings, Burmuda, Train and Ski Lake the current setup of pathways makes zero sense. -

The lighting is also something you’d expect to see at any marina or waterside restaurant. Again pleasant enough. But nothing to brag about. -
Overall there has been a huge increase in numbers of the Gold Coast today in terms of tourists, so it will be interesting to see how that translates to park visits.

Your nonsense affects me because I have to read about it when attempting to visit these forums and read what intelligent people have to contribute.

If there was a best white male post award yours would have just won it 👍

Oh yeah cool so that’s how we’ll live is it? If something doesn’t offend you then to hell with what anyone else thinks or feels. By your logic I’m not upset that they took away a couple of parking spaces so you shouldn’t be either.
-
To be fair if the parks capacity is reduced so is the prescribed number of Ambulant parking spaces required. Calling them handicapped spaces is considered quite offensive.

My issue with Guardians is its theme is so much worse than what it was. It looks cheap and tacky and the ride experiences lacks any of the suspense and thrill of the original. You ask “if building from scratch would you use an elevator ride system for this theme?” Course not. It’s a shoehorn. Other upgrades like Pirates have been amazingly done, Tony Baxter is involved so that bodes well. A princess and the frog theme for splash could be done in such a similar vein to the existing ride, a ride that portrays the essence of the film rather than an exact story telling. New Orleans styled music playing throughout as a cohesive theme like we have now could be done really well.

The retheme of Tower managed to simultaneously destroy what was a great ride/theme and also deliver a new attraction where the ride system made no sense to the theme/story of the ride. It’s awful, it’s cheap and it’s ugly, so let’s hope this alteration has zero similarities with what happened to Tower.
