Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World
MaxxTheMonster replied to UpperCoomera's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of quote boxes when it does the above... GRRRRR... Again I plan on giving it a go, but I just don't see the whole "WOW VR on a coaster" appeal... Yes you will actually feel the 4g where on a motion simulator you wont but I'll be damned if BATR didn't feel like you were actually doing what you felt on the screen... In some ways it feels like in going forward they are stepping backward... -

So basically this will be seated watching a screen while you are moved around by external forces... Didn't they have that before JL3D? I am just confused as to why you would take a coaster which is designed with close calls to objects like poles, other structures, etc and make it essentially a motion simulator... " Simulator rides work by showing a film and moving at the same time." Don't get me wrong I will definitely try this at least once, but the whole idea is still confusing to me -

... Yes... Given your feet dangle it sort of doesn't make sense to have the VR being in a vehicle... How about ManBat is escaping Arkham, scooped you up, and is being chased by Batman in the Batwing... Hence dangling legs... Rolling and flipping to avoid missiles, buildings, etc... -

Maybe they have had this is the works for a while and so slowed their load times progressively over time to its current speed so we don't notice a huge impact on it when they introduce this??? -
Say what you will about this game but it has succeeded (with me at least) in getting me to do what drs have been telling me to do for years... Get off my ass and do some exercise... Yesterday I had a day off and would normally sit down in from of the computer and game all day... Instead I ended up walking around a couple of suburbs for a couple hours hitting pokestops and gyms... 10km later finally got home... Add to this the daily 2km I am now walking... All equals 1kg lost since last Thursday evening... I just might be able to start experiencing some of the rides at the parkz again by the end of the year

Please do... This is something I have hoped they would do for many years... Probably since they removed the old Studio Tours and then the Movie Magic stage... Noticed last night but only had a proper look this morning... Prince & Princess Make your child’s dream of being a Prince or Princess come true with our new Prince and Princess of the Parade. For a $30 donation to the Gold Coast Community Fund your child can become Prince or Princess of the daily Streets Star Parade at Warner Bros. Movie World. Your little Royal will be crowned to take their position on the parade throne before joining the Movie World characters and Super Heroes for our famous Star Parade, chauffeured in their very own golden limo. Proud parents can view their little prince or princess from our exclusive VIP parade viewing area. Your donation will go directly to helping Gold Coast families in need via the Gold Coast Community Fund. So they have decided to take something else that was free (won at dance party with Looney Tunes) and get people to pay for it... Sure the money is donated to a good cause in the local area but still...

Except the coaster is slated for a late 2017 open and this is currently Saturdays End July to End September... So 9 days... 8 people max per tour... 72 people at this stage... Hoping this is just a trial period to see how popular it is as would love to do this but not something that can be afforded until late October Also... Please Note: Guests required to meet minimum height of 140cm. Children under 14yrs must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Guests must wear enclosed, flat footwear and have a moderate level of fitness and strength. Tour operates in all weather conditions, however some components of tour may be substituted for similar experiences in adverse weather. Back of house attraction visits and tour content may vary due to maintenance schedules and other activity. Movie World admission ticket required. So does this mean although they show SE in the advertising you most likely wont get to view the areas shown since it is out for maintenance??? Unless you go the last 2 weeks...

"Discovery's hit show first tested the hydrofluoric acid to see just how much the toxic substance can do. Using small samples of each item found commonly in bathrooms"... "learned that the HF acid didn't do much of anything. The steel, linoleum and wood were pretty much unaffected, while the drywall was turned into a "soupy mush." The little piece of pork that substituted as the dead criminal was a bit softer, but nothing like the bloody glob that crashed through Jesse Pinkman's hallway ceiling. "On "Breaking Bad," Pinkman used two gallons of the HF, but "MythBusters" used something even stronger: 6 gallons total of sulfuric acid and what they called "special sauce." " The results? Pig goo that "MythBusters" star Jamie Hyneman called "one of the ugliest things I've ever seen." But even the stronger stuff (which Walt and Jesse didn't use on the show) wasn't able to make a dent in the tub or the flooring. I agree with you here but not everyone thinks to check the website before heading down... Wonder though... Don't they normally have the boards out saying what rides are currently not operating visible in the ticket booth windows before you pay for tickets and again before you actually enter the park?

That seems a bit small for a golf range... About 220m... Especially if that includes the building... Old range at Logan was 240 from the tee to the back... One at Victoria Park Golf Club is 260 from tee to back... Neither include the building -
I guess come August 1 we will see what happens...

No nothing unfortunately... Was very forthcoming with the above information and given the maps having coming soon over the Octopus I would agree that is the shipping containers... TBH I have never been to the park but it is most definitely something that as a family and some friends are looking at doing at the end of the year

Yeah friend works opposite the museum and showed me a screen capture from yesterday... Pokestops everywhere

Speaking to a representative on Sunday who informs that shipping containers started arriving early Sunday morning for their next install and that they are hoping for 2 new attractions in place by the end of the year.

So... Went to RACQ Motorfest on Sunday and friend drove... He has Pokemon Go and so heading from Eagle Farm Racecourse back to Beenleigh he decided on going via the Domestic and International Airports Drop Off and Pick Up ramps, Brisbane, then out to Victoria Point and back through Redland Bay... Wonderful Sunday afternoon drive... All while I'm furiously grabbing all the Pokemon and PokeStops I could... Apparently Dratini loves hanging out at the International Airport, along with Magicarp... Also managed to grab a Bulbasaur driving past the Fernwood at Loganholme... Get back to his house and alert for a pokemon 4 houses up... His brothers place... Shot him a message and the first reply was "???"... 15 minutes later comes... Yeah it was a Rattata... Also rather amusing yesterday watching kids walking up and down the street, stopping at the intersection outside our house and catching Pokemon... And people walking around Beenleigh at 9 at night playing...

There were never live actors in this... There was a short clip that played saying how we were going to go through the old western backlot which has resident ghosts of films past... But this was a film... Only things that had live actors was the western shows at either the stage show, boot hill or in front of the large painting...

Almost typed this exact thought when I saw that earlier. I would be happy with a "no further progress to show at this time" post than multiple photos showing that fact...

My mate and his wife go to IKEA every fortnight to just wander around and get out of the house... And have lunch... I am interested in the general atmosphere, theme, etc... Never been big on scare mazes but even since the first year they had one have said I would love to be able to do a behind the scenes to see the amount of hard work put in making these things look so good and where they are able to cheat using lighting and minor dressing to make it look great under lighting while most people will go through screaming or laughing paying attention to the actors...
