  1. I maintain that the reason they say they can’t make money there is because they offer up glorified carni ride trash. If they made over the entire park to be an authentic heritage recreation of a classy boardwalk pier (a rose coloured glasses nostalgia image if you will) it would do a lot better as a must visit tourist attraction.

  2. With the parks closure, DW should try keep the hype going for upcoming attractions etc, to get people excited about new things when the park reopens. I think they should take this opportunity to announce the attractions name/theme and start sharing posts that ride parts are beginning to arrive. Even if construction won’t begin for a while, at least get the hype train going

  4. Yup. LPM and LPS should basically be in the same vein as Tivoli or Grona Lund...Historic parks that people actually want to hang out in, and have decent rides.

  6. Local independant councillor Ian Mutton has also weighed in on the new proposal with his community newsletter. Please find it below: https://www.ianmutton.com/2020/04/21/north-shore-community-newsletter-19-luna-park-lavender-green-development-application/ It would appear that Ian or one of his team is a reader of Parkz as the newsletter mentions the "procurement of an SC2000 Spinning Coaster" on the Pitt and Sherry site ( which incidentally can no longer appears to be found ) and also the recent markings in the Maloney's Corner indicating workings of some description He hypothesises that a new coaster is set to be installed in Maloney's Corner with the kids rides being moved to Lavender Green. Looking at the evidence at hand, I do not think that he is far off the mark here. It would make sense for LPS to attempt to clear some room for a kids section and the movement of these small rides to the Lavendar Green area would seem a logical choice. It remains to be seen if this is agreed upon and the proposal is approved.

  7. I wonder why the Government doesn't rip up the lavender bay train stabling and return it to green space, and split the difference, let LPS use the space more itensivley, and give residents additional open space. Seems a bit dumb to have prime waterfront land used for storage for just 4 trains that could probably be fitted elsewhere on the network.

  8. I've been on it once. Never bothered again - it wasn't worth the hike, especially hauling the raft.

  9. Spot on. I did see ground level pictures taken of this compound when the first timbers arrived. I thought it was Magician but maybe it was Jworld. I'm pretty certain its the track pieces and\or supports for leviathan.... 🤣

  10. theres been a fair bit of work done or vortex in the last 4 weeks and where leviathan is going, doesn't really look like their slowing down much at all really. They have a dam good excuse to cancel a lot of it yet it does appear to be piles of timber in the carpark altho I am going off the picture as dam covid-19 won't let me outta the house. Apparently staff have been advised not to expect the parks to be open till at least July 31st

  11. It seems like there is some construction taking place in the shed where Leatherface and House of Kain resided in. This photo was taken earlier this month. Also, the 1978 Ford LTD station wagon ( which was going to originally be used in the Halloween precinct in 2016) is sitting to the left of the Zombieland 2 maze. Not sure if that means anything? Maybe a Halloween Kills maze is in the works?
