  1. Knew it would be a half-pipe! I agree. I think the park needs another few rides to round itself out. For adults, we have Bermuda Triangle, Pirate Ship, the Viking's Revenge Flume and Corkscrew. Now obviously you can do each of those a couple of times and Corkscrew even several times more again but having the half-pipe but also another ride or two would top things off to make it more rounded. SW does the marine exhibit thing well but the one in Orlando has Journey to Atlantis/Kraken to round out the park. Our one doesn't have a major drawcard ride. I think we SHOULD have one even if they have to take out the castle/theatre area or something to accomodate it. So I'm thinking the halfpipe, a major circuit coaster and a flatride...
  2. Ok. Why don't we lay off criticising other people's spelling? This is the Internet. The odd mistake is nothing to stress over. Also, Drewboy, that IS a valid way of spelling 'realise'. But I reiterate, stay on topic and don't get personal.
  3. yeah I'm guessing it's a half-pipe. Would be awesome.
  4. Well, this was going to be a secret but Richard and I are going 50:50 on a private official r-c.com.au jet ... so the trip over won't be that bad.
  5. I highly doubt SFMM would be closing... better not, I'm planning on going there with my friend Adam when we do our overseas trip next year (much to a certain Daniel's envy ).
  6. I will be getting vision/stills this weekend of construction/Flowrider so expect a site update with that shortly.
  7. Hi, I'll talk to you about the site over the weekend. Positions still open people, if you're interested
  8. Yeah, our plan is to pre-purchase one of those $5 passes and go Saturday.
  9. And that is another way of being totally annoying, hey guys?!?!
  10. Hahahahaha! Best footage ever... I'm surprised that person didn't drop the phone... talk about the very definition of a deathgrip...
  11. Yeah. I do wish they'd do an ultra realistic game with the variety of the RCT franchise ... gotta say that I'm sure the graphics will improve significantly as they look a little rough at this stage.
  12. Hi there everyone. Received this press release tonight for my soon-to-launch online magazine about an upcoming title from Atari/Frontier that looks to be the followup to Rollercoaster Tycoon 3! Looks like a lot of fun and it will be great to have a theme park game where you can have full interaction with guests and the attractions: from riding the gokarts to playing the midway's sideshow games. ************************************************************** ATARI UNVEILS THRILLVILLE! Roll up! Roll up! Discover all the fun of the fair with Thrillville, a new kind of theme park experience coming this Christmas Thursday 8th June 2006 – Atari, one of Australia’s leading sources of interactive entertainment, today announces that it is to distribute Thrillville throughout Australia and New Zealand. Published by Frontier Developments Ltd, the leading independent games developer headed by games industry pioneer David Braben, Thrillville is a new game scheduled for release for Christmas 2006 on PlayStation2, PlayStation Portable and Xbox. Thrillville queue-jumps previous theme-park games with its access-all-areas pass to adventure and enjoyment, placing a fully interactive and customisable amusement park at the player’s fingertips. Throwing players of all ages immediately into the action, it allows them to experience the joys of creating and playing within their very own theme park. In addition to this, Thrillville adds social interaction, dozens of exciting party games for up to four players, and thrilling simulation unlike anything before. Thrillville also offers depth and rewards for those players who wish to customise and tweak to their heart’s content. Created specifically for the console audience, Thrillville is the first theme-park based game that lets players experience at ground level what they’ve created, and as a playable character they can actively chat, joke and even flirt with every single park guest. The game has over 100 different interactive attractions and five different parks, each with three uniquely themed areas, where the fun ranges from racing on go-kart tracks and playing mini-golf on self-designed courses to joining friends for multiplayer first-person shooter competitions and many other party games. Thrillville allows players to build and ride some of the most amazing roller coasters imaginable, as well as select where to place thrill rides, stalls and other playable attractions, such as videogame arcades, hover-car soccer, trampolines or bumper cars. As players tune their parks to perfection, even otherwise mundane tasks such as training staff are made light hearted as players improve their staff dancing and maintenance skills. Based around a mission-based framework, Thrillville provides a uniquely broad, deep and progressive gameplay experience. Meanwhile, a simple lobby system allows for instant access to players’ favourite attractions. At the recent E3 2006 event in Los Angeles, Thrillville received much critical acclaim and was chosen by IGN as a Runner Up for Biggest PS2 Surprise, a Runner Up for Best PSP Strategy Game and was nominated for Most Innovative PS2 Game, Best PSP Multiplayer Game and Most Innovative PSP Game. " ********************************************************************* Expect more updates as I get them. Sounds like a fun game even if it isn't particularly realistic in style. 13. Yep, got the call today too ... and the lady mentioned interviews with me too. 7.30AM - 10.30AM ... very spiffing. What she said to be was to wear 'normal casual' clothes and if possible, something bright.
  14. Thanks everyone. matt: In the Function Centre behind the Rod Laver (whatever it's called) Arena. The Mark Marcia and Kyle auditions are conducted in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Clarendon Street, Southbank. Tuesday if you got through on Saturday, Wednesday if Sunday (me) and Thursday if you got through today. Spooty: ... IDIOT WnW_Rocks: They show a mix of people who make it to Sydney and people who don't. A celebration meet would be awesome -- my pick would probably be Dreamworld, best overall bunch of rides! Much as I love Superman Escape. But if I am going thru to Sydney, I would probably be too busy working with a voice coach or something.
  15. I have just had the most incredible day. Came down to Melbourne and auditioned yesterday morning. After breathing in second-hand smoke, braving cold and drizzle, I auditioned with the Queen megahit CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE as my first choice. The first stage is the Producers and after going into a second waiting room was directed through one of two doors (left hand side) - where two producers and another lady were. Of all people, that lady was Venetta Fields who has had a long career and worked with such people as Pink Floyd, The Beatles & the Stones. So my confidence went out the window. I forgot some of the lyrics to the Queen song which I started with and had been listening to and singing for years! I was still allowed to keep singing for quite awhile - probably 45-60 seconds. The female producer and Venetta both said how bad it was I'd forgotten some of the lyrics. They were about to tell me to go when the other producer said to sing the song again but in a higher key. Had I had time to go away and prepare that and come back, I could have maybe done that but I was already upset over forgetting lyrics. I sung the song again pretty much the same way and was told that I had been unsuccessful. I was soo tired and this morning I was going to just sleep in and go to Luna Park and shop and stuff... guys, let this be a lesson to you: SOMETIMES IT'S A BETTER IDEA TO GIVE THE THEME PARKS A MISS .. I said to myself, "Well, you have come down to audition so keep auditioning!"" This time I showed up about 10.30AM and was able to walk straight into the building where registration/the auditions were. I had my hair done for the second time in as many days by the Garnier people. I didn't go to the Maybelline one not being into wearing makeup This time, I did a new song which I later found out hadn't been sung in the auditions yet. I won't say what it was on a public forum in case someone else going for Idol reads this post and it's something I'd like kept secret DANIEL HARMER *cough* anywayyyyy ... so this time it was for a producer and Mark Williams who sung the song 'Show No Mercy'' and is apparently a cricketer too (lol... I don't follow cricket but I know and love that song). Anyway they then put me through to the Executive Producers. I went into another hallway to wait where my picture was taken and I filled in a form about my musical idols etc. I listed Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, Shannon Noll, Mark Knofler & Kate deAraugo. Anyway after what seemed like a long wait but was probably only about 30-45 minutes (with about 6-8 people ahead of me), I was called in. Did the song, nailed it. They then mentioned me writing down Freddie Mercury and asked if I could sing any songs of his and I did CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE. They let me sing that for awhile, obviously liked it and talked among themselves. I heard one say to the other he particularly liked my first one (the one whose title I'm not going to mention) and the other guy nodded in agreement. But they waved the pink card at me and gave it over and said come back Wednesday morning 9AM for Mark, Marcia and Kyle! So. My forum members. It would be AWESOME to see some of you out there on the day to support me. You don't know me from a bar of soap or Dame Edna's purple hair but this would be a 'meet' that would really mean a lot to me. My mobile is 0433099083 and I'm thinking we could meet like 8.30 or something like that. but yeah, let's work something out.
  16. Or, those of you with foot odor could just take off your shoes.
  17. I'll work on some stuff today. Got Idol auditions next weekend in Melbourne so I'm a bit focussed on that then have the Brisbane ones the weekend after, if I need to go to those.
  18. Yeah. I remember that from back in the day.
  19. Wow, thanks for coming in with the pics - interesting to see. Will be in Europe in '07 with my friend Adam and we're planning on going to a heap of parks on the trip. Is Movie World Germany / Spain both worth visiting or is one better or what? How are they different? I love how the Lethal Weapon car is a cop car It's strange to look at those pictures, so many things look exactly the same - which you expect... but STILL - so it's like a bizarre parallel universe version of a theme park we all know.
  20. You know, when I was at Dreamworld on April 27, I went to Blue Lagoon with my friend Tristan and didn't think of it at the time as potentially being the last time we'd ever be able to go there but it could well have been. It's a nice area, I hope they run it for at least one more season. I think I'll just bite the bullet though and buy a WNW annual next then one for the water park when it opens
  21. You know, it would make for a pretty awesome thing to sit in while playing Rollercoaster Tycoon.
  22. Oh c'mon. We'll just pull off a casino heist or something, Oceans Eleven style. I'll take the Matt Damon role.
