WhiteWater World Construction Discussion
lisalila replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I agree, considering you don't have access to go inside the actual construction zone. -
Where are the neighbours located? never really noticed any neighbours in that area.. I also think Scooby is a thrill ride..it has high speeds..isn't that really what a thrill ride is?
-
Wow that turbo tunnel looks awesome. I dont think www will get the edge over wnw at the moment they will with the australian first rides but unless they have invisible land none of us can see they really can't expand as Richard already said. It's great for us (the general public) to have two choices of water parks now and I don't think wnw would have installed new water slides in 3 or so years if www wasn't there because it was a long time between the h20 zone wasn't it?

Awhile ago I was on the lift hill going up to the main drop and it stopped..scared the living daylights out of me I was looking around for a worker asking my brother "what happend what happend" when we started again..turned out we were too close to the flume in front of us. They had also stopped the ride while we were in the line up before hand for that same reason..I remember the worker saying they had more flumes out because it was hot so they were getting too close to each other. Also been about to get on the first hill as you go into the back drop when it stopped..for the same reason. First time you get a little scared because you you sit there enjoying yourself and than all of a sudden theres a jolt and than you just stop..a million thing's run through your mind.

See there it goes again..you are assuming that the "general public" know nothing about roller coasters or other rides when in fact some of us general public people know a little...at least know that the term broken doesn't always mean unsafe. MW is a joke if they have two working trains but only run one on busy days (and please read: I said working)
-
It could have very well been option 2 but mw are known to run 1 train on thier coasters in busy periods. No one is making an attack? hmm I seem to remember someone calling Dreamworld_rulz a sook or saying he was whinging..isn't that attacking someone in internet terms? I'm also not whinging about how people are acting, I'm just stating that this site was made to talk about theme parks and other thing's around the world but there just seems to be alot of arguments and crap lately. It doesn't offend me either, again I was just stating something that is my opinion. I think your post actually proves what my post above is referring too, thanks.
-
Actually that never crossed my mind but I guess you are right. I was just asking though. I also think that this site is becoming stupid...people are getting attacked for thier opinions on parks, others (rc enthusiasts) think that people who aren't crazy about coasters like them are stupid and don't know anything about coasters, which actually isn't true at all..might not know everything about coasters but we know some thing's, we know the basics of the coasters we ride. There's been more arguments on this site than discussion about our parks and the other stuff that is up for discussion in the other non-park area's. It's just so stupid, we're all on this site because we love coasters, we love the said parks, not to argue with each other and jump down each other's throats.

Article: Village Theme Parks introduce new ticket options
lisalila replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The food/merch discount is one thing that annoys me about MW, you pay so much for an annual pass and than you gotta pay full price for food/drinks and merch if you want it and if you have a big group than it does hurt the pocket more. I love Dreamworld's 15% discount, it makes you buy more..especially the drinks and when it's really hot you drink more so that does add up too. When I was at Dream in Jan there was 7 of us and lunch cost us almost $80 so that 15% really helped save money. -
So they arent allowed to say "there's been a malfuntion with the 2nd train" or something simple like that? also I've waited more than 90 minutes for Cyclone (been way out the door) but SE is a ride that takes less than a minute to ride..Cyclone is far from that. It takes them a minute just to let you through the doors and than another minute/minute and a half to secure the harness'...SE has always been fast. You shouldn't compare it to a slow ride like Cyclone. They might have had two trains running before Dreamworld got there at 3pm..that's not what he is saying, he is saying IF it's busy than why not use the 2nd train IF they can..of course if they couldnt than fine but if they could why not? Naturally there are reasons why it wasn't running two trains and from my experience they seem to run 2 trains in the morning (when its actually less fuller) than 1 train in the afternoon when it get's packed and on many occasions they've had the 2nd train out the back on busy days but just don't opt to use it...I was actually told by a worker who was on SE with me that management don't want the track to get worn out too quickly by running two trains. If that is true than why did they bother buying two trains?

There will be alot of people who will want to go to www to ride the Australian Firsts over riding wnw's tornado though especially since www have thier own tornado. I know if www was open when I go next month I'd skip wnw and go to www instead and the only reason I'm going to wnw is to ride the Tornado so once www opens I think alot of people will choose it over wnw for that reason. I just hope they choose a better ground than wnw have.
-
Yes but aren't people here always saying they run two trains during the hols? and surely they know that the majority of visitors dont have the time to wait 45 minutes for a 20 second ride?
-
Great, thanks for that.

Movieworld to get a stand up coaster?
lisalila replied to dreamworld_rulz's topic in Theme Park Discussion
You are all forgetting something, the ride op did not say they were getting a standup coaster, they said if MW play thier cards right they will get a standup coaster not are 100% for sure getting one in 3 or so years. Ride op's might not know what the park is getting but they can speculate and that is what that ride op was saying. Personally would like to see another inversion coaster at MW...I don't really care for air time but whatever MW get you can beat DW will try and better it so its great to have some competition for the parks. -
Movieworld to get a stand up coaster?
lisalila replied to dreamworld_rulz's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That's very exciting! seems like MW are 'tapping' into the thrill seeker demographic while DW tap into the family demographic. -
How do we buy tickets to it? I had a look on the MW site and couldn't see anything..can we buy them yet?
-
Just ask the ride op if you can go to X gate..that's what I do when I want to sit somewhere specific on SE.

Well dont know about you but I read the post after Mickey edited his post and both posts made sense however you're post saying that mickey edited his post had nothing to do with you miss spelling heard. I'd also like to point out that I, like you, am a member of this community and there for I am allowed to make a comment on a post as I see fit providing it is within the rules of postage..it is called having an opinion and is human nature so please get over yourself before you tell others to get over a topic.

I loved the Demon, too bad the park sucked when I went...my brother spent the whole time going "it was much better in 99...hanna barbera land was over there..this and that was there it use to be better". If I remember correctly it was my first steel roller coaster. Him editing his post has nothing to do with you mispelling on yours..which is what Bussy was pointing out.
-
It means that because of www opening wnw won't get a full effect of visitors because some will go to www. At least that's my opinion of what it meant.

Might be hard to get RACV tickets if they are from Mexico.. Curiously Gazza have you been on SE during non school hol periods? because during normal operation they only run one train and it's usually 15 or more minutes wait..towards the end of the day you might get two in a row or someting but not "anytime" and definately not 10. School hol's you have a chance to do 10 in a row because they run two trains but good luck any other time. Que lines depend on popularity as well, in the heat rides like wild west falls will get packed especially near the end of the day (I went to go on it at 3pm and it was a 2 hour wait), other rides like the claw have fast que lines so does the wipeout in a sense because it seats 40 people.. The Cyclone is slow because they only normally take in one group at a time. Giant Drop can be slow because it only seats 16 if both sides are working. Never really waited more than an hour and 15 for a ride at either park but your best bit is if its hot do the wet rides first if you want to do them, do rides like the giant drop first and probably the tot.
-
Did you miss this post saying where it was Spotty?? Also theres HEAPS of room for more rides at the Melb Showgrounds because they are mostly smack bang at the train station entrance which was a stupid place to to put them all.
-
Personally speaking (from just a riders/visitors p.o.v) I don't really like LPS and the ranger there is crap compared to Melbourne's. Awesome is definately not a word I would use to discribe it T-Bone. The only rides they have there that I even remotely like is the Ferris Wheel and the Tonga Train, everything else is just crap to ride. But you seem to be forgetting what Communities/message board's are actually for..what gogoboy and everyone else says on this site is strictly their opinions, you may love LPS to death but that doesn't mean the rest of us have too, that doesn't mean we can not bag out LPS just like you can bag out LPM or any other theme park in the world. That is why it's called an opinion. That is what makes us different.

Its bigger? damn didnt look it. I did love the lights on it though..they were shooting upwards like fireworks. Little squashy in there but the line up system was really good even though they were only using 3 out of the 5 rails. The placement was good too.
-
We went on the Hard Rock..it is so damn intense..more than last year!! I almost passed out on it and felt very sick and dizzy afterwards. They've done something to that ride.. The Ferris Wheel..honestly..the line system is good (and the $25 for a group of 4) but I prefer the Durkins Wheel. Went on the Crazy Coaster..shouldar hurt after all the spinning and banging we did. The fireworks and night entertainment was good although the wind was cold. We were right under the fireworks (when they went off) so nice view, the other side got smoked out hehe. I honestly dont like the new grounds..they LOOK good but the placemnet over everything is just so off. All the thrill rides are smack bang together at the train station and its just packed there..and than there is the Epsom rd end where you have rides like the Hang Over, Gravatron (or whatever it is called at the show), the kiddie bungee jumping..the showgrounds are huge and they should really use that to their advantage. It was nice finding places around the grouns not over croweded but the placement of some things was just awful. Oh yes and the palcement of ATMs need to be re-changed, should have just left it where they were last year..smack bang in the middle of the main footpath..it took us 20 mins to find a atm machine which was inside the Weekly Times building. Other than that I spent too much but am going back next Saturday
-
I couldnt find it either Gazza and I think they advertise the smiling/laughing images most because they want to show people that its a fun place to come too..it's just advertising marketing really.
