  1. Pretty sure I covered my thoughts on that. What is immoral about sharing information that is legitimate to share? I've said it about 1000 times, the park saying "shhh keep it to yourself" is 100% about making people feel warm, fuzzy and special and 0% about stopping information leaking out. They definitely expect it to get out. Which is why they don't actually reveal anything secret to the likes of enthusiasts. If I had info I could share and not get sued I most certainly would.
  2. Well firstly, I didn't call out anyone member so if you feel you fall into the category of "every year" then that already says something. People can have other opinions, this is a discussion board. But having an opinion and telling someone not to do something are two different things. What I question are people's motives... I've seen time and time again a member sharing some goss they have or inside info and then others shooting me down. It's my opinion that those people shooting down are more put out that they don't get to be special anymore by "knowing something you don't know" and worried about themselves not getting special favours from people that they believe they are all 'in' with in the parks, than they are objecting due to some kind of moral code. I say this is an enthusiast forum and if you know something and there is no legal obligation stopping you from doing so, share away!
  3. Every year there is someone who comes on here and shares inside info from whatever source. Then every year the same people come on here all buthurt they weren't the special ones to release the inside info, or upset that they aren't special 'knowing something you don't know'. If you didn't sign a NDA and you don't have a contract forbidding you from sharing info go for it!
  4. Thing is. There are already speakers on the lift for evac. And the ride control system already knows the train is on the lift. So seems like such a wasted op not to use these (for free) to add something to the experience.
  5. I like the Australian where where kids are too tired by the end of 6 hours at a theme park. Where at Disney they are 10,12,16 hour days!
  6. This is not a hunk of crap old Arrow or Vekoma. Modern wheel bogies have been designed for years now to clamp the track at all times.
  7. The thing is FLYING around the course. At this rate it may get trimmed, but even if it did it's not going to matter with how fast it is running, plus being magnetic brakes you'll barely even notice. I'd say this one is gonna be a winner lads!
  8. I think a common misconception is that there is a giant project budget and so much money kicking around to throw 'an extra few thousand' at things. In reality these projects are budgeted to the cent (yes there's contingency however that is for when bad things happen) and every cent is scrutinized. If you think about something as insignificant as lights on a fence blowing out by 20 thousand dollars, imagine the big important stuff. Suddenly your 30 million dollar ride costs 40.
  9. I have no issue with someone saying "I wish they would have done colour changing lights" and/or "surely it wouldn't cost much more". But don't say they should have done it and state fact on costs when in fact you don't know. IMO that's insulting something with no grounds rather than offering an opinion. And yes people may not ve experts in this or that but when people confidently start using figures, etc it sounds like they are. So they damn well should be. Lots and lots of words don't necessarily make a sentence correct.
  10. Is this based on any semblance of reality? Of just what was on a quick alibaba search? You'd be looking at MINIMUM 10 Thousand more to make these lights colour changing controlled. And potential is easily there to double that. This isnt some rinky dink Kabab shop, you're talking components that need a 10+ year life, full UV and IP66 rating (not just a Chinese sticker that has that written on it). And heavy gauge cable to avoid Voltage Drop issues. That's all before you install quality high output RGB (or more) fixtures. Please can we not have Armchair Experts on this, it's embarrassing.
  11. Yup agree. Rivals should absolutely be a $20 per ride single use fastrack addition only available for purchase with the Unlimited Pass and max of one per guest per day. Sorry my agree comment was in reference to Santa, MickeyD got in there before me.
  12. Actually in this instance it would be quite costly... Rather than just run a 12 or 24 ELV supply to each pole you would have to either run, ELV and data control, in which case much more expensive fixtures, or you would need to run 4 wire ELV control to each pole and have remote LED controllers. Due to the long run the controllers would need to be out in the field which brings with it more control cable, weather proofing, and all that. So I can see why they have gone with the white only solution.
  13. Agree and disagree. Sure for Christmas and maybe fright nights a colour could be cool but thank god it's not some colour changing horrid thing. The classy white is nice.
  14. Wait so what's the source? A LED strip underneath the cap and then the same on top under the logo? Underneath the cap looks really good, but the light for the logo should be a wide angle LED flood, not omnidirectional led strip.
  15. Apparently Mack do not do pull throughs. Guess the Germans have bigger balls than the crazy Swiss bastards.
  16. Check the Parkz Facebook for video of the first ever cycle! Once again Parkz brings the goods
  17. Let me get this straight... Lights came flying off and hit someone?? and they just kept operating? and this is not in the news?? THANK GOD FOR THE FOUNTAIN REACTION!
  18. Perhaps they should have engaged a lighting designer
  19. This is how I'd do it... Just post the damn photos given they are just for fun and there is no business involved. Why is the latest trend for every man and his dog to try and pass themselves off as some Global Media Powerhouse?
  20. You can be sure that the park will want to run this monster like a bat out of hell unless absolutely necessary to slow it.
  21. Yeah that would involve a much more complicated system needing actuators, controls, etc and likely sections of box track to accommodate all that.
