  1. This is what is the most interesting to me - by all accounts, the ride's ready to rumble, and yet it's still closed.
  2. Definitely worth considering that our parks have gone through what Craig Davidson (former CEO of Dreamworld Ardent Leisure Theme Parks & Attractions Division) would describe roughly as a "once in... history sort of thing." There's been more rides down for extended periods of time from both Village & Ardent than any other time previously. Suffice to say, once when Sidewinder pops out of unexpected, extended annual maintenance, I think that'll be the last of this frustrating out of the blue maintenance. With that in mind, there's probably not enough to justify specific ride threads about maintenance, but maybe "just" enough for a pinned thread about Movie World & Dreamworld with the rest lopped into a general maintenance thread. At the end of the day, i'd just like the parks to be accountable - the days where you get to do dodgy stuff and think no one's watching are over.
  3. Just hid 41 45 46 posts that definitely went beyond our guidelines, including: Certain topics should not be discussed. A friendly & helpful attitude is expected at all times. Users are limited to a single account at all times. Promotion (or using Parkz to sell stuff without our consent) The moderating team follow @Richard's lead in trying to be as hands-off as possible, not because we don't care but because we're simply not interested in being adjudicators/babysitters in member squabbles. Rather, we'd like to see robust, adult conversation about theme parks, and in this case, we're here to ensure that doesn't get too weird. The message going forward from me is that when you're on here you simply try be decent human beings - no means no, do unto others, don't cause un-necessary drama etc. etc.
  4. Finding the page in the old sitemap reveals this:
  5. Have we had a full roster of rides running for a realistic amount of time post TRR?
  6. Confession time - i'm constantly checking the forums, social media etc. for literally any kind of update but there's nothing at all, which is pretty bizarre. Basically, a 20+ million dollar project designed to save Dreamworld has gone dark. Makes me really worried. ๐Ÿ˜• If there was ever a time for Dreamworld to get signed up onto Parkz it's now, because i'd imagine they're blasting away tons of guest goodwill by not posting any new information anywhere.
  7. Surprised to see no discounts on Yabby Lake wine or Lisa Blue Bikinis. ๐Ÿคจ
  8. Reposted from The Sun - pretty classic News.com.au clickbait affair. Gravity Max (the tilt coaster in Taiwan) doesn't line up 100% with the vertical drop due to strong winds so it tilts back & opens up less than an hour. CRAZY SAFE REDUNDANCIES BATMAN! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  9. Why are they doubling down on a clearly flawed design aesthetic that literally no one else in the industry uses? This map, like the other new VRTP maps, fail at the one thing it should do well - being a map. As an example - give both maps to a mate and see how long it takes them to get from say the exit of Constrictor to the entrance of Black Hole and you'll see the difference. Like deadset, why did no one at VRTP take onboard the dozens upon dozens of complaints about why 1:1 scale maps are a terribly flawed idea? Don't even get me started on why back of house areas shown on public-facing maps - it's just so ill-conceived for so many reasons.
  10. You mean like this one that @Richard already wrote? It compares other delays and breaks down the context behind why the delay is so critical for Dreamworld pretty well, imo.
  11. FYI, from time to time we pre-approve some user's posts, and he's just joined the list for now. It's a timely reminder that if you see an obvious troll posting obvious garbage, you can report it to us using the "report post" link that's on every post. Alternatively, if someone's being a continuous asshat, you can simply hover over their name and click "ignore user." Also, if you're new to the site and you're unsure as to how legitimate a post is, other members liking posts with the fountain of improbability is a great indicator of how accurate the claims made actually are. It's also a great opportunity just to remind everyone that the forums do have Guidelines. As for the actual topic title - I think the only way Dreamworld survives in the decades to come is for a major refurbishment, far larger than what the OP is suggesting.
  12. I wonder what the story is for its clone in Mexico?
  13. Almost 100% of that is bullshit. You were warned yesterday in this very thread, and this made up crap simply doesn't outweigh whatever other opinions you post here. We've been really forgiving and polite about this but enough's enough - consider this a very public last warning.
  14. It's been said a million times before but as a theme park you can't just choose to focus on one part of the market because that's literally how theme parks die. Furthermore, focussing on families is a PR choice and nothing more - literally every major player knows that there's about to be a huge dip in the family market due to a generational gap, which is why there's so many new roller-coasters being built. Conditions are also ripe for big a new ride, not to mention overdue. For Dreamworld to succeed, one needs to look beyond TRR and even look beyond Village and take a gander at what's happening globally, and what they're doing right now isn't it.
  15. It's definitely worth checking out the community guidelines, I think you'll find these sections under Membership that i've picked out relevant: We're all happy to have you on and contribute. I'm personally not interested in watching you come back week after week under a different pseudonym (yes we have our ways of knowing who's who) and slowly making bigger and bigger claims of grandiose, only for myself or one of the other mods to clean up the fallout (FYI, it's not a paid gig, we do it because we love theme parks and want to share our passion with others.)
  16. Dylan Theme Park Enthusiast, not even an hour ago you said: So what is it? Take the hint, we know when you're lying, pull your head in, follow the rules or we'll ban you again for the third fourth fifth time.
