  1. Did anyone catch the Movieworld special on Go!? Was it any good? https://www.facebook.com/movieworldgoldcoast
  2. Brief article in today's West. Are they getting Adventure World confused with Legoland? 'Everything is awesome', indeed.
  3. Yet they were right this time? A source is a source. I'm sure there are times when people on here get it wrong. I'm just not a fan of Facebook pages that repackage stuff that comes out about GC themeparks - that's why Parkz is better.
  4. No idea. All those GC Facebook pages lookalike to me, but they're often first with news.
  5. The Theme Park Social Network mentioned it a week ago.
  6. Hilarious tour of Dino Island with Mark and the most ocker reporter in the world - great stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msuAiXtzZoE The dinosaurs look amazing. I like the one that has had too much coffee.
  7. Heard about this one last night. Apparently, they were copping some flack on their Facebook Page for not shutting the slide sooner. https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/25670021/boy-cracks-skull-in-slide-fall/
  8. Loved the new ads. Especially: The extra cool slow down/stop parts - notably the girl on The Black Widow. That camera must have some high frame rates. The Shallow depth of field. All the new attractions and landmarks. The animated logo was a great surprise at the end. Enjoying the night pictures of the dinosaurs on your Facebook Page too.
  9. Dejiki has the latest on BSG. The Human side is up and testing and looking very cool with its winglets. It seems like we might be waiting until early next year for the restart. http://dejiki.com/2014/12/uss-update-2014dec/
  10. This ad was in Friday's Christmas Gift Guide from The West Australian. It looks like the new logo has gone live. Can't wait to see it on the gates. https://www.facebook.com/AdventureWorldOfficialPage
  11. Looks like LPS collected a whole swag of awards at the 2014 IAAPA Brass Ring. Including: Best New Innovation in Food and Beverage: “Ferris Wheel Dining,” Luna Park Sydney, Sydney Best Employee Reward & Recognition Program Under 1 Million Attendance: Luna Park Sydney Television Commercial Class 3: Luna Park Sydney, Sydney, Australia Sea World and Village Roadshow got mentions too. Congratulations to all. http://www.iaapa.org/about-iaapa/iaapa-awards/2014-iaapa-brass-ring-awards-winners
  12. I knew more auditions were coming up, but here's an advertisement for positions. I like how the photographers are counted as performers. Interesting that Kodak does their training. I'm glad to hear that the costumed performers wear ice vests. You'd think with WAAPA(WA Academy of Performing Arts) in town, there would be lots of talent to choose from. Perth Actor's Collective is pretty good too. http://www.seek.com.au/job/27715861
  13. Looks like the 3!5m waterslide going down St George's Terrace has almost sold out. There are only a few spots left on the Sunday evening. Let's hope they bring it back.
  14. Wet Abyss.. is that the same as James Cameron's Abyss? Maybe AW could get him to do the introductory video for the queue line and they could position aliens at the end of the waterslide. Apparently the dinos have landed - unfortunately the weather rained on their parade. Perth has suffered through a few storms in the last couple of days.
  15. Yeah, I was just suggesting it because of its name and the fact that it has a pretty small footprint, but you got me.. what's your source? The initial reviews I could find mention that some of the transitions were a bit off. Did it get worse after it opened? http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=53236&start=820
  16. Wouldn't this be an ironic choice of waterslide? http://www.whitewaterwest.com/Abyss.html Now, what could you call it?
  17. They could get a Zamperla Thunderbolt in memory of the original. http://www.zamperla.com/products/thunderbolt/ Hopefully, they'll continue with Gerstlauer and get one of their coasters. http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/products/roller-coasters/
  18. Noticeboard outside of BSG says the relaunch is soon. Hopefully it won't be too far off now. The rest of the park is looking very Christmassy. http://lukeandthetempleoffun.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/battlestar-galactica-reopening-soon.html
  19. How long has the mid course tunnel fog not been working?
  20. Welcome back, Mark. That'll be some record then. I hope Florida treated you well. Any highlights from your trip (besides getting the contract signed)?
  21. Good to hear. It might not cost a lot, but it looks like it could take up a bit of real estate. If they go from the top of the hill, they might have enough room to challenge the Typhoon at Funfields in Victoria for length. It's amazing how similar the two parks are attractions-wise (go karts, bumper boats and pirate ships). I like how the Typhoon has a maximum limit of 115kg on a single tube (Adventure World's is 90kg) and the fact that it has a choice of 1 or 2 person tubes. http://www.funfields.com.au/rides/typhoon-waterslide/ Re: the picture. Interesting.. the online travel magazine for families - Travel Sprout - was mentioned. In their last issue they compiled a list of the top ten waterparks in Australia, which listed Kalamunda Water Park (Perth's old Wet N Wild park) at number 6 and Adventure World wasn't on it at all. http://issuu.com/travelsprout/docs/travel_sprout_mag_oct_2014
  22. A very classy publication - The Australasian Post.
  23. I think my quote on the 22nd of 'record breaking' was straight from their Facebook page - so it could just mean the Australian record. Raqneesh's picture confirms a location, but not a lot else, except that some surveyor somewhere is going to be in a whole heap of trouble.
  24. Good find Raqneesh- it's the back of the Shotgun, leading down to the Grand Prix track. I noticed some pink tape around that area last time I was there. I hope it's a world's longest bowl, not world's tallest slide. Some people I know find the speed slides a challenge. Oh, more dinosaur pics.. talk about Jurassic Perth.
