    At the end of the day and no matter how pretty DW has made SF, it’s just another spin & spew for DW to add to its other spin & spews. IF SV couldn’t increase the gate, a spin & spew won’t do it.

    It would have been a massive job to double the height of the shed because you don’t build a structure 10m tall and engineer the footings and steel work to take the load of a 20m structure. Every part of the shed, from footings to roof would require major work. Also, you remove the roof purlins, and the walls will fall over, therefore you would have major temporary bracing to stop the building collapsing. The effort involved in upgrading the shed to take the extra loads, sounds more costly than replacing the existing shed with a new shed.I remember the elevator and the higher roof added for the turntable but I don't remember seeing the shed double in height.

    Feels like MW are taking the piss when the rides are down to save money, while other rides have broken down and MW don’t open the ride back up to fill the gap.

    It wouldn't surprise me when the works commences and if the track replacement is extensive , the first thing we see is the removal of the elevator, to give them access to the ride. If the track work isn't extensive then they already have ways to access the ride without removing the elevator.

    @wikiversethe elevator sits on the outside of the then existing building. I believe the metal wall cladding attaches directly to the elevator. You can see in the picture the shed was already standing and the elevator was placed on the outside of the shed.
