  1. AA closed in 2019, was demolished in 2022 and Groundwork for the coasters started over a year ago. abc kids world closed 5 months ago and groundwork for the coasters is nearly done, with all of the theming being assembled off site. i dont think its really comparable.

  2. The Cost to re build the Sky Voyager facade back to suit the area, while I believe is important to do at some stage, the capital can be better spent in the short term on more impactful projects that have better ROI. Such as a new ride. While impactful these works on Main street is more or less just repainting. The cost to rebuild the facades on Sky Voyager will be significantly higher.

  3. The Emporium has been repainted to remove the bright red, replaced with a better looking brown which gives it a better vibe. Apparently the whole of main street is being repainted to make it look more timeless. I think it looks great, and am happy to see the rest get painted the same. (thanks to Gold Coast Theme Parks on FB)

  4. I think what they meant is the missing part at the top of the 2 arms, pictured here.

  7. Saw this in person, it fits the area brilliantly and looks great! The street will look fantastic once it’s all done. I actually would love to see the roof taken down and some real charm returned to Main Street, although I doubt they will remove it. Pop a few hedge planter boxes out the front of the building and it will look even better. side note, has anyone noticed they have removed the Australian flag from the top of the entrance building? Not sure if it’s related to the Reno’s or something else? I sure hope they have enough decency to return it. I wouldn’t have thought the average public would notice however it was a random person waiting in the entrance line who mentioned it before I had realised, so people do notice this sort of thing.

  8. Anyone else think this may not open by the end of the year or will open in stages? (Jungle Rush and then Vintage Cars at a later date). When you look at the progress on Wizard of Oz, seems Movie World is well ahead. No hate on either park, just going by these updates across the parks.

  9. Honestly I'm surprised to hear that. It was probably happening every other week when I worked on it; I never stopped the ride myself but was there when it happened more the once.
