  1. I have been wondering, why haven’t we seen a water park Tycoon game yet, It could be quite fun and many people who play RCT would probably play it too. Here are some of my ideas for a water park game, tell me what you think. Slides, Every slide available now, from standard slides, to raft rides, master blasters bowl slides, extreme slides and many others. Other attractions such as Swing things, mini golf, Chairlifts and trams, and jumping towers. Pool attractions such as small, medium and large wave pools, lazy rivers, rapid rivers, whirlpools, spas and artificial surfing waves. Kids attractions such as water playgrounds, pirate boats, small slides, loads of fountain types, and fibreglass animals. Food outlets in the game wouldn’t sell individual items depending on the size, for example, carts could only carry one item, while hole in the wall outlets could carry 10 and large sit-down outlets could carry 25 items, all which you would have to research. Staff could include Handymen, Lifesavers, Mechanics, and Pool Cleaners. There would be 3 types of people, Kids, Teens and Adults, Teens can ride anything, but kids would only use small slides and shallow pools ect, while adults would use larger rides, but not kids ones. The game would be done in full 3d because the game would not require large numbers of polygons, for example, one slide segment could be done with 10 or so polygons, and 4 for the support, so frame rates would be high. Another feature in the game could be visiting mode, where you make a character (like in the Sims) then you enter one of your parks and actually control your character to run around the park, and you would be able to interact with things around the park (eg play around with water cannons, ride on rides, swim in the pools, and buy food), so if somebody recreated a real water park, people could see what it would be like to walk around in. Other things in the game could include heating your pools, if it’s too cold, visitors won’t swim unless it’s heated. Rides would be rated on criteria similar to RCT: Intensity, Excitement, Fun value (Nausea never really happens at water parks) , but another Variable could be an Aesthetical rating, so that would encourage you to theme stuff well, or else guests wont like it as much and would say “Raft slide 1 looks really drab”. What does everyone think of my idea? Attached is an un-textured pic of how the game could sort of look.
  2. SDSC uses a vertical lift where the car rolls onto a section of track, and the track section is raised like a lift. Before the lift is a set of brakes that stops the car going foward if the lift isnt down in position. The issue people are discussing is whether the car could roll off the section of track before the lift if the lift is in operation (going up or down) because the track ends there.
  3. I think its just a set of pinch brakes that the car cant continue past if they are shut because of the friction.
  4. Maybe you could try the park?
  5. Hmm, I dont know, how good was photo editing software back then? Thr colour of the shadow on the SP building roof looks a little lighter and a bit more blueish compared to the rest of the shadows in the park.
  6. You were at school 3 days before Christmas?
  7. Well, its a bit different down here in Victoria, and htey often can demand these things if they are working on major projects because for the developer it is simply easier to bow to the union demands than it is to have their project held up.
  8. What if you want to rename something, for example, Alpine tobboagan park is now named Funfields just so you know.
  9. Thats true, Construction workers can earn up to $100000 a year because of all the allowances they get for every little thing.
  10. Yeah, i think Id believe in an offical aprk press release rather than the email response from some staff member who the news hasnt trickled down to yet.
  11. No he didnt, He said that demon has a boomerang, which he has never seen on a non vekoma coaster, in other words, he has only seen boomerangs on vekomas. But anyway Steve, if you insist you are right, here are some vekomas that arent Boomerangs, which have the boomerang (cobra roll) element: Shenlin Face/Off HangOver Invertigo Stunt Fall Deja Vu Unknown -flamingoland Unkown -OCT Bejing
  12. Dude, stories like that exist everywhere, and none of them are true, like someone said to me that on LW someomes leg got broken because it hit a support, there just stories people make up to scare others.
  13. Coasters with boomerangs that arent Vekoma(AKA Cobra roll, batwing): Alpengeist Avalancha Hydra the Revenge Incredible Hulk Jokers Jinx Kraken Kumba Silver Bullet Mad cobra Monte Makaya Orochi Poltergeist Pyrenees Sceam! Medusa Colossus Dominator Drachen Fire Dragon Kahn Dueling Dragons (ice) Flight of fear Tornado Superman: la Atracción de Acero Wildfire Batman and Robin, the chiller Just to name a few
  14. but still, that only leaves us the eqivalent of $9.1 million USD, can they really shave 3 or so million off compared to its US counterparts?
  15. "Superman: the ride". Check rcdb.
  16. Rabid, storm runner cost $12.5 million USD but in this press release our ride is going to cost $12 million AUD so doesnt that mean that our ride wouldnt be as big? RCDB says that the ride is being named "Superman: the ride". I think it was named by the same person who named "Batman: the ride" and "Lethal weapon: the ride". See for yourself: http://www.rcdb.com/id2999.htm
  17. Steve, thats the dumbest thing i have heard in a while, japan has TONS of waterparks, they even had the largest single waterslide structure (50 slides) till it was destroyed in an earthquake. They also have the worlds largest indoor waterpark, so they probably do like the "feeling" of water.
  18. I think its possible, Accelerators are selling quick, so the price should drop, also, steel ect is cheaper here so that can reduce the cost a bit. I think we will get an average sized coaster, no higher than 50m. I cant imagine much themeing, it will probably be over a field of gravel like LW, with some average themeing around the station, i mean, just how can you theme a superman ride? Kanonen at Liesberg is being built at a cost of 50,000,000 SEK, this is equivalent to 9,699,175 AUD, i think around 2.3 million dollars to spend more and the fact that Aussie steel is cheaper than Swedish steel could make a difference, and we will end up with a nice ride.
  19. Yeah, double sreamer wins it for me because it has that conveyor system. There is actually another tobbogan slide at this crap place near bendigo called Arakoon, its shut down now, but the slide went down a hill and it landed in a muddy dam, it wasnt even painted and the water was supplied by this tap at the top, not a pump like at waterparks.
  20. Inverted coasters and regualr coasters are able to do exactly the same kinds of manouvers so i dont know where you got if from that Inverted coasters have more "track types" ("did you mean track elements") I think both coaster types have their merits, you can get the feeling of your legs being chopped off on an Inverted coaster, but normal coasters can have head choppers. On inverted coasters your legs can dangle freely, but on some normal coasters (premier loopers for example) can have lap bars, giving upper body freedom. They are just completley different rides
  21. Isnt it funny how the ride we are most looking foward to is only a small proportion of the total $102 million spending. Can you please give us some hints on the layout rabid. It gonna have to be good, its number 8 in the line of rocket coasters, so i think they would have had to have fine tuned it to perfection by now, cant wait.
  22. About time too, This is one of few Aussie waterparks, it was waiting to happen. If they can have waterparks where it snows in Europe and the US, it makes we wonder why a hot country like ours cant have one. Good luck to them I say, Im putting this place when it opens on my "To do" list.
  23. I bet in a couple of months it will lead to something like "The wonderland childrens correctional facility" or something like that.
  24. Now, this is what I have been hoping for, the new WnW sounds great, and I will definitley be visiting it. WooHoo, a rocket coaster, finally, a park down here is buying up in the latest technology, I cant wait, please let it have inversions. SWs water park expansion, now theres a bolt from the blue, Id thought they had forgotten about that place. As for WnW, I like the water playground idea, those big tipping buckets are so cool, as for mammoth falls, if they are expanding it we could see a tornado slide like at SFHH. Could this be the start of a theme park war?? I hope so.
