  3. I was really hoping for contrasting colours to make this attraction standout. The purpose of this ride being moved is to add to MWs attraction count so it can handle crowds/queues better. The Superman Escape is the first ride you see when you enter under the arch. The park should want this ride to standout, not blend in. What do these colours leave as options for theme? Superman (again), Supergirl and maybe Wonder Women (just need some gold added into the colour scheme).

  5. I don't know any more than any other Joe Shmo on what maintenance the coaster needs and why. But I'm smart enough to work out that not one single other ride exists that fits all the categories of this thing once you consider what it is, what it's made of, the location and the fact it sits in a different regulatory framework than anything else out there comparable. So yeah I put it in a box of 1, because it is in a box of 1. I'm also smart enough to know it's not good business to keep your star player sitting on the bench, so if the ride has a certain amount of maintenance, it must need it. I fail to see why a comment like "I'm keen to know why", basically implying someone isn't prepared to accept that it's ok until they have been given what they feel is satisfactory information, is warranted. For me if the park says "This is how much maintenance it needs", which it has by scheduling it, then that's all the information I need. As someone who is no expect in the maintaining of a high speed wooden rollercoaster in Australia in 2023 who am I to question it? As for rusting... well wood doesn't rust, but it sure does bend, warp and rot, and there is also a hell of a lot of metal holding that whole thing together.

  6. There's also the GCI on the island in Southern Vietnam, but that too only opened in 2022. https://rcdb.com/19740.htm#p=130440 We are in uncharted territory here folks.

  7. Because you're being deliberately obtuse. There is nothing particularly exclusive about the climate on the gold coast. Wooden coasters are built in tropical climates, they're built in winter climates, they're built by the seaside and in the mountains. How many are in a subtropical australian climate with the ocean on both sides? One. Because you've put it in a box to try and make some kind of point, that it doesn't need to be in for the sake of this discussion. i'm keen to hear more about why this is necessary. If you're trying to imply that you have some sort of insider knowledge on why the maintenance cycle is the way that it is, we're just going to have to chalk it up to an incredible case of inconvenience and you're going to have to deal with all these folks who don't know what they're talking about speculating on a discussion forum. The reality is that climate factors should be considered by the designers and manufacturers and shouldn't place any more burden on the maintenance schedule than necessary. This is clearly necessary, which is why i've said (this will be the fourth time now) - i'm keen to hear more about why this is necessary. And just in case anyone thinks i'm having a go, i'll remind you where I said: So for anyone who 'is' allowed to talk about rollercoaster maintenance periods, and 'does' know of any other coasters out there with unusual maintenance periods - feel free to share - because that was what I was asking for. I can't believe i'm saying this, but thanks Dean for your comparison. Clearly though, this comparison rollercoaster gets less rain so your comparison is completely void as only rollercoasters built at in the state of Queensland between two oceans can be compared! /s

  9. To be honest I think that's more of a thoosie sentiment of not really liking stand up and finding B&Ms boring, so there was a lot of scepticism We haven’t really heard enough in terms of what the broader public thinks of a surf coaster.
