  1. Was at WWW today - very busy all day - in particular the lines for Super Tubes Hydrocoaster & The Green Room so do those first 2-3 times so you have the credits early on in the day.
  2. Haha, touche. Bet they don't have a nearby rollercoaster to enjoy watching as you scarf down a barfburger though.
  3. Nah I was just making a joke with the whole secrecy thing. They DO WANT to put raft lifts into the park in general but doing it for Tornado is tricky, because of the angles.
  4. Definitely worth it. State of the art rides, easy connection to DW via the special gate, nice relaxed atmosphere and where else can you eat at a cafe called 'Bite Me!'
  5. I do agree about it being a bad decision to not put it in WWW but still, it's easy enough to go between the two parks via that gate so if you're in your boardies anyway, just veer left of The Rip and go into DW. If you have an annual pass or day ticket to both, it's not that hard. Then go back into WWW.
  6. Don't worry about it being late - we know and appreciate that you're busy. (1) An excellent update. Some really fantastic shots, particularly the one looking down the Boulevard with the purple lighting & the one after it with the harvest. Can't wait to see it for myself this year. (2) Looks hilarious! Talk about a surreal collision of pop culture. Hoff & Jack Sparrow & Bill & Ted & ... oh my. (3) Lighting looks cool but it seems like it'd be a pretty boring show. Was it? Thanks for sharing them with us and a nice preview for my turn this year. What are your travel plans for the year?
  7. Not allowed to say, sorry. *taps nose*
  8. Yeah. Thunderbolt was fine, I didn't have a problem with it. My God I miss it though While I found it a bit rough at least it was a half-decent coaster not a p.o.s like Cyclone
  9. Same with me. My friends always have sore heads ... and red ears ... but I always really enjoy it and don't find it overly rough.
  10. Definitely. And I'm sure Movie World has shaken up DW. Something special is sure to be on the cards.
  11. WWW is quality over quantity though. And I could enjoy riding the slides for half a day then go over to Dreamworld - but could easily do a whole day instead. You should still get passes, they're only $125. Then on Saturdays you could hit both, ending up at WNW later in the day and evening.
  12. I actually misread that part of the post...
  13. Chaos Maniac: I wasn't not talking about replicating Expedition Everest. You said you were glad we'd never see a ride like EE. While I agree replicating EE would be largely pointless, to do something on a similar scale but with a different theme wouldn't... Joz: misread your post
  14. Glad? How come? Never say never. It won't be tomorrow, next year or 5 years but we might just see such a budget two or three decades down the track. Nothing's impossible. Glad? How come? and never say never. It might be a few decades yet but we might just see it one day.
  15. Great report, thanks for sharing it with us. I'm surprised to hear that you were told you aren't allowed to go backwards on TOH as on both visits have been allowed to. Maybe he was just kidding with you. Pipeline Plunge is the surprise attraction really, it's way more fun than I expected though you end up with heaps of water up your nose
  16. See that's just it - as well as being a standalone park, WhiteWater World is for all intents and purposes an expansion of Dreamworld with the existance of that gate. Dreamworld's a really good day or two for families and the general public who want thrills and many different experiences. I'm a Movie World man through-and-through over DW but think the DW/WWW combination is better than the MW/WNW one.
  17. Yes you do need to purchase admission to use the interchange gate. The cheque from the insurance company came and I replaced my stolen camera so will head out there around Tuesday or Wednesday next week to take a heap of shots and pick up my annual pass. So I will let you all know how busy it is. It was very quiet on my last visit there with friends, the 16th (the bulk of the day). Speaking with the park supervisor that day, they were expecting a massive influx of people after Christmas & I know him from working under him during his Wet'n'Wild days so he wasn't just passing me a positive spin in a park<->guest sense.

    The Wii

Just a tip for you Virtual Console gamers playing at home ... Set your Country to United Kingdom. You will have to set the Parental Controls setting (as in, off or on) and then go into WiiConnect 24 and say yes to the agreement again. Now when you go into the Wii Shop, you'll find you can access Turbo Grafx games. These weren't brought to the Australian Wii Store because the system never came out here and so they thought demand wouldn't be worth the licencing fee. Normally they cost 600 points. Voila! Extra games for you to play. R-Type, Bomberman, you name it. Today's new games were released as usual at about 10AM. They are - SNES: Super Castlevania IV, SimCity (800 Points Each) NES: Baseball, Ice Hockey (500 Points Each) Turbo Grafx: R-Type (800 Points) Not a bad lineup. R-Type and SC IV are the pick of the bunch and of course SimCity has the nostalgic value. Not sure if the NES ones are any good but they're cheap. Ice Hockey looks fun actually.
  19. ^ Weather here is always beautiful. Board shorts are certainly allowed. Tips for a first-timer? Hit the Extreme H2O Zone first and ride the ones there a few times so you have achieved that much. Whitewater Mountain (body flumes) can also get long lines during busy days so do that early too.
  20. And on the lazy rive, tubes are there waiting for you. You do not need to hire one.
  21. Kinda hard to tell what the pattern is with the horrible camera work though. Having that big tree there blocking the view was a really bad landscaping decision too.
  22. Exactly!... MW always have countless photographers but aside from the occasional few, they never wind up on the website, not even in low-res form.

    The Wii

I doubt it. I think it's just a case of most new TVs having it on by default. Don't quote me on this though. We can only hope. A Boxing Day bonus perhaps? Games are normally added about 10am every Friday. Maybe all the new people Wiiing broke the system.
  24. Don't misread me. In my previous post, I clearly stated they need a family ride just as much... and you know, they could do a ride which sits in that middle ground. Okay so to the general public, the Cyclone could be rated a thrill ride but having spoken to numerous people during DW visits, it seems people in a variety of age groups are over it. And to many people, the queue times would put them off particularly in the midst of an Australian summer. Wipeout & The Claw are excellent inclusions in the lineup but you can't do them all day. A single addition to the thrills department that is really cutting-edge and an Australian first would make DW much stronger. It could still be something many families could enjoy but c'mon Dreamworld, let's not keep world/Australia firsts to Whitewater World or providing new thrills to Movieworld. A dual addition to the park would be an excellent investment by Dreamworld: a really fantastic family ride & an equally worthy thrill ride.
  25. They need one of those too but if they don't put in something ultra special in the thrills department, they're going to get further and further behind Movie World.
