  1. flat-chested females... or eunuchs. with no arms. Seems legit.
  2. I know it says rideS, but realisically - unless the park is going the way of Sunway management - rideS are inevitable.... nothing says it can't take 6 years to do it though! (although i'm hopeful it will be in the next year or so... i need something to bring me back to the parks... they've all been a bit *yawn* lately...)
  3. doesn't look female to me - are you sure? Either way, I guess they're 'armless.
  4. WE know the differences, but at the end of the day its the public perception that will drive attendance at the park (or not). Even if something is COMPLETELY different in our eyes, if it looks the same... the public will view it that way - and one of them will end up being 'poor cousin' to the other in the eyes of the public.
  5. Certain things will get people's backs up: posting rumors from the dippin dots guy, or from 'my sisters boyfriends uncle who works at the park'asking questions that have already been answered in the threadAsking for updates on a topic that only had recent news mentioned a few days previouslysaying "i know what <X> is, but i can't say"stating assumptions as factdisagreeing with Robb Alvey on TPR pages and facebook feeds (but only if you're Robb Alvey)...I'm sure there's many things other non-moderator members could add. I'm sure the Mods could add a few too. There are plenty of examples where everyone here gets along well, and enjoys good debate. Many people on here i've had more than a few run-ins with, who I now consider a friend. There are also many more examples of people who are stupid. Tolerance level for stupidity is low here, and is generally reacted to with speed and fury. Nature of online communities (almost) everywhere I guess.
  6. I think Brad's response came from the way you worded your own "obviously, you haven't....." I have, but as Brad points out - Universal do far higher attendance that can support such an attraction cost, and Draculas are a destination marketing that wholly and solely - in addition to an admission charge JUST for that product, rather than an all-inclusive gate price such as MW. It's fine to talk about what would be a nice attraction... but let's be feasible and realistic. It'd be nice for MW to beat SFMM's record and have the most coasters of any park in the world... but the park just can't support that.... so it's not going to happen.
  7. You mean since the dates announced on wednesday, and the snapchat teasers released up until friday? you mean has there been anything new since friday, over the weekend, typically whilst the PR guys aren't working? No. No there hasn't.
  8. Adding this type of walk-through attraction to the park on a permanent basis does not make sense. Mazes for FN are specifically done for an audience paying additional entry fees, which allows them to hire on scare actors temporarily. Adding this kind of experience to the regular park line up would be incredibly labour-intensive (wage costs), without getting any additional revenue at the gate. I also feel like scare actors working the same shift day after day would lose their lustre after a while too. There's only so many ways to say "boo". You'd get used to the maze very quickly if you visited often enough, which would mean the scares wouldn't work (Of course - they could change the maze up every so often, but that too comes at a cost) Contrast this with a stage stunt or illusion show - they're the sorts of things (PASS, MM etc...) that you can go to again and again, and enjoy even though you'd seen it before... not to mention that things like stunt and illusion shows you can change the lineup, insert new gags \ illusions etc to keep things fresh and unexpected.
  9. ...and here we see all the colours Dockside has been painted. As you can see - it was really getting on in years...
  10. It really is a very big waste of space right now. I agree they do some wonderful things with the stage for FN - but it's about the only time each year it gets utilised. It's time (as we've long discussed) for the show stage to receive a makeover - book a contract with a performer (magic\stunt\etc), do something a la Universal's Movie Magic show, or demolish it and put an attraction in. personally i'm in favour of the performer aspect - either Western Stunt show (which really needs an open air stage IMHO) or an illusionist. I know it doesn't really have any great movie tie-in (well you could if you tried) - but Millennium Magic \ Spellbinding Sorcery was always something i could watch again and again. I'd love to see MW do something like that.
  11. By necessity. When you regularly see millions of people attend your park, you've got to be able to work them through quickly. Our parks don't see anywhere near the attendance figures of the US parks, so the obviously don't need 4x 4x8 trains. The only thing you'll achieve by doing that is running trains half empty, or leaving trains stack in the brake runs whilst you wait for the one in the station to finish loading\get full. Two trains is enough here at the moment (although they have to run them!)
  12. ... and now that my multiquote is working again - to illustrate my point... (Ok I meant Jobe there, not Joz) The defence rests Your Honor.
  13. Texas... a southern state... a confederate state.... a state that has a place called MOONSHINE HILL wouldn't be down with the mason jar trend? Do you think Mason jars only became a thing recently? The south STARTED the Mason Jar "trend" out of necessity - what else were you supposed to store Moonshine in for shipment? That said - the jar itself looks MUCH bigger than a mason jar.
  14. That's true. Didn't realise there was a 6.2 - but it would technically fit inside the envelope - UFO has full vertical clearance at 19metres... that said - by all accounts, it's not an enjoyable ride... Someone figures out how to fit a SkyFly in there, and i'm there! SkyFly has a flight path diameter of 98 feet - or around 30 metres. This would suggest to me the landing zone only needs about 15 metres, which can be accommodated on the existing slab. Not sure of the clearances around with other objects like the lighthouse etc - but damn I wish they'd try.
  15. the decals have been there a while, and were apparently to fit some function they had there a while back. The UFO's footprint measures approximately 19.04 metres - and no additional clearance outside that envelope is required as nothing extends from that footprint, except vertically. Pandamonium measures 17.62 "at rest", however the ride envelope extends to 25.8 metres. This is of course because each gondola swings at the end of a long arm. Official Zamperla stats say full length\width of the ride is 26.5 metres. You're not fitting an Air Race in there.
  16. I thought the car on the fountain was recycled from Police Academy Stunt Show
  17. WnW's tornado is literally launch, turn around, splash. It's a vertical climb up 3-4 flights of stairs. The angle of the flume limits the ability for a conveyor to fit, and it's not that far. Given the #longest #steepest tags, Mi2 is a much longer trip. It would be crazy for them not to install a conveyor. I don't think it's a fair comparison for WnW GC - however I agree it is a pain to carry the rafts up the stairs. thankfully it isn't far.
  18. I asked google translate what you said - the closest I got was Ukranian, which said у црі евритім Д
  19. ...Got caught snooping around the sound stages, so they decided to use him as a prop in one of the mazes.
  20. ^And this is based on what? have you checked the sizes? Or are you talking out your ass as usual? You may not get the exact layout, but you'd be pretty close to having something of similar size and length. While you pull your foot out of your mouth - I'll do the hard work for you: I've used nearmap for the SW image as it shows the current level of reclaimed land. Google is still way too old to rely on. Unfortunately nearmap doesn't give me access to USA maps with my account, so good old google will have to do. The images are not to the same scale, but it is fairly clear to see that they have a similar space available. One end could even overlap Jet Rescue's first loop too.
  21. It's a new sequel in the blair witch series - brought to you by AndrewH
