  1. The original master plan for Jamberoo - many years ago. This is just the copy stored on the forums. I don't have ready access to these images any more - but this will give you an idea of the original colour schemes planned - even though the plan has been completely thrown out the window several times since then...
  2. @Jamberoo Fan - i think its great that you're showing an interest in more than just Jamberoo these days, but do try and keep up. The purple section in your map, which I believe is the 'dirt' carpark opposite AOS, is pretty much locked in that THAT is where topgolf is going. I do like that you're thinking things out and trying to see how they fit though. Side note - if Hotel was to go there, it would cause issues for filming in the outdoor tank. Firstly, in such a small footprint, it would need to be a small high-rise to be worthwhile. Since your plan has it sitting to the north and east, it is going to affect natural lighting for outdoor filming if it goes over about 3 storeys (which is why TopGolf will work in that location) Whilst we have a lot of info on a number of developments of the Oxenford property, there has been very little info for the hotel. If I were to build a hotel, I would put it up on the hill behind WnW (near where the outdoor 'river' set for Thor currently is) - they have all the land they need to play with a large, resort style complex in that location. If we take the 'hotel is on a carpark' argument, that doesn't work obviously, but if that be the case, i'd be pegging the hotel out the front of Movie World. Where precisely - can't tell you, but somewhere there.
  3. Far away on track tim, but gathered very close together on the ground - many footers connecting to a single point on the track. The ground is covered in them. ...and since we only have the ground to look at at present, that tells us nothing.
  4. I think new show, and new technology. I'm absolutely confident there is no link. I won't presume to state why - there are others here much more closely associated with AOS that could possibly offer a better explanation. I think it's just indicative that VR are trying to polish everything up ahead of the games so that they have the shiniest offering available.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned on here a number of times that the colour schemes were something that was raised by local residents, concerned about gaudy colour schemes being unsuitable for their rural location. It is possible Jamberoo has had to stick with deliberately drab palettes as a result.
  6. ^That's just it though @Richard - the fact that we DONT know the ride type is what has generated so much discussion. ***Of course - when you've got several pages worth of almost identical pictures - that'll tend to pad the topic a bit!!! Out of interest - is there a quick way to tell how many pictures have been posted to this thread? Are any of them making it into the database?
  7. Traditionally, what you say is true - you'd want to see more footings around, but not so much any more. Many high speed elements - such as an overbanked curve, have a single footing providing multiple supports to different parts of the element: According to nearmap, the distance between the centre of that slab, and the next nearest marking for a footer is only about 9.5 metres...(and bear in mind as we've seen, these large slabs are usually host to several support frames)... not entirely unheard of... for example the superman top hat has three supports - and the shortest distance between either of those 3 is about 8.4m. In the below image you can see the superman measurement, along with the two 'possible footings' on the construction site, and then (bottom left) you can see how the track might move (in blue) through that location (possibly overbanked turn, diving back into the curve identified previously), and in red the possible arrangement of footers for that location.
  8. Two things circled in blue: one looks like reo laid into a formwork ready for slab pour, the other looks like the 'square' footings we've heard so much about. The one closest the road is likely to be an angled support to take the high forces applied to it, kinda like this: Or it could be for unrelated purposes - like a sign on the roadway... but i doubt it.
  9. Would you say you need to get yourself away from this place?
  10. that's the way I like it and i'll never get bored...
  11. Nearmap has been across most of the gold coast in the past 2 weeks... here's a few updates: Aqua Racer at Wet N Wild.... GONE! ToT car, and the Cyclone sign - still residing in the DW Boneyard: Paradise Country - new accommodation options are fitting in well: Filming in the studios continues for Thor: Sea World's roof: Tiger Island: And White Water World's latest update - changing the shade sails over the kiddie slides to something that blocks a bit more sun: A very blurry shot of the Sea World train's new resting spot in WWF:
  12. A lot of families go to the parks on a shoestring budget to show their kids some fun. They can't always afford to dish out for every souvenir and upcharge under the sun. If I was in park, and had a wristband, I'd swipe my wristband for kids to have a turn or two.
  13. I have seen cleaners in the restrooms, however I have also seen the restrooms in a very filthy state. Unfortunately, people are pigs. Short of having a washroom attendant on duty all day, I don't think you could improve it much, as i'm sure all custodial staff rotate through the bathrooms regularly.
  14. Ummm..... No. I did notice that pile Skeet - the one thing to remember is that station houses usually require a lot more footers, so although we've seen about half of the footings installed (give or take) the remainder may have many of them allocated for station \ brake zones.
  15. @Richard - The movement \ gap is pretty small, but the issue is because it has separated, this then gives you two new edges, which lift. Rubbing on things (like a jacket, or camera strap) then causes it to lift and peel away.
  16. @thunder001 beat me to it, but heres a couple. Now open to requests for closeup or other angles on whatever is asked for.
  17. LOL. If you had made the attempt to try and report at least mildly factually, you'd probably have been allowed to stay. This isn't the first ridiculous reporting from @SamCucchiara9 (i think his report on the GL incident comes to mind). He shits me to tears... and this is why he's stuck in a regional bureau. #whatacockhead #SamCucchiara9
  18. My intention was to point out your statement that it 'validates the present status of the rides future' - not really. If they'd chosen to demolish it in 3 months time, I doubt they'd have answered any differently.
  19. it does look like they've been poured in place... that many that close would suggest a launch... mid course launch perhaps?
  20. Slightly off topic, but interesting nonetheless - i'd like to see MW bring out a VR fright night attraction such as this: http://www.news.com.au/travel/world-travel/north-america/haunted-house-attraction-shut-down-after-public-backlash/news-story/5d758028822bc3a8518ae4d19014d0c6
