Sea World - Creatures from the Deep

Agreed... the only thing I can fault (and it's nothing) is the word 'Folio'. -
Anything new happening at MovieWorld?
DaptoFunlandGuy replied to Linus1995's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think they should build a new tower ride inside the Superman Escape precinct and call it the "Doomsday Tower". Seriously though - I think we've got a MW speculation thread... and as there has been no announcement there isn't anything 'happening'... I'd like to see them re-do Western Stage - either open it up as a stunt show or performance venue with regular performances, or alternatively knock it out and start from scratch. I'd also like to see them contemplate a woodie in the current 'dumping ground' behind show stage. They also need to make something happen with Chinatown alley. That place is a mess, and it is also impeding traffic flow during peak times. There isn't really a way to get around the park during parade times. The old Arkham-Scooby laneway needs to reopen, if not the whole thing - just so people can cut around the masses. Finally, Arkham's courtyard really needs something else done to it - even if it's only a small flat themed to something JL. -

I think Pin might be making somewhat of a joke - considering the flavour is honey BAKED HAM and probably wouldn't make the cut for Halal certification. -
Nope - the 'city' was in a completely different area.

Pure baseless speculation, but I feel like the indoor queueline may have a capped capacity on number of persons permitted inside vs. number of emergency exits... doubling the queueline length by halving the width won't really help if that is a problem... just remember - what you've just read is baseless speculation...

Are all of these your own photos? I don't see any credit posted... so it seems like you're claiming all of these as your own, but I don't think they all are...

It worked for Woolworths... -
Ok - I can see a few issues with that, but considering he's compiled 100 pictures, names, parks and locations - it's a fairly impressive compilation. Does it offend me? No.

Source? I mean - if it's in some american rag that has nothing to do with parks, you could forgive them for getting sources or origins mixed up, but if it's an industry publication, or enthusiast site... it'd be quite different. This pic originates from IMGUR. Google's image search doesn't even turn it up, although it does turn up the original image, which is used in many coaster articles (none of which contain the caption). More info needed.

That would lend credence to my 'end of the day' theory...

I would not have thought VRTP would allow this sort of thing... but I guess so long as ride procedures were followed, it would be ok... (It wouldn't be the first time Ride Ops have done this - oh the shenanigans that happened at Wonderland including a few certain somebodies (who will of course remain nameless) riding Skyrider as a lazy way up the hill when it charlied.... Nameless people who were on a helicopter joyride will also remain nameless!) That said - I find that in keeping so "in character" to be an awesome touch, and if VRTP permits Arkham cast members to do this, (provided the ride safety system is adhered to, and the ride still has adequate operators), then i'm all for it!!!

No worries. If you accidentally post before you're finished, you should see a little 'edit' button right next to the quote button: As you can see, i've edited this post after I posted the above. Getting used to new forum software can be tricky - especially if you're more familiar with another version, or haven't used it before. You can usually edit your post within a few minutes of posting the original version. If you're editing for a specific reason, you can also add an edit reason - when you click edit - this appears below the edit box: And it consolidates it all into one post. There used to be a facility in the software where multiple posts in quick succession would be merged into one - but that doesn't seem to be happening right now... Richard? -
cue reply from someone else who went today, and rode in the morning, with a completely different experience. I think it's really hard for scooby to be 'bang on' with the fog all day long. Sure the machines should be capable of maintaining it - but with the constant movement of ride vehicles through it, it is constantly dispersed. I think those who experience 'heaps' of fog are usually entering the Disco room not long after the foggers have kicked in for a while and are at the 'high end' of the cycle... Others who complain it was poor are probably at the end of the cycle with the foggers only seconds away from kicking in again... I'm sure the techs behind this can explain why this is - or maybe even look into upping the frequency of fog bursts on the machines... but that may have the effect of drying the machines out quicker - meaning less fog at the end of the day. (I have no idea how big the tanks are on each of these - but maybe there is a fine balance between bursts and endurance?) On the flip side - maybe the machines deliberately switch off later in the day to save wasting fog juice at 4:30 in the afternoon-ish, and those who complain of not enough fog are those who dash in "after school" and only ever experience it that way? *patiently waits for someone in the know to correct me*

See - there's no excuse for a surly ride operator. There are plenty of causes - bad situation at home, other things on their mind, poor management and support... but there's no reason any cast member should bring that 'on stage'. I used to keep a 'memory bank' of 'happy thoughts' to think about right before I went on stage - they never failed to put a smile on my face before I entered the park, and kept me in a good mood for my shift, regardless of what else was going on. I think all the parks on the GC have let standards in this area slip, and I think responsibility for it lies squarely on the shoulders of management - either for creating or fostering a poor environment which makes the cast members surly, or for allowing surly cast members on stage without dealing with the issues. I have had some great cast members - both on the GC and elsewhere - so this isn't meant to be a 'park bash'... and it's very sad to hear of this experience Santa.

I don't know - it worked for Sea World didn't it? Besides - public transport is frequently wrapped in advertising material - just take a look at Translink \ Brisbane buses - covered in advertising in every way possible - so wouldn't 'wrapping' the MRT make sense? -

Thanks for the pics Dodge. I find it interesting that Dockside appears to be open for business. I'd have thought that they would have taken the opportunity to refurbish that at the same time, as well as to avoid guests dining on the upper balcony who would have a wonderful view of... rubble...
