  1. And if that ride was actually dead and destined to never return I really doubt the cars would just be sitting on the track somewhere ready to wheel out to mess with enthusiasts. And it's not like they will actually invest the time to dig out a car, hoist it onto the track and all that for a publicity stunt.
  2. But it would fund a facelift of tiger island and a revamp of mine ride.
  3. I mean it is a safety concern as the primary system is not meant to fail, it's over designed so that the normal operating factors would never cause a failure. A failure is only the result of poor design or poor maintenance so that's a concern. Now having said that it's only a concern FOR THE PARK. As they need to concern what is to blame, design is not their fault where as maintenance is. The public have no concern as there are redundancies for redundancies in all ride safety systems. This article reads like the secondary REATRAINT system came into play (ie seatbelt) but I don't even think this is the case. Sounds more like the hydralic locking system failed and it fell to the ratchet to hold it. Which isn't even the secondary restraint, it's only the secondary locking system. This sort if failure is more common than most would think and really not an item worthy of concern.
  4. It might not be council DA the public can see though. The building alterations might go through an independent certifier.
  5. You don't need a permit just to alter the structure. You will need independent certification but you won't need to lodge a publicly accessible permit with council.
  6. The attraction needing a Makor Overhaul doesn't mean ANYTHING is wrong with the ride system. Think about other options
  7. I don't get all the posters saying "they WOULD have to rebuild the track" "it HASNT been maintained" or even the "I DOUBT". I mean nothing is known. They may well have continued to maintain it in an opening standard. And I've no doubt 2 weeks ago we all would have said "I doubt it will ever re-open". Now it seems that is wrong so the idea they haven't maintained anything may also be wrong.
  8. Ok the dummies are interesting, I doubt they'd store them there as it doesn't seem a very convenient location.
  9. Dipping dots guy (who for some reason was working at an electronics store) tells me mine ride is in process of preparations to re open! Go wild
  10. Sure it's not the justice league parade float. That's where they are parked.
  11. Alex I understand the behaviors thing and that's why I'm not really including it in my opinion of ALL NEW vs NEW. Changing a song, or a background and essentially doing the same show with a different packaging is not all new. Changing the overall premise, script, predominant look of the venue, and just the way the show presents itself I feel does make it all new. This is why I also say the new Outback show is the first All New show since it opened nearly 10 years ago.
  12. Probably a significant change to format, content or general style of show presented. That's what I'd say is the difference between new show and all new show. Take other production in the company as an example. Quest for golden seal to fish detectives - all new Police academy to HSD - all new HSD to HSD2 - new AOS Lighthorse to AOS Spirit of Horse - new AOS Spirit of Horse to High Country - all new IMO opinion the new dolphin show is just a a new show. Not all new production. Doesn't make it bad it anyway, I just think that's where the expectation and opinion sit. Obviously this is completely open to personal opinion though, there is no right and wrong.
  13. That's an interesting review to hear people preferred the previous show. Everyone I've heard from says they much prefer the new show. It's certainly a higher level of production for sure. Also the first show that's all new, all new music, film etc that's never been used before.
  14. It's a very honest answer. Don't pretend they never took animals etc, the past is the past and it's a great representation of what the park does and is today.
  15. Big water ride = potential for big maintenance
  16. They have also been directly marketing the Anaheim park to the Australian market so it may just be increasing their brand awereness in the market in support of that campaign.
  17. The refurb is scheduled for many months so it must be quite significant.
  18. Yeah I think this new member needs to go. Their attitude is just not what we want here. This is a forum for discussion, not for talking 'at' people.
  19. Yes happy to have you quote your review here but do not use this thread to basically advertise your site. Just curious why we see this review when the rest of the White Christmas and AOS review never happened?
  20. Looks like old pre show for Tunes river ride. Now it would Driving School staff room.
  21. Running great ops. Waited about 5 minutes on Monday night
  22. Driving school was all done up with lights and stuff and obviously the kids WB area looks great with a bunch of Christmas lights added.
  23. Actually my view has been perfectly illustrated in this thread. The guy posts saying how his website will be reviewing the show bla bla bla and then there has been nothing. Same as all of this "live updates from white Christmas". There were like 3 posts from the first night and then again, nothing. Talking up a "multi camera shoot" of the parade which is a hacked together youtube vid of a few somewhat mediocre camera positions. It's find to call it what it is, an enthusiastic young bloke with an amateur fan site. But don't pass it off as some big pro operation because it's not.
  24. Come on seriously, how many theme park news sites do we need? We have 4 theme parks and the bulletin covers them all
