  1. My family and I were planning to use Q4U during out visit, glad to see its effective.
  2. Anyway, so I went back tonight and forgot my camera However I never returned to Maitland, really didn't seem to effort to drive 25 minutes out of town to go a show were someone got murdered the night before. So I went into Cessnock show again at about 8:30... and I got home at about 9:15. What can I say about Cessnock... hmm SHAME! Seems that half the rides from last night had just disappeared, the games area had only 2 games, the show bag area had ONE stand, the fast food area was closed, the bar was closed and we had to dodge all the water puddles. The only rides left were Star Chase, Sky master, yoyo, dodgems, one MINIATURE jumping castle AND a tilt-a-whir. I can tell now majority of you guys are impressed. Anyway, having a difficult time to choose which ride to go on from the large quality selection, I chose... Sky Master. Now I've ridden the Osbourne's Sky Master before and thought it was OK... but this time... well I've never feared for my life so much before. Every time it spun around you could hear the rust running through the pipes, harness' were moving up and down a little too freely when the ride was in motion... yes you read that correctly, there was a terrible grinding noise when it was locked upside down and not to mention the floor lifting up due to missing pop rivets. I personally didn't think the Osbourne's could sink any lower... but Cessnock show has showed me (once again) they could. I really wish the organisers would wake up to themselves and realise there losing customers due to the lack, safety and quality of rides (as Cessnock show goers are in it for the rides and the FMX). Oh did I mention the entry price this year... $9 a HEAD!! So all in all my night at the show tonight was a waste:) OzShowKid what years was it that you worked. Cessnock had its best shows in 2003, 2004 and 2005, 2004 most likely being the best ever as they had a larger variety. Going by memory we had Go-karts, 3 dodgem set-ups, yo-yo, zipper, ferris wheel, 4 BIG jumping castles, an awesome mirror maze, haunted house, some really interesting, unique and old school rides (I have never seem them again), great shows, great music, great show bags, tons of demos, and a unlimited ride band for only $30.
  3. Not true. Had the same lineup from last year. The rides from Cessnock Show came directly from Newcastle foreshore. The lack of ride of quality rides is due to the osbournes. Music Trip didn't make it to maitland this year, still sitting at Cessnock.
  4. Well since I headed to Maitland and Cessnock Show tonight I thought to myself when I got home, hmm I might start a thread about the shows in Australia this year. So basically if you head to your local show, come back to this thread and talk about it and share some pictures. I myself am interested in what some shows have to offer and what others don't, what rides they have, what they don't have. Like I said I visited both Maitland show and Cessnock show (cessnock was washed out on Saturday last week so they decided to hold it again for this weekend), and must say, I was PLEASED with Maitland, but disappointed with Cessnock. I don't have much to say about it tonight as I didn't see any competitions or acts or anything like that and didn't go on one ride, but I'm going back to Maitland tomorrow night to go on a few things and some pictures. Hope to see some reports.
  5. I don't blame you not buying from the guy. I don't blame anyone not buying what a salesman suggest from outlets such as Harvey Norman, Domain, etc. I know Sony and Samsung share parts, as does LG, yet there trying so hardly to hide this. I don't remember what the percentage was and where I heard it from but some percentage of LG and Samsung will sometime have the Sony screen, very rare but does often happen. As for TV's, the one's currently in from room is an LG 50 inch (new) 1080P from JB, and my projector is Epson supporting 1080P as well. As for car audio, I honestly don't agree with you at all, they NEVER were good with some of their first head units not even have the MOSEFT component. Since my info about TV's was only knowledge from people who HAVEN'T experienced what you have, I must say impressive.
  6. It was closed for 5 weeks but now its been dated on the myfun site as being closed longer. It's maintenance isn't finished until the 22nd of March, when it was originally supposed to only go to early March. Anyone know why the long downtime?
  7. Unfortunately Alex, I believe Sony lacks in two areas. Televisions and car sound equipment. There TV's are fairly expensive when they offer the same amount of features as Samsung or LG. Apparently (could be wrong so sorry if it is) but Sony tvs too have a high failure rating as well. As for the car audio... well they simply just don't research, use cheap chinese circuit components and haven't even upgraded there x-plod range which has been out for a long time (pioneer, clarion, kenwood etc. release a newer much better model of there products every 12 months). As for software and home entertainment products (excluding tvs) I rate 100%. Can't wait to see you video's.
  8. Lol. That's what the pictures look like when I visited... except every seat was full. Was kinda funny to watch riders leave the ride... well that was until it was your turn.
  9. Nice filming and editing techniques. Seems to me like you've done a course in highschool? It's good to see a video based around theme parks/water parks and not have techno as the music.
  10. Boomerang at KBF feels like being stabbed by millions of needles whether its raining or not! lol.
  11. Hmm talking about rides which do and do not operate in rain, California Screamin' was running in the ran when I went. Man it hurt. Funny pictures though, of ALL the trains, everyone's head buried in their hoods.
  12. Yup sure is. Shark Encounter is the name of the experience. Although they use an acrylic cage as apposed to the traditional steel cage. It kind is fairly expensive but the money does go to good causes as said by Alex. You get to choose between a snorkel OR an exterior line scuba (license needed to use line) and basically just watch the sharks get fed. I'm doing the Dolphin swim this year, it is the most expensive but apparently worth it. Time will only tell.
  13. Depends. If your a swimmer, an animal lover and love to listen its your thing. I did it in 2006, and came out feeling a bit disappointed. Because of all the liabilities you spent majority of the time briefing and debriefing spending a total time of 20 minutes in the water. I was disappointed a little, the time I had in the water was good, but nothing beats the real thing. If its your first snorkel with tropical fish than its a good introduction.
  14. Does seem a bit steep. I can pay $14 at Zone Empire and get THREE 20 minute games, on top of the ability to play the xbox while waiting to play and all my stats being saved on a database.
  15. A TR has just been posted on theme park review. Check it out if your interested. TR DL Paris
  16. What? Where did you get this from. Tatsu, a BIG B&M Flyer was only 21 million? And then what about the diving machines? Their pretty big, Sheikra was only 13.5 million. Myself personally consider the Ridler to be pretty big too - 14 million
  17. Thats crap... I just bought my 3 park super pass the other week! AND ITS NON REFUNDABLE!!
  18. Remember LW is really hard to recreate due to the lack of angles and elements. I would be really interested to see you're final of LW
  19. Standard SLC layout to help you PAIN!! Whilst talking about WWF... What was the price of this ride as it just has letters, numbers and symbols on the data base (on my comp anyway).
  20. The concept to me is OK. However really isn't suited in the location you have given. Even though this is engineering oriented its not in my engineering area. Maybe if it was electrical Just keep trying, accept the constructive criticism and make changes where needed. If you believe you can pull it off then you most likely can. Good luck.
  21. No no I meant I don't understand why people would wait in line. Not why people would just push others who are waiting.
  22. ^ Really? Every time I've been when its busy there HAS been a line, not long, but basically the river was full to capacity and you had to wait for others to get out for you to get in. Don't understand why people waited for it.
  23. Why? Because its the rules of being a member of parkz. Its in the guidelines. Before you signed up you agreed to follow the guidelines, if you don't agree with them than leave. But were they citizens of the country?
  24. MrT PLEASE STOP MAKING NEW THREADS! You could have just bumped that old thread up and asked in there. I mean it isn't like its more time to do... in fact its less.
