  1. An aqua trax coaster would be great, but i also like this idea of a rapids ride (it would have to be much more extreme than DW's) with user-operated water cannons and random water spouts etc. Another idea would be to build a high-speed indoor coaster similar to Aerosmith/Space Mountain. That would really draw the crowds!
  2. Those who may be thinking the parks are coming off peak season, think again. I went to wnw on Saturday, and know of a group who went on Thursday. Both days, there were extremely long waits on all rides. In fact, when i went on saturday it was so crowded that i gave up after 45 mins of waiting to go down one slide (the single rider slides next to terror canyon). With one rider being allowed to go every 3 minutes or so, it translates to only very small numbers of people getting down each hour - maybe 30 or so if you're lucky. The line i was in only had about 50 people in it, and after 45 mins i was barely half way towards the front. I gave up and after a quick dip in the wave pool, went home. Considering how stormy it was on saturday i'd hate to see it on a sunny day! Bring back the good old days when the slide operators would let one person go every 10 seconds, and didn't have to wait for the entire ride to be empty before letting the next individual go down! Seaworld was not as bad... i was able to get 5 rides of the Jet Rescue there in the space of one hour. Looking forward to the off peak season.
  3. I'm more a movieworld / WnW / SW kinda guy like you Alex. I don't think this shop a docket discount is a reaction to, or designed to compete with the 70 dollar Q150 pass though. The Q150 is obviously superior in terms of value for money, but i suppose if you did want to go to DW or WWW once it's still a pretty decent price for locals.
  4. Removed until i hear back from site admin regarding whether this is ok to post or not. Ok i'm told it is fine to post it: http://www.hotdockets.com.au/view_coupon.asp?id=173164 Adults at kids prices. QLD and northern NSW only. Up to 6 adults can get in on this coupon at the prices below (per adult). Valid 3 Feb - 9 Apr, 2009. Must use this coupon to purchase tickets at the front gate. DW: $45 WWW: $30
  5. Yeh i have an annual pass (and Q150). But I agree I'm sure they wouldn't go to all that trouble... it'd just be a random selection process.
  6. I can assure you all i am not whoever this doc brown guy is. This is my first time registering on the forums. Furtheremore, shouldn't the forum admins ban people who register multiple accounts (based on their IP address)? Or give them a warning. At least that's what happens on other forums i participate (or moderate), maybe you guys are too nice Klassen, i think i might have pm'ed you once to ask you something about MW... hardly "every day".
  7. Maybe they send it to people who've been to the park a lot lately... i think i've been to MW about 9 times in the past 6 months Yes i can confirm that the surveymonkey link is correct... interestingly, I use surveymonkey at my work too. It's a good service for collecting this kind of data from your web site users.
  8. This is a thought-provoking article. DW does not appeal to me much, i don't care much for lasertag, flowrider etc. I just want fun rollercoasters and attractions!
  9. mrt, that's interesting but when you say you've "discovered" this stuff where did you discover it? Are they selling it at movieworld? I don't see the number of threads being an issue considering how quiet these message boards are with only a few posts in each forum per day.
  10. The survey asks a variety of questions about what you think of the show and asks for suggestions to make it better. This is an interesting development. Hopefully they are looking at ways to improve the show in the near future.
  11. I'm going to WnW on the weekend, and my brother and his wife are there today. I'll see what i can find out!
  12. hey guys, does anyone know why our Sea World doesn't appear on the park index of themeparkreview.com? I tried adding it yesterday, we will see if they approve it. All our other parks are present and accounted for, it would be good to see Sea World on there now that they have a decent coaster!
  13. Great video Gazza! Very nicely done, gives you a good feel for the overall vibe of the park!
  14. I think Everland is further out from Seoul city. Lotte World is a few mins on the subway.
  15. I have a two night stopover in seoul this september so i'm planning a trip to Lotte World! The park has an Intamin aqua trax coaster called atlantis adventure which looks amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxx5rAOoXE4 Has anyone been before? Be interested to hear other people's thoughts.
  16. Hmm i would have to disagree with you there, i went on Lethal Weapon when it was raining and it didn't hurt at all really. Actually it made it more fun
  17. I went to seaworld today hoping the crowds would be thin due to all the rain (and they were), to get a few rides on the jet ski rescue coaster. Thinking ahead, i called the park but there was no information saying that jet ski rescue doesn't run in the rain, so i assumed it would be alright. But, when i got there sure enough there were signs up saying it wouldn't run during rain. I stuck around for an hour and a half and during that time it stopped raining for about 15 mins, so i managed to get in two quick rides. Now, I don't know why they don't run it during rain (surely it's safe?). But anyway, i thought the coaster was fantastic, the smoothest coaster i've ever been on and lots of fun! Can't wait to try it again next weekend.
  18. I'd like to see a high speed indoor coaster similar to Aerosmith Rock N Rollercoaster / Space Mountain. Scooby Doo is great but not exactly high speed.
  19. I'd like to do this one day at Seaworld... has anyone here done it? If so, what were your thoughts?
  20. Hey Klassen24, I saw The Importance of being Ernest here in Brisbane and it was as you say very polished and incredible performances by all involved. Which character did you play, out of interest? Did you perform at the south bank venue (QPAC i think?) or elsewhere? Wow that show was great.
  21. I can't understand what he's trying to say... apart from something about laser skirmish and 10 to 20 dollars being the cost. I wonder if this guy works at Dreamworld.
  22. Picked up my Q150 yesterday at movie world. They give you a printed ticket at the upgrade booth and then stick a small photo to the back of it. I ordered via phone, not sure how it would work if you bought online. The ticket is not replaceable, so you need to look after it (even though it's only made of cardboard!). I'm thinking i will laminate mine.
  23. I'm hoping to use my Q150 to get a few rides on this thing next weekend, can't wait! It really looks like a fun coaster. One of those rides you can go on again and again and it wouldn't give you a headache.
