  1. Reanimated35 to do with you question about clearance all rides and attractions have what is called a "surroundings clearance" basically any theming, other tracks, or objects anything, is not to be in these radius stated upon the rides concept creation / development plans. To make it sound more simplistic it's just like a big oval around a track kinda like a tunnel around the whole track that is invisible and nothing can enter into that tracks diameter. A good template as to what the Surroundings clearance looks like a good example well perfect example would be the cut outs on the Superman Escape show building where the coaster flies through. No matter the train as long as it fits the track correctly the surroundings clearance should not need to be altered at all which means the heights restrictions shouldn't need to be altered either. The only time the height restrictions should be altered is if the trains restraints are big, wider, ect
  2. THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY REACHES ANOTHER MAJOR MILESTONE ON SHANGHAI THEME PARK PROJECT BURBANK, Calif. – November 3, 2009 – The Walt Disney Company today announced that the Project Application Report (PAR) for a Disney theme park in the Pudong district of Shanghai has received approval from the relevant authorities of the central government of China. "China is one of the most dynamic, exciting and important countries in the world, and this approval marks a very significant milestone for The Walt Disney Company in mainland China," said Robert A. Iger, president and CEO of The Walt Disney Company. The PAR approval will enable Disney and its Shanghai partners to move forward toward a final agreement to build and operate the park and begin preliminary development work. Upon completion of the final agreement, the project's initial phase would include a Magic Kingdom-style theme park with characteristics tailored to the Shanghai region and other amenities consistent with Disney's destination resorts worldwide.
  3. Im sorry but im going to have to agree with Dj here on this over the past 2 months i have hardly even posted on the forums yet watched and noticed what each person is like and how they work in away. Speech patterns, regularity in argumentation/input to the forums or the way in which they input. I looked back at the earlier days of the parkz forum its funny back then arguments over petty stuff to major point making was slim to none were as these days its on a high. I speak for my self and many other members on here who have said the exact same thing here. There are a few members these days who all they do is put everyone and the ideas, concepts and even enquires down as soon as they are said in order to prove there point and make themselves always look right. Im not sure if its a power thing or maybe even makes them feel good to the fact they have to be on top of everyone and everything. But it creates a negative feel as to part of the reason a lot of the regulars that say 12 months ago would always contribute don't anymore. The site may get just as may views as it once did or even more now but its the opinion behind the views that now counts. I know my rant will fuel more and more conflict, but whats funny is its those who Iam talking about who will be the ones to show there true colours in my outburst in stead of takeing in the advice given or maybe even think about what i have said and consider it. But i know these people are stubborn and won't.
  4. In my opinion this is one of the smartest moves WVTP has done lately when it comes to the Shows and Entertainment side of things, Yesterday i watched some of the show rehearsals with Micheal Crocker at Sea World until the bad weather came over and ended it for the day. But from what he has said the product it's self isn't going to be put on show when its not the FULL product. He used HWSD as a example, it being a lesson learn't by himself and the company. The audience is going to react badly to it which causes a silent customer. Silent customer being the type that effected HWSD in its opening months. A silent customer is the type who will not complain to the company about the product but to family and friends creating a word of mouth impression which creates a negative input towards the show. Also he said Pirates Unleashed and HWSD are both in the same position were they have shoes to fill. Big ones at that he said. Which is true the Water ski Wipeout was a show of class, First class. Police Academy was a show of class, First class. This new generation of entertainment needs to live upto that class and standard and it gets harder and harder everytime to do that. All we can do is wait till the final product is complete and see how it goes. From what i have seen so far i have been impressed based on my thoughts originally.
  5. Look ill be honest here even im confused at the moment as to how the maze situation is going, i have been told that the zombie Kill Zone which has been advertised as part of the night, was going to be laser skirmish like last year. Though as of late i have heard it will also be a free of charge maze. At this current moment there are two actual mazes in construction using flats like our over seas parks do which is a first for us, both the china town area and half of the inside Que at Scooby are currently in construction with mazes. Shrek 4D i would assume will be in operation as for WB kids there is a fair chance it wont be seeing this years event are targeted at the older audience.
  6. Quick update. The Current mazes for the night will be: -Fun House Freaks Maze -The Torture Chamber -Dragon Alley -The Zombie Kill Zone There is also going to now be a new show called Restricted Freestyle Moto X shows on during the nights as a added addition. All in all i think the addition of all these new things plus the extra hours is now making this value for money. I shall keep you all informed on ticket sales and any extra info when i can release it.
  7. Late last week 12 year old boy got his leg lacerated when a cable snapped on the famous roller coaster Accelerator at the park. This then caused for the ride to do a roll back in which it went back over the snapped cable and the cable flung up between two trains in which caught contact with the boys leg lacerating it. Got a email about it from my mate Damien who works in the park and is part of the Accelerator crew he said this is a very common thing though hasn't caused huge damage as such till now. link bellow shows on ride footage which was taken and can be purchased after riding the attraction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGJGl4SfKCg...feature=related (Advice taken havn't posted in a while got used to my sloppy Face Book post's and it woul;d help i suppose if i read over it was kinda in a rush at the time.)
  8. I have done batwing 11 times in a row without missing a run. thats one of my best feats for our parks
  9. The main reason for the closer of the 3 attractions early is because of residential noice also on the basis that the park is running more nights this year. So it has been soley out of consideration also doesn't cause any long run or future hasles. Also quick side not based on your comment ash the 2nd maze last year was based for kids. This year Halloween fright nights is a adult/teenage aimed event with a much higher level of intensity not only in the mazes but in park atmosphere. Last year themeing was taken to a greater extent. This year we shall all be in for a huge suprise as planning for this has been huge from what I have been told.
  10. This year major changes have been made to Movie Worlds Halloween night's. Major changes is it's no longer classified as a "family fun night" it's now "Fright Night's" Also advised WARNING: The event contains intense experiences and is not recommended for children under the age of 14. We strongly recommend that all children be accompanied by an adult who shall be solely responsible for their care and conduct whilst on these premises. No refunds are payable Next major change Fright nights are on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st of October 2009 from 6:00pm – 11:00pm. Longer hours this year. There are going to be 2 intense haunt mazes this year including the laser tag which featured last year. All rides and attractions will be open till 11 except Superman escape, Batwing and Wild West Falls which will close at 9pm There are discounted tickets on sale NOW through myfun but are only valid on the nights of the 3, 10, 17 October. Normal ticket prices are $39.95 per person. Tickets are on sale NOW at myfun.com.au or call 133FUN Night Promotional details: Enter through Hells Gate into a world of horror and mayhem at Movie World this Halloween. Take on the freaks in the Fun House and run the gauntlet in the Torture Chamber. If that seems too tame, try to outlive the zombies in the Kill Zone. There’s no crazier place to be… we’re deadly serious. More Exciting details to come...
  11. For me Indian Jones temple of the forbidden eye in California would have to be my all time favorite its a ride on a grand scale and themeing is amazing from the point you line up till you leave the attraction you cant help but take your time so you don't miss a thing. But in saying that tough competition comes from Soarin it has the "WOW" factor, was oh so very impressed loved the music in the ques really sets the mood for the final flight also very impressive piece of technology and Equipment they use.
  12. Havnt heard any major details but shall inform you all when i do or if anyone beats me to it.
  13. Nothing is posted advertising it but you can purchase them at the ticket booths, its just like the Halloween tickets they only advertise by buying them on myfun.com or by calling 133fun but you can also purchase them at ticket booths, mind you i have heard this years Halloween to be a biggen
  14. As for the QLD vip pass debate you can purchase your pass at the ticket booths and you will be granted access to the park on the same day which is included in the price for the pass, exactly the same for those who purchase annual passes at the ticket booths.
  15. Some updated information As for the company in which the new train is coming from WVTP won't says at this stage as final plans and changes are still in discussion and there is still a lot of stuff in the air. As for the trains them selves they will be a great change for the ride and will offer a much better experience than ever before. Lets just say this won't be a train were you just sit on your bum like it is now from what iv been told. Finally there is going to be a far few changes to the attraction, during its transition there will be a lot to talk about for sure, very excited.
  16. Having gone on Tatsu for the first time exactly a month ago today just realized then, i would have to say it was one of the best coaster i have ever been on, As for X2 as they call it now it was a great ride huge line though but worth every second in the line up i manage to get on it 3 times during there summer time in USA surprising crowds weren't that big, but i find it hard to say which one is best at the park. While talking about the USA Trip of mine from July i have one thing to say Knotts berry farm Waste of time IMO would have preferred a extra day at SFMM
  17. Ha Ha Ha that's gold Gazza well done
  18. Reading though The Sydney Sunday Herald this morning and this Subject just happen to be on discussion. SUBURBAN PLEASURE DOME FORGET the ill-fated Islamic school: at last there is a development planned for Camden that residents might approve of. A joint Australian-American enterprise is looking for 25 to 30 hectares to build an indoor-outdoor water park with a 250-room hotel, 5000 square metres of conference facilities and themed restaurants. And despite the closure of Australia's Wonderland in Sydney's west five years ago, as well as the demise of Old Sydney Town, Sega World and Fox Studio's Backlot, the group believes there is a market for a pleasure dome in the south-west. The Australian half of the venture, JVPlay, based at Prestons, believes Sydneysiders deserve their own theme park instead of having to travel to Brisbane. "It's got everything that Sydney's calling out for," said JVPlay director Julianne Cusumano, who runs an entertainment centre in Liverpool that includes glow-in-the-dark mini-golf. She said the concept of indoor-outdoor water parks was booming in the US. "They slap them in the middle of nowhere and cities get built up around them." Ms Cusumano said sites at Leppington, Bringelly and Prospect were being investigated but the project needed private investment. She hopes the Government will help "with tax benefits, land or putting a little bit in towards it so it would be attractive to investors". The mayor of Camden, Chris Patterson, said council supported the proposal. He said if an appropriate site was found in the area, council had offered to help "where possible by arranging pre-development application meetings, giving advice on land and environment plans and explaining the pros and cons of the site, specific to its development application". Camden Council approved a McDonald's restaurant this month after the fast-food chain previously failed in its bid to open in the area. The council rejected an application for an Islamic school in the town last year on planning grounds. At a subsequent appeal in April, church leaders said the Quranic Society espoused views that were "incompatible with the Australian way of life".
  19. Just a quick question i my self havn't heard plus i cant seem to find out as to why lethal Weapon is now under a 2nd Maintenance Period for this year very unusual for the ride having already had a major maintenance with china town touch ups ect. Does anyone know why there is now a 2nd one and i thought this might have been mentioned earlier or someone would have realized.
  20. Yeah i have also heard about the Sea World crash would have been many years ago now i was very young when it happened from what i can recall was about 3 days before i went to sea world for the first time in years and my dad told me about it when we arrived in the car park, and funny enough i havn't been to Dreamworld now in ages and im going on sunday which is 3 days away i think i have bad luck when it comes to theme parks and helicopters.
  21. The story will be on NBN and WIN 6 o clock news tonight
  22. There was no cutbacks on weekends if anything they would have been cuting back during the week with lower attendance and lowers sales rather than weekend with higher attendance and higher projected sales. But things are on the change and have been fixed also as mention a few other things have been added and will be in operation with in the next month, which may result in some late openings instead of closing the attraction completely to do the work.
  23. Im sorry but that is really rude, it really puzzles me as to why people go to such lengths to humiliate others and down grade them, Shaun has a right to do what he has a interest in very much like us and i know for a fact when one of our recent poster whitsy was saying rude stuff about us in general talking about Scooby Alex you were one of the ones who kicked up a stink about it, Yet its fine for you to turn around and be rude to someone else and there interest's, first word that comes to my mind would have to be hypocrite. What will be even more funny about this is someone is going to remove these posts just to cover his ass.
  24. kieron5379 i think you will find that Gazza isn't talking about what you said in general as i think most people could tell you were joking hence i joked back. But he is talking about the thread in general and i agree i think it's being looked into to much. Scooby on average probably breaks down once a day and 80% guests are evacuated its procedure. There are so many sensor's on the attraction that faults are detected all the time and there always very minor. Though sometimes it can be stopped if something unusual is seen on the monitors and E-stop is used.
  25. Yeah well you would think so kieron5379 wouldn't you
